First, I take full responsibility for not doing my due diligence, overlooking a very similar horrible review from a neighbor, and choosing to proceed with them while also paying upfront in an effort to support a small business. As a Black homeowner in a community that is not very diverse, I have received multiple letters from my HOA and potential fines as my yard has gone uncomplete for almost a year. This company has received all payments as of 12/22/2022 for completion of this project and it is now May 1st and the job is nowhere near done. They've made engineering mistakes on top of an egregious lack of proactivity where they refuse to do the work they can actually complete. My house is in complete disarray and it's clear that this is NOT a reputable business and you should take heed to this review. I even referred them more business and they had the audacity to have more of that project done than my own. Closing in on one year of working with them, I have never seen a project plan, had any documentation of milestones or deliverables, or anything that would lead you to believe this is a fully operational business. The only PDF I have ever received was a digital invoice to request money. I have given them 155K to date and even with sending a demand letter from my lawyer for simple deliverables and a timeline, it was never sent. I am gearing up to formally file a lawsuit against both Dream to Design and Eden Construction with Lessington Law for misappropriation of funds and a failure to complete services within a reasonable timeline. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM praying on minorities like myself going door to door to solicit business and not actually doing the work that was paid for. James and Doug never have answers, they're always "trying" to see, and yet they didn't "try" when it came to asking for payment for services not yet rendered. I am writing this review now as I have lost all faith that this will be completed. I had intentions of waiting until the work was completed before sharing my experience, but it has become abundantly clear that that day may never come. Do yourself a favor and go with anybody else but this company. I am a busy man with multiple businesses and had to take time out of my day to write this, trust me, you don't want to deal with this headache. Their company demoed my bathroom, including the shower, and rebuilt it exactly to my vision. The finished space includes beautiful floor and shower tile, a floating vanity, and all of the necessary fixtures, executed cleanly and professionally. I am not an experienced contractor, so there were things I had to figure out along the way. Gerik was very helpful in walking me through decisions and making sure nothing was overlooked. That support made a big difference for me as a homeowner. I will be posting photos soon, but I did not want to delay this review any longer. For other homeowners considering a bathroom remodel, here are a few things I learned that may help. Decide on your trim pieces and colors early, especially tile edging. Choose grout colors carefully and have your shower and sink fixtures in hand ahead of time so you can confirm finishes match, especially with gold tones. Ferguson Home was the best showroom I found for selection and knowledgeable help, but you do need an appointment. If you are considering a smart bidet toilet, do your research, some models are larger than standard toilets, though compact options do exist. If walls are open, consider relocating outlets for best placments, and make sure your vanity light will be centered if your new vanity size changes. Also, you may need bullnose tile that you did not originally order, so plan for that. After returning a shower door to Home Depot, I spent a little more and used Legendary Glass out of Moorpark for a more custom, premium, amazing shower door.
