    Shut down jungle

This waterpark gave a discounted rate of $35 a person. However, there was only 1 waterslide working, the hot tub was broken and Jungle falls was shut down on day 2 of being at the water park. The website should include a list of broken rides so that buyers know what to expect. There was also a 50 minute wait for overpriced food and many of the bathrooms were out of order.

Getting ready to enjoy lunch. Hot dog ,fries, bacon and cheese fries, chicken sandwich.

Great place. My husband and I took out 11 yr old son, 3 yr old grandson and our 6 yr old granddaughter and they had a great time. Lots of fun in the water park, wave pool, slides, little kiddie area. The food was pricey but everything tastes good. Hot dogs, fries, chicken sandwiches. There was pizza available and other items. We all loved this water park and had a great day! We recommend it.

One of two hot tubs advertised.

H2Oooohh is a great example of what happens when marketing and sales take a severe departure from the reality of a product. The water park does have water; unfortunately, none of it is in any of the hot tubs the park falsely advertises as operational. Where there is water, it's a very cool 77°, which is a great air temperature, but cold for water. The park advertises three water slides, only one of which is running, and it isn't the fun one. What happened? H2Ooohh appears to be a failed experiment in attaching an indoor water park to a time share development. Time share owners are forever trying to either get rid of their time shares or reduce the annual maintenance costs they're obligated to pay for the rest of their lives. No doubt the cost of upkeep for a water park they are free to enjoy for all of one week a year was among the first cuts every owner targeted after their first maintenance bill showed up in the mail. As a result, here we are, years later, with a cold, barely functioning water park that our kids almost enjoyed for about ten minutes. (I did add an extra star to my one-star review because the surf machine was working, though only for short periods due to understaffing.)

    This place is so dead

I would rate it a 0 but that's not possible so I give it a 1. This is the worst experience I have ever had at a waterpark in my life. I used to come here as a kid all the time and I would get sick after EVERYTIME. Now fast forward a few years later I have decided to give it another chance. I was looking foward to stepping in the nice warm hot tub but guess what. It was closed. Along with the 2/3 water slides and play gym. On top of that the water in the pool was colder than the water I shower with. This place is a complete waste of money that no one should spend . I would have rather went anywhere else if the tickets weren't sold out.

    Wave pool

This place is great for the price. We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights on Presidents' Day weekend and paid $410 total. The water park is worn, but again, it was worth the price. I will say that 2 of the 3 water slides are broken. I was told by employees that they have been broken for a while. The drink were a little pricey, but I brought my own. Just sneak a soft sided cooler in. The pizza was reasonable and easy to feed my kid. Get there early to get chairs or tables, if not....good luck waiting. Surfing thing was really cool. I would go back again in a heartbeat. If you have been to the other local water parks before, this place will probably disappoint as its only 1/4 the size of Kalahari.

Among the staff, Griffin at the front counter was a pleasure to work with. CONS: they charge you extra to use the common amenities (pool, gym, arcade, etc) and then extra on top of that for the water park. The electronic room key also failed and the carpet in our room wasn't clean. The line for check in took a solid 20 minutes. Longer than any other place I've been to. We also found a few bugs in our room OVERALL: not sure if I would come back here. The staff and the amount of amenities was amazing, but the cleanliness and the prices are very questionable

I've written over 23 Yelp and 50 Google reviews and have over 10,000 views of my reviews on Google…read moreand 15 helpfuls in Yelp. I have never given a business less than 4 stars until now. This review is being given a year after the visit due to my experiences with this company. Save your money and go to the Kartrite *NY* instead, a direct competitor of this company, who I rated 5 stars 3 years ago. My review of the Kartrite detailed that we had an awesome family getaway -- super friendly staff, a full schedule of kids' activities, scavenger hunts, and even the indoor/outdoor hot springs. It's organized, clean, and actually delivers on what it advertises. Split Rock was the complete opposite when we stayed in May 2025, while I was 8 months pregnant, as a babymoon and celebration for my first born before finally becoming a sister. From the moment we arrived, things were disorganized and poorly managed. We waited over 2 hours total just to check in in line in the lobby, and were given notice we would hear when our room was ready (a common practice advertised for families who want to use the water park before they check into their room), however no communication about when our room would be ready ever came so we waited again for an hour in the same line later on. The waterpark was only partially functional, with multiple attractions out of order, dirty bathrooms, and limited food options available. We "upgraded" to a Willowbrook suite specifically for the hot tub in the room -- which didn't have any working jets OR hot water. The room lacked basic essentials like soap, extra toilet paper, and even a trash can in the kitchen. One of the two AC units didn't function in the room. We later found out (on day TWO) that the property was under a boil water advisory, after we had already been drinking the water for our entire stay, WHILE I was 8 months pregnant. Dining was just as disappointing -- a $25 all you can eat Memorial Day "BBQ" that was actually one plate only, which included an undercooked hamburger, and resulted in my family getting sick the next day. Activities were inconsistent too -- advertised movies were changed without notice, and the WiFi didn't work when we tried to salvage the evening in the bedroom with a movie instead. The final straw: no hot water on our last morning. I chose not to make a scene during our stay because the front desk staff were clearly overwhelmed and dealing with many similar complaints. This is not a staff issue -- it is a systemic failure of this business. What makes this truly shameful is what happened in the months after when I tried to professionally handle the situation, without even asking for a refund which I really should have given the horrific standards not meeting appropriate living conditions. Following our stay, I sent a detailed and fair account of our experience similar but longer than this review. The Manager whose name I will redact at this time responded and offered a complimentary one-night stay "for two" (despite our two-night stay and the extent of issues). I responded promptly, reasonably asking about options for our family of four and a comparable experience. Then... nothing. I followed up multiple times over the course of an entire year with no response. As the certificate approached expiration, I reached out again simply trying to book something as the email requested I do when I was ready to try again. Still no response. At this point, it's not just about a bad stay, it's about a complete lack of accountability and follow-through. I hope this behavior in the year after is due to something more than lack of care. I no longer trust that I would have a safe visit for my family if they did offer me to stay. Now, I would only request a refund. I gave Split Rock every opportunity to make this right before posting publicly. Waiting a full year with no response is unacceptable. This was supposed to be a special final trip as a family of three. Instead, it was stressful, disappointing, and frankly unbelievable. I never thought I'd write a review like this -- but this experience earned it. Rooms: 1/5 | Service: 1/5 | Location: 2/5

We went straight to the water park, and there was nobody around as it was a little cold. We did the lazy river, which was a lot of fun. There are lots of spray areas where you can get wet as you travel along the river. Pirates cove is really cute with the pirate ship and all the smaller slides for the smaller kiddos that go into the shallow water. I took my kids on the bigger water slides and we had a blast. All the slides were thrilling and we went on them multiple times. The staff at the water slides were so nice, very helpful, and patient as we learned how to sit in the tubes. It was a great way to start off LOMB. After we got our waterpark fix, we changed and went on all the rides. They are small amusement park rides, but both of my kids enjoyed them. They went on every ride (many of them twice). After awhile, my daughter was starting to feel a bit nauseous as they have a lot of spinning rides so she had to tap out. We rode the train around the park and the conductor gave us a little tour of the area. We also visited the Halloween house and Santa's barn. Let me tell you - the Santa barn surprised me as I didn't expect a real Santa to be inside. My kids loved visiting him multiple times. He gave them cookie cutters and he was very kind. (At first I thought he was an animatronic, haha). As stated by many previous posts, it is nice that you can bring your own food. We purchased food from one of the stands, and it actually wasn't that bad at all. And the price is right! We ended the day with some ice cream of course. We spent most of the day there. It was a lot of fun and we will definitely be back next summer.

Whether it was the thrilling rides or the relaxing wave pool, there was always something to keep the whole family entertained. One standout feature of our trip was the food. In previous resort experiences, we've often found ourselves disappointed by the dining options, but Kalahari shattered those expectations! The variety and quality of meals were truly exceptional. From quick snacks and Starbucks coffee, to gourmet meals at one of their multiple restaurants, every bite was delicious. It was refreshing to find such a diverse menu that pleased my wife, the kids, and me. We also appreciated the thoughtful layout of the resort. It was easy to find comfortable places to relax, and while it did take some hunting , we did manage to find a table each day. I regretted it right away. It's ridiculously crowded - no problem with parking as they sure made extra space in the back, but driving to the back woods parking lot I was afraid we were gonna hit someone cos of people walking indifferently on the paths. The tiny "beach" is made of hard packed sand, the texture of a dirt road. There are many garbage cans around, which, I appreciate that as there's nothing worse than trash on the ground, but I also don't want to be sitting next to one. There are some picnic tables in the further grassy areas that seemed more chill but the tables close to the water could not be crammed any closer together. The water where kids are playing in is murky and gross looking, as to be expected cos sediments stir up, but this just does not look clean and is way too full of people. And I would not call this a water park - it's a lake with some dingy play structures on it and some boat rides. There also don't seem to be enough lifeguards for this many kids. Summer prices (July 1-Aug 20) are $20pp over 9yo, and $18 for under 9, but you have to pay additionally for the water slides ($13-$17) and other activities. You might as well take your family to a proper waterpark for this price. Maybe once upon a time it was cute as people seem to have nostalgic memories of this place (and they definitely trade on the camp nostalgia), but it seems the park operator is only interested in packing in as many people as possible to the detriment of the experience. There is good live music with a guy playing old time rock n roll, they have hash browns yay (3 for $2.50), and my toddler had fun regardless of my lack of enjoyment or relaxation, hence the extra star.

It is still family owned. It still feels personal. It still feels like the kind of place built for joy rather than spreadsheets. Knoebel's has one of the most unique setups of any amusement park in the country. There is no admission fee. None. You pay only for what you want to ride, or you can get an all-day wristband on weekdays. Parking is free too. You can bring in your own food and non-alcoholic drinks without any hassle. The food they sell is good and affordable, and the variety is incredible. This is not frozen burger-and-fries territory. Knoebel's regularly wins the Golden Ticket Award for Best Food, beating out giant, big-budget parks from across the nation. And it is not just the food that gets recognition. The Phoenix, a masterpiece of a wooden roller coaster rebuilt from the bones of a coaster in Texas, has been named the Best Wooden Coaster in the world more than once. The Haunted Mansion is consistently ranked among the best dark rides anywhere. These rides are not nostalgia pieces coasting on reputation. They are legitimately great. Add in the one-of-a-kind Flying Turns, the steel thrill of Impulse, the twisting chaos of Twister, and the wonderfully unpredictable Flyer, and you have a lineup that would stand out even in parks five times the size. The park's setting is part of its magic. It is nestled in the mountains, shaded by towering trees. On hot days, the shade makes all the difference. The paths wind like a midway at a state fair, and in fact, that is what Knoebel's most closely resembles: a permanent state fair where you are not constantly being wrung for every dollar. It is relaxed, welcoming, and wonderfully unpolished in the right ways. It is dog friendly, which means you can bring the whole family, four-legged members included. For those who want to stay overnight, there is an on-site campground with everything from tent sites to cabins, as well as the Crystal Pool for swimming on hot summer afternoons. Knoebel's has been part of my life for over four decades, and it remains my favorite amusement park in the world. I love being able to watch my sons create memories on some of the same rides I loved at their age while exploring new additions together. It is proof that you can grow and improve without losing your heart. Every year I leave with the same thought: I cannot wait to come back.
