I reeeeeally wish Yelp had a half-star system too because this is a 2.5 star review. I have been back to HEB several times (about twice a week since the incident with the woman who refuses to wear gloves). I have since ordered things from the bakery and deli. Take note, please, that they do NOT ever seem to wear gloves in the bakery when serving up something from the case. I've never seen them handle garbage before helping me as in the case of the woman at their "Chinese" to-go bar, so I never said anything about it. However, one woman in the bakery was a funny/strange case a few visits ago. I was picking up a cookie sandwich and asked if the icing was buttercream or "elite" (whipped cream, but it's nasty!). Anyways, without telling me anything, she dipped her finger into it and...wait for it...ATE IT!?! What the hell, HEB?! I opted not to get anything that day. We also had a really bad experience using their carwash outside near their little gas station. The machine scratched up the roof of our car and we wanted to let the people working thereto know their machine wasn't working right. They made it out to be that we were looking for a prize or monetary compensation--which, by the way was only a $7 car wash so it wouldn't have killed them to refund it. Anyways, we didn't ask for anything and wound up almost fighting with them to prove we just wanted them to take a look at their machine. Service inside the store is MUCH better--aside from the To-Go lady and handful of bakery people (who are nice, don't get me wrong. The glove issue is just a pet peeve). read more

This store just all around irritates me. The amount of people are always walking around but can't help you, the fact that the doors on the left side are seriously locked a majority of the store hours and the way everything is set up is so annoying. I miss publix. That is a top notch store. HEB is just like Walmart, only worse. read more

HEB has some items I cannot find elsewhere. It has good prices. Most importantly, the company hires kind and helpful people. Even during busy hours of a day, I don't mind coming to such a friendly place for my groceries. read more

HEB has a good selection in the products they carry (want canned tomatoes? You've got choices) but less choice than other HEBs I've been to. Yes the market is different here than San Antonio for example, and that is why there is only one store, but there are plenty people from out of town that live temporarily in San Angelo. Between the military and the international students, the choices should be there, and there should be a Central Market. read more

I have had nothing but problems with the pharmacy at HEB, trying to fill my meds after the day that they were due to be filled, they are slow and one time I waited in the drive thru for over 30 minutes, the person they had on the drive thru was very slow and acted like he did not know what he was doing. I will never ever shop at HEB or ever use their pharmacy again and anyone thinking about going to their pharmacy then I suggest you use another pharmacy. Fed up with HEB!!!!!! read more

After living in Austin for over a year. I have become spoiled to multiple Heb three to be exact with in a five mile radius of my apartment. That being said the price are what you would expect. But what I don't like is when the run out of a staple in my life and I'm like where can I go get what I need at 10 pm in San Angelo. Love shopping this store. LOW prices, great in-store coupon deals, very friendly staff and an excellent choice of products. Produce is always fresh and a huge selection, deli carries standard brand plus Boar's Head meats and cheese (only place I've found in San Angelo). If I gave it any down side it would be foot traffic. But, for the selection variety I will put up with a lot of shoppers. Great place to get quality at low prices. read more

I love HEB because they have a huge selection but you don't feel like you are shopping in a stadium. The people working are usually nice. My only problem is this store never seems to have baggers. My husband ends up bagging our groceries about 90% of the time. read more

I bought HEB's meal deal last week. What a disappointment. The buy part of the deal is HEB Premium Smoked Sausage Links. I was a bit leery at first, because I had purchased some of their Smoked Sausage before and was not pleased with it. They had some out to sample, so I tried a small bite. I was surprised that it tasted good and the casing was not tough. When I put some in a frying pan with some water and cooked it, it was so tough I couldn't even chew the casing up, spitting it all out. I think they put this sausage in a condom and smoked it with green mesquite wood. I won't buy any more of that. HEB, you have missed your high mark standard on this product. Outsource this product to Olfen, Rowena or Wall to make your sausage! read more

I have been ordering soft and chewy milkbones for several years at HEB. Last time I ordered was last Monday and I was told that the order would be in on Wednesday. On Wednesday when I went to pick up the milkbones I was told they were putting everything up, and told me to come back on Thursday. On Thursday I went. To get. The milkbones and I was told I needed. To talk to a manager that would be back in 30 mins. I waited 30 mins and called the grocery department and asked to speak to the manager. The man that answered at the grocery department told me he was transferring me to speak to the manager. He transferred me to another department. The man in the other department told me he didn't need to transfer me he could just go get his manager. I ended up talking to the manager at the front of the store about the order. The manager at the front of the store said he would go look for it himself. It was almost 30 mins later and the milkbones were no where to be found.Then I was told by the manager that he needed a package of the millions to see if he could locate the millions. On Friday he got the package to scan and said the milkbones had been discontinued and could not be ordered at Heb anymore. I was very upset because I was not told that when I placed or when I went to pick up the order,that the product was discontinued. So I am giving her the lowest rating possible because of this issue. read more

Sorry to hear all the negative reviews above, but I've been shopping at this store for a year and never came across these troubles. The staff has been friendly and helpful. The place doesn't look dirty. The produce is really pretty good--as opposed to Walmart where I find the produce is either rotting on the shelf or rotting a day after I take it home. The prices are reasonable and selection is good--being from the northeast I don't always find what I'm looking for in any store anyhow. I am happy with HEB. read more
