Other than the yogurt, it's a large store with bulk grains, nuts, and snacks, a large floral footprint, an okay produce area, and has a mix of food, housewares and memorabilia. The store is also heavily dotted with physical coupon offers, which for me was a strange alternative from the all cyber coupons / offers I am used to back in my home State. I love shopping at HEB, good prices, great selections, cashiers and sackers, always friendly and do a good job. Although, I do have one gripe and that would be the cheap plastic bags. Every week, most of them are torn, I reuse these bags for a lot of things, so having holes or tears in them make them useless. Two years ago I bought a frozen crab from the seafood bar. On the drive home the crab dethawed and pinched my 4 year old son's nose until he bled. I called the H-E-B to inform them of what happened and hopefully prevent this from happening in the future but the employee I spoke to refused to listen to me and called my 4 year old son a "pussy". I've been using HEB CURBSIDE for a while now, and their Curbside Order Pick Up service is incredibly convenient. The website is user-friendly, and my orders are always ready on time. The quality of the groceries is generally high, and the staff are friendly and efficient. I have even ran into an instance where I had to stay at work a little longer than expected and they were able to accommodate me. If there's one thing to improve, it would be the notification system, as updates on out of stock items often arrive while driving to the store to pick up. I don't really know how you would fix this issue as it is overall not that big of a deal. Although I have noticed if you do a morning pickup versus a 530 pick up out of stock items are more likely to be in stock! :) I have received a couple of free items i.e. samples. This is a nice gesture since I rarely ever go in the actual store and that is such a fun surprise when going inside. Overall, it's a great option for hassle-free grocery shopping!! read more

Why, you can even buy seeds to grow garden vegetables and fresh flowers from!! Wine and beer are here too. All the registers were open and the pharmacist was on duty. I saw a freaky woman in the parking lot, but she wasn't a threat, only wired. I wasn't impressed with ingress and egress and access to the freeway but it didn't dampen their business. read more

H‑E‑B is a treasure. I love this one in Waco; I feel like it has everything I could possibly want and more. There is no limit to the amount of H‑E‑B brand products, and they're all very good. I love that the Hill County Fair brand offers a cheaper generic alternative, but there are also H‑E‑B alternatives, and even more "upscale" H‑E‑B products. I love the select ingredient notations. Obviously they also have non-HEB brand products, but I point this out because there's much more selection than at competing grocery stores. There's a huge selection of anything you could ever need. There's also a wide variety of H‑E‑B Meal Simple oven ready meals and microwave meals, along with salads and soups, etc., plus a sushi bar with many options, and a whole fish market! There's a section for clothing and a section for flowers and a section for cookware and tupperware, and a bakery and a deli and a pharmacy. Like it has everything!!!! I'm the type of person who likes to get in and out of the grocery store, and I love the H‑E‑B app for this. You can add things to your list and it will tell you the specific aisle or part of the store you need to be in, which has made my shopping so much faster and easier. The app also has a really nice interface and allows you to do curbside or delivery orders, along with adding things to your list. I highly recommend it. I only thought to write this review because I just remembered that one time they brought out my curbside order, and then the guy bringing it out realized they forgot something I ordered, so he ran inside and then ran back out with it. I just want to say that I am a big loyal HEB customer. But when I have these types of encounters with employees, it upsets me deeply. I stopped to pick up flowers on my way from Weimar to Dallas. The employee on the clock was Christine, she never took the time to acknowledge us. She was rude and bothered by us being there. She was not courteous at ALL. She charged me a 40% arrangement fee just to get flowers that I had already picked out, put in brown wrapping paper. No assembly what so ever. This type of customer service should not be acceptable and these employees need to held accountable, even up to grounds of termination. This gives HEB a bad reputation. read more

Curbside service is always spot-on; my order usually comes out within five minutes of pulling up, even if I am early, and they are always clear about subs. Today was the first time I was missing anything from my order, and my bread had been smushed. I called about the missing items and they weren't able to locate a bag, but offered to deliver them free of charge and replace the bread. They were here within the hour and called before the left to make sure there was nothing else I needed. Excellent store all around! read more

Main Point: I was waiting just outside to leave & slender young Hispanic Dude Fernando was pushing/straining/steering about 15 shopping carts up from the parking lot, Wed, 2 May, about 2:15pm. I agree with the review about the pharmacy - definitely one of the slowest lines I have ever been in and I'm the kind of person who's willing to wait in unreasonable Black Friday lines. The checkout lines for the stores can get a bit long too. There's not really a right time to go grocery shopping because it gets really crowded after work hours, on weekends, and during all the times you think are off times but everything thinks are off times too. At least H-E-B has everything I need though, so I can make infrequent trips to the store. read more

As a local, I like my HEB but hate how downhill The Flaming Bird has gotten, I ask my brother to pick me up a plate around 1pm and come to tell him they are out of mash potatos? With 7-9 more hours before closing. I tell you if it isn't the pharmacy it's the flaming bird. I remember when it first opened the chicken was red, meaning it was seasoned well with spices and flavor, look at it now and not a ounce of seasoning and bland taste; I got to eat it with the jalapenos for taste. I'm disappointed H-E-B didn't keep a store next to Baylor, within walking distance--so minus one star for that. Not everyone there has a car. The "Ghetto H-E-B" was a Godsend to those of us who were from too far away to bring our own car, dang it--or who had an unreliable college student hooptie that kept breaking down once we finally got one there, heh. I'm still disappointed I couldn't have entered my old Altima in a LeMons race until it failed entirely, at which point, I could have set it on fire and laughed like a maniac for getting sweet, sweet mechanical revenge on that thing. But I digress. There's a need for services and stores within walking distance of Baylor that's now going unfilled now that H-E-B moved its "Baylor" location across I-35 entirely. That being said, this replacement for Ye Olde Sketchball Grocery Store puts the old "Taj Ma-H-E-B" (the nicknames are still a thing, right?) to shame. Holy moly, this is a nice store. It's crowded and busy--yes. I hit the last-minute Thanksgiving rush, so no surprise there. I was heading to an even smaller town, and I knew I needed deodorant before everything there closed up for the holiday. I not only walked out with my deodorant (three cheers for smelling acceptable!), but also a small hoard of lip balms I can't find anywhere in Austin anymore. I got hooked on the Alba balms when I picked a tube up at Whole Foods' big, ridiculous flagship store downtown, but haven't been able to find the passion fruit flavor anywhere since. Not there. Not at the other Whole Foods locations. Not even at the Central Market or other stores with Alba stuff. There it was at Waco's newest H-E-B: all three flavors of the holy grail of lip balms--wonderfully smooth, with just enough fruit flavor to be good without tasting synthetic (as Lip Smackers sometimes do) or overpowering (as many, many über-girly lip balms can be). Great success. I still don't like the location -- and I think the move across the freeway was a mistake -- but dadgummit, this is a fantastic store. read more

Brand new store. Everything is nice and neat. The people are fantastic, as I usually expect from HEB. Pro: Layout is as expected... Groceries to the right, pharmacy to the left... Frozen food in the middle. I was especially impressed with the bathrooms. These are not your everyday grocery store bathrooms with 2 toilets and white tile everywhere. Nice tan tile on the walls, with accent tiles, roomy stalls with door handles and deadbolts (so there is no gap between the door and the wall). Con: Nothing really stands out... read more

This isn't H-E-Bs fault; they should take pride that they were this packed. We just moved here and I'm so excited to have H-E-B back in my life! While visiting my sister in Waco, I needed to unload the cargo, take the Browns to the Super Bowl, whatever. Unfortunately for me, she has this crazy policy of no one else is allowed to use her lavatories to take a dump besides herself. In my panic, I hopped in my car and drove down Valley Mills looking for a nice clean restroom to spend some time in. Fortunately for me, HEB was here to save the day. The restrooms are awesome. Sparkly clean and quite open with enough space to dance. I also bought donuts here after I took care of business because I thought it would be weird driving to HEB just to use the restroom.
