H-E-B at Nogalitos will forever be my favorite H-E-B in the city! I want to start by saying that this H-E-B is not for everyone. It is much smaller than the newer ones, and they don't have as much variety as other locations. The population in this side of the city is mostly hispanic/mexican and they do cater to that population. With that being said, I was born and raised in Mexico and for me this H-E-B has always felt like home. I can always find all the products I used to buy back home in Mexico, and they always have amazing discounts. Also, the staff here is always very nice and I've never had a bad experience on all the years I've been coming here. My only feedback is that their meat quality is not the best, so I usually go to other stores when I am looking for good beef. Last but not least, my favorite thing about this location is that they have covered parking which is a major plus during our summer months. read more

Our favorite HEB, we are surrounded by 2 other stores but we just drive right by them. No go! This store is smaller than most with the parking being smaller as well, so expect that should you come here. Also expect to walk, this store is on stilts so one has to either use the elevator or escalators which are down frequently. Wish I had this contract, haha. Anyhow, we prefer this heb, our Las Palmas store is one of the worst, I have addressed several issues & have come to a conclusion that the issue is management. So thank you HEB nogalitos!! read more

This HEB has a great selection of fruits, vegetables and craft beers. Yes craft beers! They always have people passing out a great sampling of different samples such as sausage and sometimes sushi! Their flowers are always on sale and if you download the digital coupons app, you might score some good deals in the bakery and floral section! Make sure to go early during day, parking gets tight during weekend sometimes. There is a guard dog outside, so I feel safe about parking my car outside by library at times when parking is tight. Make sure you try and look at the candies section. There is a wide variety of candies such as chamoy, spaghetti string candies and chocolates. You could spend the whole day here! read more

The parking lot is a nightmare. Assortment is very limited due to store size. H-E-B loves to create aisles that are just about two basket-lengths wide but then clusters of employees and vendors flood the aisles all throughout the day making navigating the store a real chore. Checkout lines are always long, so I try to limit how much I buy so I can use self-checkout, but expect to wait for that too. Often time the line is back into the plastic/paper eating utensils/bowls/plate aisle. Business services area also needs more staffing. read more

As much as I love H-E-B, this location has very poor efficiency when it comes to checking out. If you shop in the evening hours prepare to wait in line. That line can extend into the aisles and will take much longer than your entire shopping trip. As much as they heavily promote and encourage you to utilize their self-check out, it is the same problem. This evening was the same story, I watched them shut down a checkout lane as the line behind me extended into the aisle. Maybe it's for a cost savings, but I do not see how as they seem to be very profitable. In total, one standard checkout lane, one express lane and of course the self checkout, all heavily congested. The few employees standing around on their phones can be utilized, but what do I know? I am just a customer. Seriously though, you guys can do better. The name represented carries a lot of weight and is well respected across Texas, I wish that was the story here. read more

I would shop here at times since it is near to my house but they always had bad customer service and very disorganized. I shop now on the Vans Jackson locatio or sw military but Sunday I needed peppers for a dish so I ran over to this location and picked them up waited 10 min in line and got home to find that the peppers that come pre packaged were bad so today after school I go to exchange them, mind you it's just 2.50, and they would not exchange them with out a recite I asked who keeps a recit for one item and just wanted an exchange she told me it's not her problem that I don't see recits, well it's not my fault that they sold me crap. Never again sorry HEB but this place puts the B in Bullsh.. read more

Love the H‑E‑B here it's in my neighborhood. It also the number 4 of all Heb in Texas. Meaning the fourth built. So it's one of the oldest H‑E‑B in Texas. A recent renovation has transformed this HEB into the first two-story grocery store they have ever made. It's kinda awkward getting into and out of this place, because all the parking is on the bottom floor. Once you get inside the building, it's a escalator's ride to the grocery store. It's really cool that they saved the facade for the building, since the old building was a historic part of the neighborhood. It's not the biggest HEB I've ever seen. It's rather small, and kinda cramped. There's a lot of stuff that they don't have here that other HEBs have. They do have their own bakery, which is nice. Checkout is fast and easy. The staff at HEB is always friendly and helpful. I always appreciate them. read more

My definition of a "multistory HEB": at least 2 floors of shopable grocery merchandise. HEB/local media's definition of the same: a tiny little single floor of merchandise, with very little range in selection, basically on stilts above a *completely* inadequate floor of parking. I really like how well they disinfect the shopping carts and baskets at this location. All the shopping carts look really clean. This is a 2-story locations so it offers covered parking in their garage. They have an escalator as well as an elevator available. This location is small but it still has everything I need. I do wish they offered more "Meal Simple" options though. This is one of my favorite locations. read more

This recently renovated and expanded HEB is a great option for those on the go. This location features a multilevel building-parking on the 1st floor with an escalator/elevator that take you to the second floor where the merchandise is. Although this location does not offer as much product selection (item variety)/services as other HEB locations (4 stars), it definitely offers all the basics and more. You just might not find those rare flavors/specialty items as much. It definitely has an expanded inventory then the previous store was able to offer. I have also noticed this location has ample parking and quick checkout times each time I have visited this store. I'd rather stop here for the essentials rather than my neighborhood store due to the ample parking and quick checkout. This store is definitely an upgrade and a great place to shop. read more

Well, I LOVE MY HEB!!!! But,the one rotten apple is making it not perfect. Her name is Jenny in the pharmacy. I go to this heb, 3 times a week usually. Pick up medication for my husband , myself and senior parent. Everyone is friendly helpful except for Jenny. I've given her the chance in the past, maybe shes not having a good day. NO, any and every time I get her she is rude, no smile, acts like I'm bothering her. HEB is a wonderful company, and shes lucky to have such a great job. But HEB, your failing me, by keeping employees like Jenny. Please get her out of customer service. Thank you for your time read more

This was my first trip to this store. The drivers in the parking lot were a little crazy, but there was plenty of parking and the spots are large. In the store I was offered assistance by several associates who were all pleasant. I found the items I needed as well as those expected for this neighborhood. I also noticed several items carried by central market which were nice surprises. Overall, this was a very nice store to come to and I will be back :) read more

The store is nice, cool and modern; however I had a bad encounter with a staff member. It was his role to assist me with my groceries to my car. When he walked up, I greeted him with a warm hello. He didn't respond so I translated, "Do you speak English?" In Spanish and he responded, "What? Yeah" so I said Well, I said hello and you didn't respond so I wasn't sure and he shook his head nastily. I told him I didn't need his assistance with my groceries to my car and to have a good day. Great place to park your bicycle while you shop. Jarlesberg swiss cheese on the southide??? That's a plus! Parking out of the sun and rain for my wife's car, another plus. My neighborhood H-E-B aka Nog-E-B in our house. Not the best by any means if you're a vegetarian, but enough to get by if you're okay with filling out your plate with some frozen selections. If you're trying to make anything more than tacos or school lunches, you might be disappointed in what you'll find at this store. If you treat it like the old H-E-B Pantry Foods stores you used to see around, you'll be pleasantly surprised. This HEB reminds me of a 1980s supermarket. The cashier was friendly and actually gave a genuine-looking smile. The store had a clear layout. Items were easy to find without walking all over the store. I didn't like the layout of the parking lot but it was an efficient use of space. It was packed inside on a Saturday night. I think I was the only non-Hispanic in the store. Prices seemed better than my Austin HEB. :( read more
