This is the one of the worst experiences in ordering food, we ordered veg Bibimbob and came with beef inside. The girl who took our order at the counter said there is no option so they forced us to eat Beef. Vegetarian people are forced to have meat here and they have not mentioned in the menu about allergies warrant which requirements by county and state health dept. They are doing business in wrong way, we need to complain to AG office and report to County Health Dept. I am start taking serious on this issue!!! Ok, I just got the old saying"Just because you have the same name, don't mean you're the same." I went to the Food court to get another bowl of Raman soup ...totally disappointed ! The taste, size and experience was so different from the one in Hartsdale. I tried the fried pork belly as well; it had absolutely no taste and the dipping sauce was bland. The entire lunch was saved by the bakery. The buns were so delicious as well as the bubble tea. I purchased a couple packages of instant Raman and made it at home and was more happy with that. read more

I was in the area with the family on errands and we happened to see that this new hmart opened up. We needed some Asian groceries so we decided to check it out on the way home. We had seen the new one in Jericho and wondered how this would compare. Like the one in Jericho, it has a food court inside. A quick word on the supermarket side - of course it was plentiful, clean and beautiful (it was new!). And they had many sampler stations (naturally, on weekends). Price-wise, pretty standard but noticed many sale items presumably due to their grand opening status. Their food court was definitely impressive. They have a few themed shops (Chinese, Korean-Chinese, Korean, Japanese ramen) and a hot food bar (by the pound?). You order in one spot but pick up at the particular stall. You also return used trays to the stall. I noticed too late that they also had soup dumplings. An Asian bakery is on-site, of course. All four of us got something different. Tonkatsu ramen was just eh - the broth was a little off. My daughter said the pho was ok but they didn't provide lime or other usual condiments. My wife got a Korean beef stew which she said was pretty good. I had the jjajang myun (noodles with black bean sauce). By far the best. The noodles were perfect and the sauce was slightly less salty, which I prefer. Wished I lived closer to come here more often. read more

So glad my friends took me along with them when said we were going food shopping. Not knowing this market existed, I'm happy I found this gem. The produce here is fresh with both Asian and non-Asian food options. Big fan of the self-serve marinated BBQ section which offers some really delicious meat options. The food court offers a variety of different Asian cuisines such as Korean fried chicken, ramen, sashimi and dumplings just to name a few. Have no fear for those who aren't into Asian cuisine as they also have American fried food options such as chicken fingers, french fries, onions and more. There's also a bakery on hand for those with a sweet tooth. The employees are friendly and helpful. This market is a great addition to the neighborhood and a great option to get some food shopping in or to even stop in for a quick bite. A big plus is the amount of parking available. Hmart is not your average Supermarket that most are probably use to, but I recommend keeping an open mind and giving it a try. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at the huge selection of Korean items in the store and found everything that I was looking for. I do agree with another review that the cashiers are not very friendly. Two years running I have been going to H Mart with my family on my birthday. I'm an exciting guy, I know. Ha! We put the 4 year old in the cart and go on our "Asia adventure." We shop, gorge on samples and buy lunch in the food court. Last time, as soon as we came through the door on a rainy Saturday morning, there was a samples lady with Korean melon. This is what I adore about H Mart, I'm not totally unversed when it comes to Asian produce, but when I go there I always find something I have never seen before. Korean melon is fantastic, by the way. The kiddo loved it even more than I did and it turns out I brought home too few, as he and his buddy devoured them at snack time. Our favorite from the last trip, longons, were available at a very reasonable price. So good! After putting a whole lot of stuff from the produce aisle in my cart I picked up the very necessary kimchi. Turning to my right, my son asks a man working unpacking produce boxes what his name is. The man pleasantly responds that his name is David. My son's name is David. This trip to Yonkers is going very well, my son decides. Prices on fish are downright outstanding. Another poster mentioned the marinated meat section. I agree with him enthusiastically. They even had marinated chicken gizzards for $1.59 a lb (I think it was). Threw them in the pressure cooker and spooned them over rice the next day. Incredible. I'll try to wrap up this novella by calling out the samples ladies, who are very kind and enthusiastically pitch the products. I did purchase some neon orange fish sausages thanks to one of these ladies, and realized when I got them home that I don't care for them. Well played, sample lady. Well played. Also, this is the first time I have seen century eggs in a store, so I picked up a box of six to try. I also had bulk ginger that I bought for a song so I pickled that when I got home and had century eggs sashimi-style and in homemade congee. I'm a newfound fan. Also, the pouches of spicy pickled radish are to die for. I want to buy a pouch the size of my fridge crisper. In short, HMart is awesome, can't wait to go back. I usually love H Mart and I am shocked this happened but it's inexcusable. You have a serious problem at your Yonkers store! Every negative complaint I read about that store is about the management and how poorly customers are treated. I would have never believed it but I learned first hand how nasty and inappropriate your store managers can be. It was a cold rainy night and I wanted Oolong tea. I raced over to H Mart and arrived at the door at 9:45. I walked in and a man possibly a manager raced over and said the store was closed I pointed out that it was only 9:45 and the store hours are clearly posted and say they are open until 10pm. I told him I have 15min and I'm only buying one thing. He didn't care he said the store was closed and I had to leave. I asked him nicely again if I could just buy Oolong tea and leave. The man was screaming get out get out or I'll call the police. I turned around and left but I took his picture and the picture of the posted closing time and the cashiers still working. I'm writing this to make the owners aware of this man closing their store early and threatening their long time customers to leave. Hopefully someone at H Mart follows HMart's Core Competencies they have posted on their website and actually is Customer oriented! I go there basically every two to three weeks. The fruit and nuts are excellent. The tuna fish and cold cuts are head and shoulders above the rest. The checkout girls are very helpful and courteous . Came here specifically to get the marinated chicken meat which I had at a barbecue the other day which is insanely delicious. I had to stop and get bubble tea which was probably the best bubble tea I've ever had ($4.90 with tax for a taro tea with tapioca bubbles) we also stopped by the loaded fries station and got honey mustard fries, the staff was friendly but I wasn't too crazy about the fries. They also had crabs and lobsters which were fun to look at. Also- free samples galore, from fruit to grilled marinated meat pieces. read more

I'm obsessed with H Mart. The aisles are small and it's very crowded on the weekends. However, this is the best place to go when you're making an Asian dish or just want snacks from Asia. Not run as well as the one in Hartsdale. We returned a bag of cherries this morning on which you could literally taste the pesticide. Not a manager on the premises and staff on hand had no idea what we were saying and were just impatient. No refund offer. Do not buy the cherries unless they tell you that they have dealt with the pesticide issue. The cherries were from "Chili," meaning Chile I believe. Taro were good. No Chinese mustard. As a black man I experienced racism at this H Mart. I bought some fruit and went to the food court to join my daughter who had ordered hot foo. I asked the cashier for a for. She asked me if I paid for the fruit, I said yes. She proceeded to step out from behind the counter to see if the paid sticker was on it. The other cashier up front didn't put a sticker on it. I said to her again that I paid for it. She keeps on antagonizing me and I got upset. I told her that we (black people) are not all thieves. I said I paid for it and that I don't have to prove anything to her. She yelled at me in front of everyone that yes I do. I went to get the manager (took forever) and told him what happened and that I demand an apology from this employee. We went to her and they were speaking another language in front of me (rude) and she was still nasty and insisting that it should have had a sticker. She refused to apologize so I demanded a refund and let the manager know I will never shop there again. I told him what I know to be true (because I've dealt with Asians business workers being racist all my life); that if I were Asian, she would not have treated me that way. read more

I love this Yonkers Hmart. It's bigger/newer/cleaner than some of the older locations in Queens and NJ. Awesome selection of Asian and western groceries, staples and snacks. Great quality produce. The food court is huge with ample seating and so many options to choose from...Korean, Chinese, Japanese...from ramen to pho to Korean fried chicken or soup dumplings. Granted some of those options are not comparable to top notch restaurants while others are actually quite good. Weekends tend to be more crowded and that's when they bust out all the sample stations. I'd recommend chowing down on samples before heading over to the food court. Then round out the trip by filling your shopping carts with all things that an Asian kitchen needs and be adventurous and try new things that you've never had before. read more

After shopping in an HMart in North Carolina, I was on a mission to find one close to me in Connecticut. Sure enough, there are many locations just outside of NYC. They have several places to chose from in their food court, and have a wonderful produce section. This location may not be as big as the NC location, but it doesn't disappoint. The staff are friendly, and unless you speak the language (most of the employees there speak English as their 2nd language), communicating is a bit challenging. Towards the meat department, they have items readily available for hot pot making. They also have raw marinated meats for sale, that they serve in their food court. Really convenient to pick up, especially if you're on the go. As for the food court, there are several options to choose from. Korean, Japanese, and Chinese foods, as well as prepackaged bento-type foods. Even a hot buffet-style section. You order from one location, and pick up your food in front of the restaurant you ordered your food from. The only complaint we had was we were already at the 15-minute mark waiting for our food, when employees came to order their lunch. The people cooking our lunch pretty much stopped to cook their food, then finished with our order after theirs were done. Either way, we'll most definitely be back! read more

This is my favorite grocery store! They always have great promotions for H-Mart members, so make sure you sign up with their card. I love the free promotions because it's a great way to try products that I would've never otherwise thought to purchase. - They're the reason I love the big bottle of Aloe Water. The prices at H-Mart are FANTASTIC, especially on meat and produce. I haven't really found anything overpriced. Their food court is wonderful. My favorite part? Kat, the cashier! I think she's a manager at one of the food spots. She's so funny and really knows the menu well! So helpful! Soooooo I don't even know where to start. I live like 5 minutes away from H mart. I can Actually see it from my window. Anyhow , I went there yesterday to eat with my sister and cousin. I had two number C12. The beef dish. Today I woke up with food poisoning. I've never been this sick. I've spent all my day in the bathroom throwing up. Considering the fact that it was my first time there it was not a good experience whatsoever. My first and LAST TIME I ever step my foot inside H Mart. The menu and layout are different than the H Mart in Hartsdale, at least from what I could tell from looking it over before ordering. No Tous Les Jour, unfortunately. However, they do have soup dumplings here and that's a welcome addition since it's not an easy dish to find in Yonkers. The regular dumplings were a bit of a downgrade from those at the other location and were average at best. The new location is much more modern and sleek. I did a cursory look of the supermarket area and it seems that they have everything the other location has in terms of groceries. They also have a makeup section near the entrance too. Overall, a welcome addition to the area. If food quality can stay consistent, it should do very well for itself and is worth a visit. read more

Omg. Best H Mart ever. It's spacious. Plenty of parking. Has an ample number of food court options in addition to a bakery. I actually ran into one of my non-Asian attendings who grabs dinner at the food court on his way home. It's not just Korean food but there are other Asian grocery items such as Filipino (including ice cream), Chinese, Japanese in addition to what you would find in non-Asian grocery stores. The prices I find are about the same to LA Korean grocery store pricing. And even some of the fresh grocery items like green onions and fruits are cheaper than the grocery stores closest to my house!!!! It even has a beauty shop where they sell Korean cosmetics. They have a self serve marinated BBQ section where you can choose how much Korean galbi, daeji galbi, etc. It's clean, closer to home, and I will definitely be coming here to do all my grocery shopping. read more

Finally was able to catch a ride with family heading to h mart last weekend. They like to browse and shop, eat till the discounts starts happening in the evening. Tip: if you see and item discounted and you're thinking if you should grab it TAKE IT ASAP. The reason is if you come back to item later on it will be G O N E. Got few sushi plates for lunch to take back home with me. Really glad I went, I've always wanted to try Katsudon and was able to at H mart. It was super yummy. The pork was crunchy and rice was sweet, but not too sweet. Be mindful of the spiced food there, my mother had the tofu spicey ramen. She had it last time, but this time it was wayyy too spicy for her and she could barely finish it. Had to order and extra plate of rice so she could eat the rest. Marinated Korean kalbi, bulgogi, chicken legs available along with already fresh cleaned salmon fish in packages. Skinless chicken legs for low-fat minded customers are freshly packaged. Seasonings for a variety of dishes you see in Korean Cooking sites. Kimchi, jabche, bibimbap, all kinds of ban Chan. All Cashiers are friendly. The aisles are adjusted to fulfill many types of ethnic dishes with teas, noodle soups, Korean chips and candy you don't see in other stores in Whole Foods. They rented out separate Chinese, Japanese and Korean food court, deli inside along with a bakery. Cleaning supplies, beautmasks, shampoos and germ fighting cleaners are in stock. This is a huge supermarket with a great selection of produce and seafood. H Mart is a great resource for hard-to-find fruits and vegetables. They carry exotic items like fresh jackfruit, durian and bitter melon. This was my first time here and I will definitely come back. The staff is very friendly, it's cafeteria style. The food is delicious. There is so much to choose from. I had dumplings which were great, they were meaty and bursting with flavor while being crispy on the outside. We also had the seafood hot rice pot which was also very good and flavorful, they were not cheap with the seafood either which is a big plus. And I had the spicy dumpling ramen which was also good.
