Great ambiance and vibes all around. The drinks were spectacular. Loved the decorations and setup. Definitely a social media worthy place. As for the food, the appetizers were amazing. Especially the croquettes. The entrees were limited in my opinion, but the chicken was flavorful and very tasty. Id recommend for a date night or birthday event

Tattu is really nice inside and the staff are friendly although had to flag them down for more water and the bill which was surprising given the price point here. I came on a Saturday lunchtime and was surprised the prices were actually fairly reasonable - we ordered a lot and it came to around £30 each, although to be fair that's without any drinks. We tried 3 types of dim sum and they were all quite nice although have had better at Tai Pan and various places in London. We liked that they were different colours though! The menu seemed to say we would get Chinese tea but this never arrived. I ordered two bao for myself thinking they would be quite small but actually one would have been more than enough and would definitely have skipped the wagyu as this was very saucey slop (pulled meat rather than chunks) which didn't taste that great. I noticed my friend left both of hers. The crab one I thought was much better but tbh wouldn't bother with either again and would instead go for Dim Sum Su or Bao in London instead! Finally we ordered a couple of small plates - ho fun noodles seemed totally standard and I would imagine you could get exactly the same quality for half the price in any other. My friend commented she'd had the same dish in London the week before and the fillet had been consistently soft, which it wasn't at Tattu. The salt and pepper aubergine is deep fried and not bad but wouldn't get it again, although it's a good portion for the price. Overall the food wasn't bad but nor was anything that good and I wouldn't rush back although I'd be fine with going if someone else had arranged it etc. It's a little bit style over substance imo but it's worth noting that it really is a gorgeous looking restaurant inside with music at a good level and overall a pleasant environment to spend an hour or two.

The discreet door of the location was the only thing that threw me off. Other than that experience was great. Started off downstairs in their lounge with a pinot noir, and was promptly notified when our table upstairs was ready. Booth under the cherry blossom tree was a nice touch and service began as soon as we sat down. The steak was cooked to perfection, chicken and truffle dumplings were lovely, tuna sashimi, crispy pork belly and the aromatic duck were all great dishes as well. Everything came out quick and is made to share. Few bottles of Italian red rounded out a nice evening with great people and great food.

I really enjoyed my recent meal at Tattu. I'd been wanting to visit for a while but knowing that it's particularly expensive for the food that you get I'd decided to wait until a good opportunity presented itself. The menu has lots of modern Chinese cuisine to choose from. I opted for some Dim Sum and a few other small bites such as satay chicken - all of which were very nice. The seared tuna was also an exceptional dish! The service is friendly and professional and it's a lovely eating experience but I do feel that it's very overpriced. A meal for 2 with wine came to around £130 and I was still hungry when I left!

Looking for somewhere special to spend our anniversary I chose this place. Luckily just in time to take advantage of the 50 percent discount in January! Walking in I was greeted instantly and led upstairs. From below I could see leather booths with rose lights showering down upon them. Straight ahead on the top floor was the open kitchen. We walked past a couple of booths crowned by a faux cherry blossom tree and to the left Japanese themed quarters..For a more intimate dining experience. We had a dedicated waitress who took our drink order.. I had heard great things about the cocktails so I tried a cherry blossom costing almost a tenner..Despite it's small size it packed a punch. The menu consists of small plates such as dim sum, various seafood and meat dishes...And the mains the same with some.interesting twists.. the waitress recommended how much to order so we had the king crab dumplings, pork crackling, duck egg fried rice, tuna tartar , ribs and lamb chops with pumpkin. Everything that arrived was stunning. The crab was good although the pork with its cracking was the best I ever tasted. The tuna was under a lot of herbs but was very tangy and tasty although a bit scarce. The lamb chops with pumpkin was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of pink in the middle and the ribs generously meaty. One bowl of rice was enough to share and in mid scoffing I had requested a long drink.. the waitress picked a mock cocktail but had added shots of gin to it making it taste like a boozy solero. To finish I indulged in some satay ice cream and a sparkler to congratulate our anniversary. The bill would have cost £160 but thankfully it was 50 percent off. The atmosphere is beautiful here and the furnishings swish. Yes it is expensive but I would recommend dining here for special occasions. Service was impeccable.

This restaurant is relatively new to Spinningfields but it definitely hasn't failed to capture anyone's attention. From the cool downstairs bar area to the breathtaking restaurant space upstairs, it's definitely worth it to come here at least once to admire the architecture...and maybe enjoy a cheeky drink. First, alcohol: they've got a selection of interesting cocktails. Price range is relatively similar to any other upscale bar in Spinningfields. There's one that comes in a bear-shaped glass jar which is very nice and slightly gingery (if you're into that sort of thing). Second, food: their portion sizes started out to be quite generous when they first opened but I feel they've gotten slightly smaller and a little less fresh. Regardless, the siu mai and miso cod were very memorable. Finally, the bill: at which point I had to cover my eyes and deliberate how many future meals I could skip without going hungry. It's pricy but worth the visit. Staff are incredibly friendly and will walk you through the best way to order from the menu.

Went for a 2nd time to Tattu back in January - this was during January 40% off offer. (It did not include their dim sum offer they have on). My previous (1st) visit to Tattu I thought the food was just OK but the actual restaurant is really nice and service was really good. And because of the service and the interior, it meant I gave it a 4/5. Now this 2nd time, I had a better time so going to give it a 5/5. It was perfect but can't complain about anything. I think the food all tasted better and maybe even bigger portions? The stand out dish was the black cod which was delicious. The interior, of course, is still really nice and the tree is a beautiful "centrepiece". The service was really good - attentive, and great knowledge. When a dish is brought to the table, the waitress told us what exactly the dish was.

I am rating this place a 4 primarily for the ambience and presentation of the food. While the food was not bad it was not as amazing as we were expecting based on how highly recommended it was. This could be because we were there during lunch rather than dinner. Overall it was a good meal but not a great one. The benefit to you coming here during lunch is that you don't need a reservation.

New bar in spinning fields. I was told this place was very snobby but it was far from this. We were dressed casually after work in jeans and blouse and sandals. We were greeted at the door by 2 door men. Then just inside the door we were greeted by two ladies asking if we were eating or just there for a drink. We had just eaten so we said drinks. They pointed us in the direction of the bar. At the bar we were give a menu we chose the house white wine. Priced at £20 i didn't think that was bad at all. There prices did range upto a few hundred pounds per bottle. The bar was dimly lit so you could relax and just chat but with a good open space at the same time. I think it had a Japanese style to it.

Wow where do i start ? A restaurant owned by two brothers. The food is unique and beautiful. The de-core is like an art gallery with a unique magic tree (go and see) Highly recommended restaurant with excellent customer service and 5* cocktails x

So far the best dining experiences I've had in Manchester. The staff is really nice and caring. Our personal server added to the experience. Choice of dish was carefully explained and served. Presentation of each dish was unique and eye catching and was equally mouth watering. Food tasted good and the lovely atmosphere added to the experience. Tattu has the best interior among the restaurants in Manchester. Really enjoyed.

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting here, from start to finish it was faultless. I'd definitely take someone here on a first date! It's decor is spectacular and the service is impeccable. The food is a little pricey but the portions are a decent size so I can't really grumble. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. The duck egg and sausage fried rice is definitely a must eat!

We split everything between 4 of us so we shared the short ribs, the shredded beef in spicy sauce, egg-fried rice, and then the pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings and red bean buns. The ribs and beef were delicious - a really tasty sweet and spicy sauce. The dumplings were great and served steaming hot. All of us were pleasantly full after the meal and it was all cooked hot and fresh. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Holy crap, was this place good, and my sheltered students agreed: Red Chilli's food is better than anything available at where we live in the States! I ordered the Gong Bao Chicken (Kung Pao, for those Yankees who often get Panda Express) and...wow. Not only was everything super fresh but there were flavors/seasonings in the dish that I had never experienced before. I would certainly come back here again if I return to the area. The negatives, however nit-picky: The entrees don't come with rice (though, that could be my American fatness talking). The side of fried rice we did order was pricey and good, not great. Also, for those who are used to a Chinese restaurant menu in America, you might find Red Chilli's menu to be a little limiting, as there's no General Tso's Chicken or something similar.

I was introduced to real Chinees food - I mean proper Chinese food, not gwailo-style, westernised stuff - in the late eighties, by my old friend Ronnie Chan. Ronnie and I would go weekly to Win Wah on Portland Street, an astoundingly cheap place where dishes cost £3-4, and I learned very quickly to use chopsticks (out of necessity - otherwise Ronnie would have eaten all the grub before I had any chance). Then Ronnie moved back to Hong Kong, Win Wah disappeared, and I was in the wilderness. After some years of searching, I found a new home at Wong Chu. Cheap, no-nonsense, with high-quality offerings - the noodle dishes, and the duck / pork / squid were always spot-on, I wandered the streets, checked the menus, and tried the other places - but always found myself returning to Wong Chu, because it was cheaper and better than the competition. I dined there hundreds of times. One Saturday morning in 2001, I opened my newspaper and saw the headline "Hacked to Death by Triad Maniacs". It was Mr Wong and his family. I'd seen Mrs Wong go through her two pregnancies, watched her kids scurry excitedly around the place, and I was devastated. But the restaurant re-opened, now managed by Mr Wong's adult daughter from a previous marriage, and continued to deliver great dining..... for another 5 or 6 years. Then it went into a sad decline - I have no idea why - and by the end, it was a pale shadow of its former self. Back to the wilderness. Now I have a new home in Chinatown. As good as Win Wah & Wong Chu at their respective peaks, with the same format - no-frills, low-end prices, but great quality, a relaxed and friendly informal atmosphere, and a menu of Hong Kong-style Chinese dishes that are a world away from the MSG-laden gwailo junk that's so ubiquitous in UK Chinese restaurants, Fu's is the real deal. Welcome home.

My favourite is the fish stew, done hot pot style and just so delicious you'd happily force yourself to eat too. Combos and sauces you might not have encountered before are the order of the day here and the creativity pays dividends. The secret trick here is not to be given the blue menu. They'll automatically pass it on if they think you're English, but it's the red one you want; that's what harbours all the wonderful stuff. The drinks are interesting too, especially the traditional Hong Kong iced tea, it's uber refreshing. And with wicked prices and smart service to boot, this is one gem you should ensure won't stay hidden long. Get stuck in.

They were featured on Gordon Ramsay's The F Word and were also on UK business show Dragon's Den twice, advertising their ready meals in 2005 and more recently advertising the sauces they sell in supermarkets and use in restaurants - the story behind their products and the three sisters working together to produce "great quality Chinese food catering for allergies such as gluten-free" was appealing to me, however my high expectations were far from met, infact my experience here was so disappointing, it made me feel sick. The prices here are a little high, with mains generally between 10 and 20 pounds but the presentation for me is a little poor and sloppy, for example, I ordered a lemon chicken as my main, all it was was slices of chicken, it comes with nothing other than the chicken and sauce - no sides etc which were all extras. The "mains" are more like big sharing boards for groups, rather than mains for one person perhaps. For my starter, I ordered gluten-free spring rolls, is excited to try them have never tried them before, being quite a newbie to Chinese cuisine, I found out this was basically fried puff pastry containing vegetables and spring onions. For me, they were basically inedible, I found them to first be extremely hot and even after they had cooled, they were hard and the vegetables were too wet and stringy. My friend ordered seaweed as her starter, I found it to be far too salty but she appeared to enjoy it. For my main, I ordered the lemon chicken which was once again dreadful, the chicken was a little hard and bland but what made it worse was the big thick sauce, it looked like a thick discoloured bodily fluid rather than a nice, enjoyable sauce - the USP of this restauraunt and the brand as a whole is the sauces, and if they can't even get that right, I'm astonished and lost for words. It was basically a sickly and ugly mess. The rest of my party seemed to order the chow meins, one mixed meat, one just with chicken, a group of four people all complained about the chicken which was amongst the poorest quality of chicken I've had in a long time, the portion sizes again were huge - it is a real shame the waiter seemed more interested in what money they could get out of me, rather than offering ideas and warning us about what to expect with the portion sizes - knowing how big the plates were we could have ordered a variety of things, or less food. Even if the food was remotely pleasant, it still was far too large in size for a portion. I decided to order an extra side to go with my chicken, the salt and pepper chips which I found to be probably the only edible part of my meal, the chips were decent quality but it just was the vegetables which were not, they once again were thick, and also hard. The overall decor of this place seems a little cheap, it is slightly small as you walk in through cardboard barriers, and it just doesn't have the overall feel of a restauraunt. It's slightly strange and not the nicest of places that's for sure, it certainly doesn't give the high-end feel, infact the only thing about this place which is high-end are the prices. With tea being a huge export in China, I was pleased to see a huge and great selection of iced tea for just £4 each, I decided to opt for a pear iced tea but it was incredibly sweet and filled with sugar, it was a watery and sugary mess to the point those awful flavours basically made the tea hard to taste and the drink once again an abysmal mess. The opening hours are also slightly restrictive and they also appear to open after 5 only, and a lack of an online booking system makes it hard to arrange a table as you have to communicate with email, which I don't like and shows not only is Sweet Mandarin lacking with the competition in terms of pricing and food quality, but it also lacks behind in the technology form too, and the egotistical act of boasting of their own achievements seem to outweigh everything else, including making the experience better for the customer, I can't help but feel a sense of arrogance too, Sweet Mandarin might have won many awards years ago, I can't comment having not visited before today, but I feel these awards have added a sense of arrogance, making the owners slightly arrogant when really they're food was a dreadful, overpriced mess, which meant I'd leave the restauraunt hungry and feeling sick. When making a reservation via email I was told "We look forward to welcoming you to Sweet Mandarin for some delicious Chinese cuisine" but my experience was an insult to Chinese cuisine and is enough to put anyone off from ordering Chinese food, being a mess from start to finish so I sadly feel Sweet Mandarin is somewhere to Avoid at all costs!
