Very clean, quaint and cute supermarket with mostly Italian finds. This supermarket is located in an awesome plaza with lots of different shops. From wine to food, desserts to bath bombs, there's lots to do and it's a one stop shop. The supermarket layout is pretty basic and straightforward with enough variety but not too much to overwhelm you. This was my first time in Balducci's and it reminded me (in the best way possible) of a hybrid between DeCicco's and The Fresh Market - but of course, smaller. The owner of the supermarket brand is Albertsons (what a throwback lol!). Expect to buy quality foods, international finds, gourmet ingredients and they even offer catering. Their baked goods like cupcakes and cakes are all imported from other locations but I will say they're delish and great quality. read more

I just went to this location to get some groceries and it was really nice and big. I remember Balducci's in New York City when it was popular. The food prices were to be expected but you get quality for it. The layout was very good and it wasn't crowded for a Friday morning at 10:00. They also have bathrooms which are highly recommended and clean. The staff was very friendly which is not New York. read more

Very impressed with balducci's I couldn't believe how clean it was inside. The main reason why I came to balducci's was because they carry a particular brand I like called force of nature. Force of nature is a company based out of texas that sells high end regenerative meats. As a carnivore this is a great company and the meats are reasonably priced. They have a nice variety of meats in the frozen food section like bison, venison and this ancestral blend. I will definitely be a regular going forward and can't wait to explore the rest of the grocery store! read more

Possible to give this store a zero star. I visited this Store this morning. The Parmesan cheese on the front display has mould growing on every piece. The prepackaged ham is out of days. They constantly sell out of date food. Be careful if you shop here! I would not recommend this place. read more

It's a small market but with some really good items on the shelves you can't find in a lot of places. Especially those with food allergies. Bakery, seafood section and coldcuts look pretty appetizing for a ready to serve dinner. To bad I live far because I make this my go to market. read more

I am a big fan of Balduccis, mostly because the quality of people they hire. The butcher is amazing, and so are the people in both the seafood section and the prepared food areas. I have one huge complaint and it will impact how often I shop at Balduccis going forward. Pre pandemic I ate at the hot food bar at least 4 times a week. I love the quality and selections. Post pandemic I have come in dozen times and left frustrated. Ive tried saying something but no changes to date. I give up. It is not worth the 15 minute drive to find out that: 1. The same foodbis being served over and over again. 2. The food choices are not seasonal. Shepards pie and Lasagna are great in fall and winter but not appetizing in summer. 3. Too many carbs served together. Do we need to serve two types of lasagna and mac and cheese on the same day? Please put someone in charge of the hot food that has a better understanding of food. So disappointed, Im gonna start going to Citarellas which is 3 minutes from my house and save myself the trouble. read more

They sold me food expired 3 months ago. Didn't expect that. Food tasted odd so I checked the label... for many of the items with a 20 to 50% markup over wholefoods i thought i could expect at least fresh food from Balducci's. The new Rye Brook location vaults Balducci's back into the lead of Westchester area gourmet markets. Larger and more impressive than the Scarsdale store, this venue is built to compete with Citarella's in Greenwich, Tarry Market, and the Whole Foods that have arisen in the past decade. The prepared foods counter repeats many of the classic items from other Balducci's. One day in, the food looks well prepared, unlike the sense of being not quite ready for prime time that pervaded Citarella at opening. We plumped for the broccoli rabe and the spinach, standouts from the other stores. The fish counter, like that of the Scarsdale shop is small - we chose some good looking swordfish, but wild salmon was not on offer. A scary looking skate added visual interest to the proceedings. The large meat counter was top notch. The special item, cowboy rib steaks at !4.99 were our choice, along with their standout chicken apple sausage. There are extensive refrigerated offerings, soups, charcuterie, salads, hummus. Cakes and pastries were pretty much the same as Scarsdale, but bread offerings seemed to be expanded. Brioche loafs in cream and chocolate were new. Produce offerings were similar to other Balducci's, that is to say of high quality and somewhat overpriced. Join Balducci's frequent shopper program and you will get 10% off, once a month, which brings prices down to earth. The check out lanes are abundant and currently staffed with veterans from their other stores. All in all, a job well done Balducci's. read more

Hot food and salad bar are excellent. The food is super fresh and good quality. The items are prepared in house and fresh. They have jumbo shrimp, caviar and the best limes I've ever had. The food is pricey but the quality does not disappoint. However, the staff is not well trained so do not bother to ask questions....because they will say I don't know and not even try to get an answer. There is virtually no management presence and that is disappointing in light of the prices they charge. read more

SOME of their employees could use some cultural sensitivity training. White employees smile and are friendlier to white customers than to minorities. I notice this every time I step into that store. As a minority I don't need a poker face and indifference being projected at me. Treat everyone the same and if you can't be friendly with ALL PEOPLE, don't work in the service industry. Very disappointing experience with the cashier named Sheree that checked us out tonight. Hers was the only lane that was open and we began putting our items down and said a friendly "Hi, how are you?" Of course she didn't answer or acknowledge us because she was too busy on a personal phone call and waited until we had unloaded every single item (and she finished her phone call) to even start scanning. My second quibble is that she then started roughly opening all the reusable bags I brought for produce, taking out each item and handling it before throwing it back in the bag without closing it. I'm sorry, but it's not rocket science to greet people when they approach your lane and not be on the phone. If you hate customers so much, don't work with the general public! It's too bad as I have no other issue with this store, which is always clean and well stocked. Most of the employees are very nice and helpful, but this woman could really use a retraining on working with customers. Awful. read more

I love this place! I grab a healthy lunch 5 days a week here and am never disappointed. I hold back a single star because there is no recycling receptacles available for in-store diners. Considering how many plastic containers and glass bottles I'm personally disposing of a month (20+!!) Id love to see this changed. Great store!!!! Love their warm and fresh layout. I go to Balducci's for their meat market and fresh ready to go meals - primarily because I trust I can find a good variety of grass fed, farm to butcher meats selected and cut. Eating grass fed instead of grain fed meats - its cleaner and healthier and there aren't many market around that carry the variety I find here.. What I also like the most is the friendly and professional staff. I am happy to see Andrea Sanna from their Scarsdale location leading the meat market department. read more

Fabulous food market. More of an upscale Superette than a gourmet market. Those of you that are looking for the old Balducci's of yesteryear on 6th Ave, this isn't it. That being said, worth traveling to. We will be back. read more

I really hope management sees this review. There is a major problem at this location. The main issue are a few very unwelcoming and poorly trained cashiers. Most often, there is no smile, no eye contact and no warm welcome and definitely no thank you so much for your service feeling. There's no way to establish a rapport of familiarity and this results in a frustrating shopping experience. The training is also an issue, for example roughly scanning/handling beautiful expensive wrapped chocolates intended for gifting and then cramming them into a too small bag. It's unclear how the selection for cashiers is done, but there is a total lack of professionalism and customer respect. There is one cashier who is excellent, and should be acknowledged. His name is David and he is outstanding in his genuine customer care. The food offering is a B+, with improvements needed in fresh produce (potatoes and onions are already moldy and tomatoes and blueberries already mushy at point of purchase), the butchery (the head butcher is a pro, but the staff needs major training on butchering and wrapping), the takeout food (needs fresher, more appealing options), and the bakery needs fresher, tastier offerings as well. Please take this advice to heart. I rarely write reviews but am terribly bothered by how poorly this location and staff are managed. It really seems to be a hiring issue. Thank you. read more
