Re-installed windows and sliding glass door incorrectly installed by previous contractor. Rebuilt pressure treated wood deck with improved layout. Derrick's attention to detail and pride in his work translated to a solution that addressed all of my goals and helped me understand mistakes made by previous contractors. I had an idea for angled steps and even though it's a bit complicated he took on the project and built some really cool stairs that make my deck unique. Their attention to detail really showed and they kept me informed of their progress through an app with daily updates in what was complete. Communication was top notch and thats important to me. He got up on the roof to do the initial visual inspection, and determined what would be needed. He was very thorough in his explanation and what the estimated cost would be. Once we decided to move forward with JL Contractor Services he sent the agreement, and was able to schedule his crew for a week later - during winter! He was able to look ahead and find a day where the weather allowed for the work to be done. His workers were there on time, courteous and did a very thorough job on both the front and the back - the work was completed in a day as stated. I had a little bit of sticker shock from the first quote so decided this would be worth getting multiple quotes on. And Home Build was one of them due to their stellar Yelp reviews. I called them and they were able to send Oscar out right away. They told me to save 60 -90 min for the consultation, which seemed like a lot of time considering every other company just needed 5-10 min of my time. However, i was willing to invest the time for the right doors and right price. Oscar and i met for over an hour. He was super friendly and knowledgeable about all my door options. He brought along a presentation (via his ipad), as well as materials so we got it all done within that hour. The other companies took a lot less, but resulted in a few trips to my house and lots of back and forth via email. I honestly probably prefer the latter since less time all at once. In the end I went with a different company due to price, but thought this company offered a good product at competitive pricing so would be worth looking into them.

Air-Tite said their vendor didn't inform them ahead of time, and was told that they would find an alternate design. The alternate design was provided and accepted by me on 6/18. I was told the order would be placed the following week, and I would be kept up to date "every step of the way." Not hearing anything almost two months later, I followed up on 8/5, and was told they would check and get back to me the next day. After not getting a response, I followed up again. In the follow-up conversation, Air-Tite indicated the windows should arrive in September. After no updates again, I called on 9/25 and was told the windows were due to arrive on 10/2 or 10/3, and that I would receive a call. Again, not hearing anything, I called on 10/4. Air-Tite responded that they believed the windows may have arrived and would get back to me on 10/7. 10/7 came and wentt without a response. Windows were finally installed on 10/30. It took 8 months from my initial order and over 4 months from the alternate window order for completion. At the end of the day I am satisfied with the quality of work, cost, and windows themselves. I also understand custom windows can take time, and am sympathetic if Air-Tite's vendor didn't communicate clear time frames, but I cannot understand the constant lack of timely follow up.
