I was going regularly every other month last year until my favorite massage therapist retired. Then I found another therapist I liked. But she also left after a short time. Today, I went in for a full body massage and had someone new (Jason) who only worked on my back. Towards the end of the massage, he asked me to turn over, but I asked about my legs since they always do them after the back. So instead of me turning over, Jason used the few minutes left to massage/stretch my legs over the cloth, no oil. I mentioned this when I was leaving, but the front desk person said Jason decided to work out the knots in my back since I was so tense, and next time I'll get legs. I told her I paid for a full body massage, and even though I appreciate that Jason worked out the knots in my back, it should have been my decision for him to only do my back. Plus, next time legs?! I paid for THIS time. The owner was called, but all I got was once the massage is over, that's that. I know there's a language barrier, and again, I appreciate that Jason was intent on getting rid of my back tension. But the customer service at the end was really poor, and the owner should have been better. I've been a loyal customer and am really disappointed. I doubt I'll be back, and I definitely won't buy another massage package.

From the moment you step into Noctua Diem, it feels like a sanctuary--calming, safe, and deeply relaxing. That sense of peace only grows thanks to Barbara's warm hospitality and attention to detail. The setup is thoughtful and incredibly supportive. Whether it's the perfectly arranged pillows, the soothing lighting, the gentle aromatherapy, or Barbara's intuitive touch, every element works together to create a deeply restorative experience. Her ability to ease out tension--while keeping everything relaxing--has given me the best naps of my pregnancy journey. I always leave feeling not just relaxed, but truly rested. At my last visit, Barbara incorporated a few minutes of Reiki, which added a beautiful, grounding layer to the session. I could feel the shift in both my body and spirit. I usually prefer deep tissue massage, but Barbara's nurturing approach was exactly what I needed during pregnancy. I can't recommend her enough.

(scroll for info at the end of my original review.) ------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: Yeahhhh.. this place isn't it lol. For context I'm 25F, just moved into the area. This happened a few weeks ago but it just popped into my head recently. Hole in the wall massage/spa places are so hit or miss. Honestly I accidentally booked through them for a 60min back massage thinking it was another place that I actually liked that is also in ridgewood (it was "Mosa Spa"; you can book on their website so you know exactly what you're paying for before hand.) During the massage the woman asked me multiple times if I wanted soft or heavier pressure, and each time I said soft very loud and clear, since my head was face down for the massage. Fast forward to the middle of the massage and she's standing on my back. Like actually standing. And it wasn't brief. I know this is something people do in general, like at home, but it seemed extremely unprofessional since she didn't ask first before doing it, and I had already said "soft pressure" not "please put your whole body weight on me in one place." I also know that 60min massages usually involve flipping around to have the front part (arms, legs, head) massaged about halfway through. She must have mistimed and I flipped over and then 10 minutes later her timer went off and the massage promptly ended. When I was filling out the receipt for the tip, the man at the counter pointed at the dotted line and said "Tip." (not as question. also extremely rich considering the quality of the experience.) I never write reviews because I am so lazy; I guess this is where my laziness gets me so I can't complain (too much) - but I can warn: If you have a small budget for pampering yourself, either go to another massage place like Mosa with similar prices, or bite the bullet and splurge on an actual spa/bathhouse (NYC & brooklyn have plenty.) Or get a facial at the Glowbar locations for 30min under $100. Or get your nails done! I felt super disappointed because I don't have a lot of money for this kind of stuff, and blew it on a very uncomfortable experience. Good luck lol. -------------- Edit: I didn't look at the other reviews before visiting since I thought I was going somewhere else, but after I posted THIS review, i read someone else's who said they got a SKIN INFECTION twice?? And weirdly enough they posted a second 5 star review saying they loved it and to tip the masseuse $1 per hour (so like $30-60 extra) and that their "old review" was an assumption and they shouldn't have posted it. I clicked on the account of the second reviewer and they're two different people under the name Daniel I. First review about skin infection is real, the second 5 star review is fake and from the company. That's actually crazy.
