H-Mart is my go-to for seafood. They have a super wide selection of seafood but also of fruits and vegetables. As a matter of fact they have everything in this location. A market to buy fresh cut sushi, or hot rice. They have a little food court so you can also order food and eat there. A plethora of Asian skin care products, pots, pans, tea pots, just about everything you would need to pull off an Asian themed dinner or any dinner for that matter. I usually stop in an pick up a pack of snow crab legs. They range in price but usually around $40-$45 a pack. It's a must you check this place out if you've never been. You might catch yourself wondering up and down the aisles for hours. They also have a ton of locations so make sure to use yelp to choose the closest one to you! read more

This H Mart is hands down my favorite one to shop at. Compared to other supermarkets I've shopped at, this one is always fully stocked with everything I need and very clean. Although I'm very pleased with this store the only downside are the employees. They aren't the friendliest. With the most recent visit I had at this store, the cashier didn't even speak to me nor did she spare me a glance. When it was time to pay for my items, the only thing she did was turn the monitor towards me so that I could see how much everything cost. I was assuming she was having a bad day but the least she could have done was acknowledge me being there. I still plan on shopping at this particular location but I just hope that the staff can do better. read more

I had the most amazing cake from the bakery today. I have had their cakes 3 times now for work events and consistently great.

Shopping experience is awesome. They restock periodically and the staff are very friendly. Special sale prices are excellent and it's always a joy to walkabout and see what's on deal this week. Produce is very fresh as well. Food court is not so good. I order their boneless chicken at least once every 2 weeks and quality really went down recently. Paid 27 dollars for a couple of breadcrumbs yesterday. Awful experience there. It used to be great last month; I don't know why they stopped caring. read more

One of the things I miss after moving out of nyc is hmart. While visiting my sister in Long Island, I had to check it out. There is a wide array of fresh produce and veggies, meat, seafood, marinated meat/fermented veggies, asian snacks/drinks, utensil, and prepped food to list a few. I love the sampling stations where we get to try fried chicken, dumplings, amongst other korean food items. The food court and bakery are added bonus as well. The items from the food court are generous in serving, they are delicious as well. I wasn't too crazy about the fish cake as it was more flour than anything, so avoid them at all cost! read more

So excited to see an H Mart open up on my route from work. This H Mart has so much more than the one I've been to. They have a few areas for food either premade or made to order. I personally love to get some desserts at delimanjoo. These are desserts in a shape of a fish and typical filled with a paste or cream. The produce section has many Asian vegetables and fruits you can't get normally at a regular supermarket. They also have huge sections for the seafood counter and butchery section. There is lots of types of meat to choose from in many preparations. From hot pot to pre-marinated meats, there is a great selection. They usually have some workers offering free samples of some of the products they sell there. There is also a small section of the Tony Molly Korean beauty products in the front for those who are interested with nice workers willing to help. read more

*Check your receipts* I feel like there is some basis to the one star reviews. I've had cashiers accidentally ring up items twice and there have been price discrepancies. I will also say that I've never been treated rudely. In fact, the cashiers and individuals that manned the customer service were always very apologetic when the aforementioned instances happened. They also made sure everything was corrected. In fact, the gentleman pictured in another yelper's post as the "rudest people ever" was the most apologetic that I came across. For the uninitiated, H Mart is a Korean supermarket chain. This location opened just a few months ago. The parking lot and subsequently the supermarket can get annoyingly crowded on the weekends. Best to shop relatively early in the morning on weekdays to avoid the crowds. I prefer to use H Mart to satisfy our Asian food cravings. I opt to pick up everyday items like milk, "regular" fruits and veggies, chicken, etc. at other supermarkets. I find that the everyday items are priced higher at H Mart so I'd only purchase them here if I'm in a pinch for time. There are some gluten free offerings, but they're scattered throughout the store. So if you're looking for things like GF soy sauce and GF oyster sauce, you can find it here. Tons of pre-made banchan (Korean side dishes) to choose from. They also carry a few Japanese, Vietnamese, Filipino, and Chinese food. There's also a small Tony Moly (Korean skincare and beauty line) store and bakery inside. read more

No thanks. I've been to Asian markets before and this one smells I came late and the smell of something dotting was evident I was so excited to go here why my friend. Upon entry the guy who "guards" The carts was creeping me out. Noone was available to asistant a new customer to navigate through the store. I saw a rice cooker for $549.00 and was surprised. Th8s is Levittown and we work here and don't make that much money. Back to the fish issue.... they're was what seemed like a sushi section with Noone there. The seafood Dept was pungent and I had to delay 5 aisles away to negate the scent. I wound up getting apples, lettuce and departed. I did hear someone complaining prices advertised weren't what was charged. Price discrepancy. I think this place is too big for our community. read more

One of the best H Marts I've been to. Love the free samples on weekends and their hot foods section. The prices are overall standard (slightly more expensive than Chinese supermarkets), but they have good sales. The staff is helpful and more engaging than those of other H Marts. And compared to the hillside ave H mart near me, this one is amazing! Seafood area is clean and fresh. I've visited several times now and I haven't noticed the "smells" that some of the negative reviews have referred to. Not sure if they went on a bad day or i'm just lucking out. read more

This is the nicest Hmart I've ever seen. Nicest Asian supermarket I've ever been to, in fact. Clean, huge, amble suburban parking. It has all the things I expect from an Hmart - wide produce selection, variety of Asian snacks, food court and prepared dishes, nice fish section - but I want to focus on what really surprised me on my first visit here. That is the variety of specialty American products. It was my mom, an Hmart newbie, who was wowed by the broad selection of Bob's Red Mill products, noting that the supermarket she frequents has barely a quarter of the variety. I found gourmet hot cocoa and chocolate-covered macadamia nuts I haven't seen outside Hawaii. Pretty much on top of all the regular Hmart stuff you know and love, this store just has a huge additional stock of seemingly random, specialized goods. Always an adventure! Keep in mind, American products are not the place to find good deals. Prices for those tend to be on the higher side. Veggies, fruit, and meat are where you'll get the most bang for your buck, plus all the Asian goods that are usually jacked up in price in other typical supermarkets. I was still happy with all the stuff I picked up - including a little snack from the sushi bar, which was quite fresh and tasty. read more

I visited this H Mart a week after it opened. It was nice to see something other than another Stop n Shop, Shop Rite or other big brand store replace the old Waldbaums. First thing I notice was so many staff waiting to help us. The layout is nicer than the other H Marts that I have visited. Everything is brand new. There is a food court and a bakery. Many selections of fruits and vegetables. Seafood section was very nice and clean. Many varieties of seafood available. There was a section of prepared foods including marinated beef so you can make your Korean BBQ at home! Plenty of Korean and Asian products to choose from. They even had special snacks and food containers. I will definitely be back. read more

I love H mart! Although some items are a bit pricy (we're on Long Island), there's so many great snack options and fresh fruits and veggies. The mini restaurant/ take out area is awesome too! Finally, an H mart out here further in Island that is the standard of the suburban huge H marts that I've known so well growing up in Atlanta. No offense to the H&Y Korean market just a few minutes down the road it has served us well, but the new H mart is just much bigger and better. A lot more selections here compare to the other two H-marts out in Nassau county, a huge parking lot to avoid having to scour around the lot for a spot. Since its been open I've been here probably average once a week. The grand opening deals certainly has died down but there are still plenty you can find here. My favorite place is the Taiyaki bakery here glad that we don't have to go all the way out to Queens for some delicious pastry. Now if they can serve up a good shaved ice during the summer definitely would be coming here a lot more often. As with other Hmarts there are lots of sampling, but being that its new I feel its definitely more than other places almost every aisle there's something to try. I would recommend the seafood here. We had both the lobsters and crabs from quite fresh and very delicious. Also the salmon steak we got was really good as well. I've also had experience with the food court. While the portions were huge they tasted a bit bland plus a bit miffed on the 10 cent per box charge for leftovers. I did see they have Korean Fried chicken as well and definitely will be trying that in my future trips. Overall I would think its a quite successful location for Hmart, right off the highway to both 495 and Northern State and so close to Ikea. Its an ideal location and I think they'll be very successful here for years to come. read more

An incredible assortment of fruits and vegetables on top of all of the fresh and frozen fish products. They have so many samples and the attendants are so helpful. Great place to pick up Asian foods on Long Island! The store itself was quite spacious, organized and well lit. Staff was friendly. Multiple samples were offered to customers which is great since it makes it easier to decide on buying something if you know how it tastes. Be sure to sign up for their loyalty card. You get a free gift (I saw a manicure kit one time and a mug another time) just for signing up. The variety of produce was impressive. Some of the interesting items included mangosteen, jackfruit and lychees. They also have a small cafe in the front, a deli, a Tony Moly (Korean cosmetic company that makes cute containers) area and a bakery that makes fish shaped cakes stuffed with red bean, vanilla custard or cream cheese. This was my second time coming here and this time I walked thru the entire store. This is the only market in LI that I have been able to find bitter melon in. And I love to buy my Japanese udon noodles from here there's more bundles in the pack and I save a few dollars. Let's be honest. If your looking for a full fledged Asian market in Long Island there are hardly any which will hold a candle to H Mart. This market definitely sets a pretty good standard of what any market should be. It is a complete supermarket with tons of fresh produce, fruits, fresh meats, seafood, dry good groceries, snack and so much more. They even have a food court complemented with various food vendors such as a bakery, Korean fried chicken spot and even a beauty shop inside the store. When you walk inside you will notice just how big it is along with how clean it is too. I hope they can keep it that way. The interior design is nice and modern and doesn't leave any traces of the old Walbaums market which is a good thing. You might be tempted to pick something up from the prepped food sections offering things like soup, kimchee, Kim Bap, sushi, etc. Ambience aside this place pretty much had a lot of what you may be looking for specifically for Korean food and other various Asian. I recommend a trip here if you happen to be in the area or even if you are not it's still worth the drive for the experience alone. read more

i love hmart, it's always very clean and organized compared to the other markets that sell similar groceries! the fish section isn't overpoweringly pungent and is always offering fresh fish, and i love buying from delimanjoo, the cafe and the little area by the food court that sells cute bamboo and money tree arrangements! my kitchen is now covered in plants! the impulse items at the cash register are also always fun and tempting, i recently bought one of their new detective conan chocolate eggs and came back for three more and ended up getting the prize i wanted inside the egg on my second visit! the only reason i'm knocking a star off is because of the high prices, as well as how their stock for certain items can be unreliable at times -- hmart is about 30-40min from my town so i used to make that drive almost weekly to buy their irohasu peach water in bulk, given that nowhere else in the east coast sells it, but every now and then the entire stock will be completely missing and replaced with some other random drink. if i could go to hmart and know for certain i can buy the same grocery that i bought previously, then i would overlook the prices and give five stars! read more
