Their vibe is cheerful, displayed in various shoppers' decorum. I have been coming since 2002 and there is always a steady flow of shoppers, and you will find workers replenishing stock in the midst of shopping. I stopped in today for items to make a salad. I do make a mean salad if I must admit. Although I did not find herring in the can, nor did I find mackerel, I did find trout in the can. something new to add to my palate. Larchmont Trader Joe's has a way better parking lot than the Scarsdale/Eastchester location. It was a thrill to find one where you will find plenty of spots and space! (apparently TJs is known for horrendous parking) The store's interior is also quite massive and spacious. The aisles are wide with good proximity to move around. Trader Joe's - Larchmont Thought I wrote a review of this location. On my most recent visit I came in to get a few staples plus two of my frozen favorites, Colorful Carrot Coins and Colorful Cauliflower. Neither were stocked. Oh well, we all know how it works with TJs. Some of your favorites will disappear and then reappear in new packaging or simply never appear again. It takes getting used to, but there's always something else you can find to experiment with. Nevertheless, I do recommend this TJs as with most locations their staff members are always helpful, choice of other creative products are available to substitute for your favorite and of course decent pricing. This is my favorite location by far. The staff at this store is consistently helpful and friendly. Regardless to the day of the week, I generally have no issue with picking up my tried and true items, plus trying a new favorite. The only item that goes quickly are the hash browns in the frozen food section. I recommend getting at least 2 or 3 at a time. And don't be discouraged by the parking lot or how packed TJ's is, they move quick and there's never a long checkout line. read more

I finally visited the trader Joe's in Larchmont and as always I am never dissatisfied or disappointed. Large parking lot , spacious inside with all the good stuff easy to find and organized from aisle to aisle , Check is a breeze as many cashier are open and have them bags ready to fill em up with the goodies . From A to Z , TJ has it all and prices are reasonable when you consider the quality .I enjoy the bags of sweets , canned goods especially the veggie chili , waffles , olive spread ,raw cheese , the whole wheat grain crackers and many more that is too long of a list to mention. Even the doggy snacks are great and I can't leave out another favorite of mine , the chocolate jelly bars . As usual the staff is friendly and helpful. That is one of the most important factors. Items are mostly in stock and what's not in stock they will try and get (looking at you shrimp burgers). The staff is amazingly helpful. If I only have one item and its busy, they've opened a register to get me out faster. If I'm puzzling over an item on a shelf an employee generally asks if I need help and if I have any questions. They are more than helpful at the manager desk to look up if an item is discontinued, or will be arriving (I had a huge craving for the Maple Leaf Cookies in August). During the pandemic stores have not stocked as many items but this is not the fault of the staff. Do check dates when you grab items, sometimes items are not FIFO-ed or very soon to expire items are left on the refrigerated shelves. Parking as typical for every Trader Joe's location I've been to is horrible and I park as far as possible to prevent any dings in my car. Every single time I go here I am floored by how nice and genuinely helpful the employees are. They seem like they actually care about helping you find something. It kind of bugs me out. Like, how do they manage to find all of these wonderful people they hire? I am so used to regular grocery stores where you ask where something is and they tell you which aisle and walk away. Here, they walk you over and help you find it. If it is missing, they offer to check the back. And if there is none in the back, they offer to check to see when it will come in. Every. Single. Time. I've been to the Trader Joe's in Hartsdale and this one in Larchmont, and I have to say, I prefer this location. As many have said, the staff are friendly and the times I've been here, they usually have a nice selection of items. For example, I found this superb garlic eggplant pepper dip that Hartsdale didn't have in stock at the time, but Larchmont seems to consistently have. The location is convenient for anyone in southeast Westchester and/or the Bronx, but it's a crowded area, on Boston Post Rd so it can get crowded in this shopping center and the parking lot is definitely cramped, in terms of the spaces and the lanes are one ways which can be annoying. I really enjoy coming here for a change of scenery, but definitely not somewhere I can get all my grocery shopping done, more for certain specialty items. I recommend coming during an off hour, and you'll likely have a great all around experience and discover some great tasting, cool items. By the way, Trader Joe's owns Aldi, so they have many similar items (maybe with different packaging). Not saying that's good or bad, just interesting to know. read more

As a Bronx resident Trader Joe's (Larchmont) is a full 3+ miles further away from me then the closest city location on 96th street and noticeably smaller in size. However, it is always well stocked with all my TJ's necessities that are easily accessible. The staff is really friendly and super fast. Those factors alone are worth the minor extra mileage imo. Then when you add the bonus factor of the availability of a parking lot, all the stars are in alignment. I will always elect to drive the extra miles and pay a possible $1.75 ($1.66 w/ E-ZPass) toll (avoidable depending on your route) to come here. Just A Note: Open until 9pm daily. read more

Given that this is a fairly small Trader Joe's, it still carries a lot of great stuff and I am pleased that it has a good size parking lot to accommodate its customers. The best things about this TJ's are its customer service workers, and the cleanliness of the store. There is always a friendly face there to check you out quickly or help you find something if you need. Even returns are handled with a smile!! The place is well stocked, though it is a small store, but all the basics are there! I also love that you do not have to empty your cart- they do it for you, so you don't have to lift much. Super convenient Trader Joe's location in Larchmont. I just pull in and pull out right onto Boston Post Rd on my way home and I can pick up food necessities for a quick dinner. This one being in suburbia, you don't get the insane madhouse lines that snake through the entire store like you see in Manhattan. The most I've ever seen is 2-3 people at each checkout register and each person working them is always pleasant and polite. Service with a smile! Very hard to find these days. I always liked TJo's for their business model and practices. Just about everything they sell is their own brand or small vendor sourced, which gives them great quality control and unique inventory if you want to try something new. The sample kiosk towards the back of the store always features a new food item for you to taste. You can wash it down with a free coffee sample right next to it. What I really like are the bananas for a flat rate of 19 cents each, no matter how big or small. Or you can opt to get the organic ones for 29 cents each. The produce for the most part are really fresh. Other staple items like milk and orange juice are TJ brands also and are on par in price with your neighborhood grocer or supermarket. One thing that impresses me about TJ's is their commitment to environmentally friendly practices. They use recycled paper bags (no plastic), but also give you a credit for bringing your own reuseable shopping bag. read more

Trader Joe's aims to provide standard groceries but with a larger selection of healthy/organic products. Compared to other "healthy" grocery stores such as Whole Foods and Fresh Market, Trader Joe's are usually smaller in size. This may cut back slightly on selection but it adds to the charm. The nautical theme and overall decor augment that charm - making their stores look more like mom-and-pop shops rather than a chain. This specific location expanded a few years back - taking over the space that housed that God-awful restaurant Belizzi's. They carry some brand names but most of their selection has their name stamped on the product. Don't let these "generics" fool you - I've never found that quality suffers just because it's their house brand. In addition to the healthy stuff they have a large frozen section and a lot of sweets to choose from. If you come around the holidays there are even more candies and such to choose from. I've always found the customer service at this Trader Joe's to be top-drawer, all the staff are super friendly. I've read that the company treats its employees well and it definitely shows in their morale and commitment to their job. Trader Joe's may not have everything you're looking for when doing your regular food shopping, but for what it stands for it does a good job, and is a nice alternative to the larger health food stores. read more

They keep many lanes open and rarely is there a long wait. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I have never gotten frowns, snears, or even fake happy. Things are well organized and if you don't see what you want staff will check the back or have told me the expected delivery date. I'd avoid Monday cause I find the selection is the most sparse then. This is by far my favorite Trader Joe's in the area, mainly because it is less crowded and has a more spacious layout than the ones in Hartsdale, Scarsdale, etc, and there is always enough parking whenever I come here. The staff here are approachable, and even at their worst the lines aren't as bad as other locations in the area. This review is for this specific location, because my rating of Trader Joe's as a chain would be much lower. Even though I love TJ's for certain things, the vegetables and fruit are consistently very bad. They aren't fresh, so they go bad in just a two or three days, and because of this I don't do the majority of my grocery shopping here. I always like to come here when I'm in Larchmont because the lines are easy compared to a New York City Trader Joe's line. they also have a really good selection for a relatively small store. they were also very helpful when you have a problem like when I was double charged for an item that I only bought one of. the first person I called wasn't that helpful but then she had me talk to the supervisor who was perfect. I will definitely go back there again and I really appreciate them understanding me being upset for being double charged on an expensive item. I will always go there whenever I'm in Larchmont. Our local Trader Joe's is pretty good. Not as large as some others I've been to, but this store is stocked with everything one would need to fill their pantry. The staff is crazy friendly and they try to be as helpful as possible. The store is always clean, which is very important to me. The produce is quality, plentiful and cheap. They also have a good number of vegan friendly foods, as well as plenty of unhealthy snack food options too! Our dog loves their jerky strips and parsley bones. Sometimes the aisles can get a bit crowded. I would recommend staying away on Saturdays and Sundays. The parking lot has been a bit hairy for the last few months. Not as crazy as the legendary Silverlake store in LA, but crazy nonetheless. Usually, I just park on the other end of the lot rather than try to navigate the maze of bubbleworld housewives, aggressive yuppie dads and unsupervised children running in front of cars. read more

One of the best stores in supermarket retail which is true for most Trader Joe's but this one is a bit more special. First, it starts with an awesome staff - everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and looking to please. Second the product selection is excellent and corporate is doing a good job with product innovation. Third, the prices are absurd - consistently way better than the competition and the Trader Joe's brand has earned my trust. With all the goodness does come some weaker aspects. The parking situation is dreadful - poor corporate planning on understanding the amount of traffic Trader Joe's would generate. There have been times I've had to wait 10+ minutes on just finding a spot. Second, the store is out of stock often, especially at night. This makes sense given the popularity but there are new data analytics tools that the store should be using to predict demand. Other retailers have used this successfully, so why can't Trader Joe's? Regardless of its faults, this store is fantastic. The employees are even better. I'd rank it as one of the top ten reasons to live in Larchmont/Mamaroneck. read more

I went to Trader Joe's yesterday early in the morning for the Seniors-only entry. I arrived about 20 minutes early, and there were already around 30-40 people in line. TJ's had drawn chalk marks in the sidewalk to indicate the 6-ft. social distancing guidelines, and people were observing them. TJ's let in around 20 people to start, and then would let in an additional 5 whenever other shoppers were done and leaving the store, so it was a somewhat slow process, but extremely well-organized. When I finally got in the store, around 8:20 a.m., I was surprised to find the store entirely stocked, with only 1 item that I know of missing (Asian peanut salad dressing). It was the first time in weeks I had been in a store that didn't feel like shopping during Soviet-era Russia. Stores like Whole Foods and Fairway are still having severe supply-chain issues, with practically no frozen foods and missing the majority of their items in every department. By contrast, it was such a pleasure to find everything that I needed (even toilet paper!!!!) at Trader Joe's. The staff was very helpful and friendly, unlike at Whole Foods (though I don't blame the Whole Foods staff--it appears they have been terribly mistreated by Amazon and management). Checkout was easy and professional, and all in all it was the first positive grocery shopping experience I've had since the beginning of the current crisis. Way to go, Trader Joe's! P.S.
