You would think that a supermarket with such an expansive variety would be enticing. That is what I thought. I started my visit with an order from Yea's Kitchen. The fried chicken is exceptional and the service (called in) was excellent. I did purchase some refrigerated spicy ramen and other goods. Upon arriving home I immediately placed the ramen in the refrigerator. I did not eat it right away, but decided to about three weeks later. Whoa upon opening the sealed package I noticed mold inside the ramen noodles. The second package was also infected. The expiration date was January 2022, so no worries for a return since I had the original receipt. Guess again. I presented the rotted ramen along with the receipt and the customer service witch said their policy was 'refrigerated returns must be within 24 hours.' WTF!!! Who returns a product a day later, especially living 45 minutes away. She refused to exchange the rotten product! They lost a customer over a $3.99 product. GREAT GREAT buy Asian supermarket in mid island. I used to go to the H mart in Queens all the time. I was so happy since I heard from my friend that this one would be opened in Jericho, because no more crazy traffic to Queens. It is a huge one! Yes, I mean huge!!! You can find everything which is usually you can find in Queens. They also have many things you won't find in Queens. For example, I found crabs in soy source which is the first time I have seen in the US. Another thing makes me so happy is the food court. We try the fried chicken and the rice cake. Wonderful food and so fresh. Always long wait but it worth it. If you are a sushi lover, don't forget their sushi bar. I bought the uni in the bar which is great. Very fresh and sweet. Remember to go to the seafood area, they have free ice for you to pack with your sushi and keep them cool. I was trying to buy the cake in the bakery, but I give up. I think the bakery is the only thing which was disappointed. Cakes looks like from last week, not fresh. This location also has more traditional American food to buy, too. Not only good for Asians. I'm glad we finally have a big Korean supermarket nearby with some friendly employees. When I'm shopping I like to drop by Delimanjoo (inside the store) for some taiyaki. I have to say hmart is not just a supermarket. We come here to shop for groceries a few times a month but we mainly come for the "food court". It's a small little area that serves up hot Korean food and it's pretty darn good... That is till we came today and saw that they finally have kalbi!!! We usually go to the hmart on Francis Lewis in queens cause they have kalbi but I think we will be coming here more often. The kalbi is also 2 bucks cheaper than the Francis Lewis hmart. We also go the donkatsu and when it came out... My jaw dropped.... The donkatsu was the size of my face.. I kid you not... And it was topped with a sweet tangy gravy sauce... After coming back from Japan and eating donkatsu there... It just was never the same here again.. no way US could compete with Japan on donkatsu... I couldn't enjoy donkatsu anymore... But I would say today was a good first stop to mending that long road to enjoying donkatsu again.. the only thing I would change and add.. is if they doused it with a curry gravy sauce and added cheese... But again.. they have kalbi now and it is good. read more

This is my favorite Korean market. It has so many variety and choices when it comes to meats, sauces, spices and just amazing food.

Were it not for its Asian specialty foods , and a clientele tolerant of rude , disrespectful behavior on the part of management , I do not see how this place could possibly stay in business . Of all the supermarkets we have frequented during the 16 months of the Covid19 epidemic , management of this place has been , by far , the least considerate and attentive to the needs or concerns of its patrons ........ and being a senior citizen or a regular customer makes no difference ( about 40 visits over the last 4 years for us ) . My patience reached the breaking point last Wednesday , April 28 , 2021 . On my way home after receiving my J and J vaccine , H Mart was a convenient stop , being right off of Northern State and on my route to two public libraries . On my previous visit April 16 , patrons were funneled past a security guard and required to show your receipt before being allowed to exit ( seriously , this is not a joke ! ) . At this point , I no longer purchase fresh produce , condiments , sweets or natural soaps here , as such can be obtained at many other venues with infinitely better customer service ; Korean and Chinese pancakes are the only items here that can't easily be obtained elsewhere ....... As I approached the entrance , someone standing along 107 was waving people in ( very strange ) ; one could only wonder what new adventure the management had in store this time around ...... I soon found out ! I took exactly four boxes of pancakes , two each of two varieties ( red bean and leek , not that it matters ) and placed them in my little Target bag . NOW , HERE'S THE CLINCHER : In every other market where hand scanners are available ( Stop and shop , Shoprite , Stu Leonard's , Home Goods/Marshalls ) , if you ask the cashier to hand scan an item several times , they believe you ( why would I want to pay for five packages of turkey bacon if I am only buying one ? ) ; in this time of social distancing and constant hand washing , why have one's food items handled more than necessary , and why place them on a conveyor where large boxes/cartons taken from the floor are frequently placed ( the selection at H Mart is VERY eclectic ) ? ....... While my gentle cashier scanned my first pancake box twice , she got the eye from a manager I recognized ( and who should have recognized me after 4 years of patronage ) . He came over and insisted I empty the contents of my bag on the conveyor AND THEN ACCUSED ME OF STEALING , DEMANDING I OPEN MY VEST AND ASKING WHAT WAS INSIDE ! . I WOULD NOT LET THE &*^%$%^** , TOUCH ME , and used some ripe language to explain that the bulge in my left hand pocket contained driving gloves ......... One year ago ( at the start of the Covid mess ) I was similarly insulted by another manager here , posted my thoughts on Yelp , and received a reply from the very concerned owner ( perhaps that was the guy standing on 107 trying to wave in customers ) ; however , feigning concern about how seniors are treated in his establishment on Yelp is not the same as actually treating your patrons with understanding and decency . There is precious little here that can not be obtained less expensively and more efficaciously elsewhere . Apologies from the owner will fail to impress me this time around . read more

Absolutely love this place. It is big, bright and always super clean. The produce department has a vast variety of fruits and veggies. The seafood department has everything from your common tilapia and shrimp to a more rare geoduck or monkfish. The meat department is stocked with beautifully sliced and packed meats for Korean BBQ which are either fresh or marinated. There is also a wide variety of beef, pork, chicken and lamb in every cut. As you walk through the store there are multiple stands offering free samples of different food. read more

Very clean and a beautiful place to do all your shopping needs. A huge selection on all the veggies that you need. There are plenty of the organically grown goods that you could imagine. First time going is a bit confusing but I'm sure I will get that hang of it. Sushi and fresh fish area. You can also get cookware and a blanket. Very different type of store. Came to this HMart in search of some Korean delights and did not know the Hicksville location had a cafe. Let me just say it beats driving to Flushing or Bayside to eat Korean Food. Definitely enjoyed my Pork Katsu and my wife loved the bibimbop. We will be back to try their Soy Garlic Chicken for sure. read more

I know it is an Asian market but they should try to help everyone that doesn't understand what the products are. No communication and a very rude. I live right next to this store and go to Shoprite in Plainview to shop as Shoprite will help you find anything and actually ask you if you need help. I did find it clean. When you sell items written in another language than English, they should have people walking around trying to assist you and help you learn, half the food I didn't know what to do with it.To difficult to shop there. read more

One star is too high for my experience, definitely not recommend for anyone to shop there. Bought a gallon milk and other groceries with my kids yesterday, the expiration on the milk is 22 of September(we bought it at 20th) kids found out the milk was bad, wasn't planning to return it til find out is was $4 for gallon of milk. Brung it to the store trying to get exchange but ending up be insulted by customer service in front of my kids, saying that milk wasn't brought there at yesterday even though I had the receipt to proof. The H-Mart store opened a year ago (~2017) in this neighborhood. The quality of their products are good in general. But we had really bad experience with their meat department today - the Ribeye Roll/Shabu taste like wood instead of beef. The return experience is not so good either, the customer service person didn't even trust as I described and can't return the box that opened - understandable! but if I don't open the box, how can I know the meat taste so bad? read more

I've been shopping at this HMart since they opened. I'm so glad they are in the neighborhood and I especially enjoy the access to fresh seafood (fish). The place has always been decently ventilated every time I go there (at least once a week). There are also other "stores" that are separate from HMart within the place (bakery, cosmetics, hot food court, chicken place). Sometimes you might smell the food from the food court upon entering but that's about it. The place has always been clean and the employees are always keeping things neat and clean. I enjoy the selection and the sales that they offer. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the prices are a bit higher than other Asian markets (generally comparable to Whole Foods- some things cheaper than others and some more expensive which is why I shop at both.) However, the quality overall is usually better. read more

While the store has a variety of items..some to the likes of wholefoods...the quality is not. The cashier's are snippy and seem to be favoring the Korean clientele. I bought two items and the cashier asked if i wanted a bag, I responded Yes please..she replies..really, need a bag? I again said yes..she chuckles and says something in Korean to her friend... The customer is always right guys..if you can't focus on customer service, get out of the buisness! I'd rather go to whole foods for sure. This supermarket is massive! I believed it used to be Waldbaum's. There is a small food court area, hot food buffet, Delimanjoo, sushi, Tonymoly, ginseng store, and the usual supermarket sections. There are American and other ethnic items but mostly Korean. They even have a Korean BBQ raw meat buffet section. You choose what type of meat you want and it gets weighed. Because of the size, there are more selection and quantity of all the items. During the weekday, it is not crazy busy. Makes shopping comfortable. read more

Highly recommend this Hmart in Jericho. No more need to venture out to Mitsuwa over in Jersey. They had a Bluefin Tuna show where they allowed customers to sample it fresh within minutes of it being cut! It was so good... The food court will satisfy all palettes! I have a big family and a couple of young kids who are always into changing their diet. I usually cook traditional American dishes but wanted to try something new. My daughter goes to school in Westbury and discovered an Asian supermarket that she said she would love to try , so I explored a bit. First of all, I love the flower selection that these guys have. Beautiful presentations. Very organized and even have a whole section for korean skin care which is amazing. I ended up getting some Korean drinks that they offered and some fish. Pretty good place! As much as I love HMart, I would trade it to get my Waldbaum's back! Still, I like it here very much. The staff is just terrific and there are a lot of fresh produce choices. If you are interested in Asian foods at all (particularly seafood & snacks), you will love this place. If you like anything at all flavored with green tea or matcha, this place is Nirvana. Their prepared foods are quite good & the staff is eager to explain any food you might be unfamiliar with. Prior to opening, many people in the neighborhood were apoplectic in anticipation of an anti-Caucasian workplace & store, but it is a welcoming store w/ a multi-cultural staff. If you just want produce, meat, seafood or any staples common in any home on Long Island you will find it here, but it's really a destination for Asian foods -- so much so that it reminds me of Los Angeles, where you could get any kind of Japanese food you were after. read more

So disappointed with the Korea Town food court. I've gone there to eat many times before shopping and the food is always delicious. But yesterday my sister, niece and I each got bi bim bop and is was HORRIBLE. It was very bland, the meat tasted gamey and smelled off. We were so disgusted that we threw it out--such a waste! They have a restaurant inside the store that serves Korean food. I've eaten here quite often. It's one of the more authentic Korean food places you can go to in Nassau County. While yes, there are nicer places in Queens, this is close by if you don't live in New York City, and the food is good. As a grocery store, they also offer a wide selection of Korean and Chinese items that are difficult to find elsewhere, and they have American groceries as well. I absolutely recommend coming here if you've never been, and I recommend trying the food at the restaurant. read more

I love Hmart. Every time I go there I have to give myself a time limit. They have some of the best produce around. All Korean needs satisfied. All of the pickled condiments! Not to mention they have awesome meat and seafood section. They don't carry fresh duck like the other Asian stores which is kind of a bummer but seriously is that the only bad thing I can come up with?? Umm...Also, for those of us who love fried chicken....before you go shopping, go to the food court side and order yourself some. Doesn't matter which flavor. It's like Nike....just do it. By the time you start calming down from the awesomeness of the store you'll be ready to grab your fried chicken and get yourself together.
