I had a really fantastic meal at Habas, it exceeded my expectations. One of my fellow diners said he has been several times and it is consistently of that quality.
Service generally good although a few dishes got forgotten/delayed - bear that in mind if you're with a group, you may need to keep an eye on what's coming out.
We shared various mezze to start, the platter is a good option and the filo cigars are fun too. For my main I got the chargrilled monkfish which was really excellent and I also loved the roasted cauliflower and heritage carrots. Dal I wasn't so keen on but not bad either. Considering how expensive food is getting everywhere, I think the prices here are ok.
There is little information about gluten free on the menu, but they were in fact able to provide alternatives for my friend who can't eat it - ring in advance if you're not sure (they did provide her with a super complex table too but you'd probably need a degree in nutrition to understand it). I also appreciated that they stock all the Seedlip non-alcoholic gins, they are a really tasty alternative.
It was nice to be able to just transition over to the bar area after our meal rather than to go out hunting for somewhere else to hang out. It had a fun vibe and table service was attentive - a couple more errors but they worked hard to sort them out. read more
