I've always liked HEB. I've never had any experiences that some of the other reviewers have had. That being said, I just wanted to recognize two employees that I encountered today. I returned some subpar HEB frozen biscuits and Alexis in returns was amiable, affable, proficient, etc. Just an all around sweetheart. Next, Ramona in the pharmacy was great. All I can say is if anyone should order a cake on curbside and you allow for a similar substitution you may be out of luck, actually you may not get a cake at all! I was told they were out of strawberry short cake and they substituted it with nothing! So I ask my curbside assistant if he could go in and choose a cake , his choice. He returned to tell me that he was so sorry but there wasn't even one cake left in the bakery! I questioned that by asking " not one cake " and he again said no. It was this past monday at 6pm...not a holiday. You simply have to laugh at the absence of customer service. Oh and my Lolly pop Strawberries...out and no strawberries for me. I love HEB. I look forward to my visits here when I come into town for work. The HEB branded food is amazing, and I often take some to AZ for my parents to try. I also got a bunch of HEB gifts for my family for Christmas. We are all fans anytime we visit TX. The in store coupons are great. I like the stand where they sample foods and have recipes. There are some really good ideas there. read more

Store has faulty locking shopping carts. "Manager" on duty (8:30pm on Wednesday evening) has no sense of how to speak to a customer! I spent several minutes checking out at the self-checkout as I have done several times a week. Finally leaving to go home but guess what! Wheels on the cart seemingly get stuck on the carpet just as I'm leaving. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong or what it is stuck on. Another customer stopped as if to see if he can help. Then here comes a woman over who says "I fixed it, you can go" My thought is "fixed what?" She didn't touch the cart or even look at it, so I asked what the problem was. She said, "Sometimes if you don't go through a register, the wheels lock" She said this with a brusque tone, as if she didn't want to be bothered. I was immediately upset because I had just indeed gone through a register! My groceries were bagged and the long receipt was In My Hand. I told her that yes I HAD gone through a register. She just said that well, I fixed it- as if it's no big deal. It was a big issue to me however-the implication of the cart stopping is that someone has stolen something, then this was made much worse by her remark about not going through a register! No apologies, no "niceness" at all. A quick explanation of something like "I'm so sorry ma'am, we have trouble with these sometimes" in a friendly tone would have gone a long way. Instead she implicitly accused me of not going through a register. She seemed annoyed to have to deal with a customer asking questions. Apparently I was supposed to thank her profusely for getting the cart going with the device she had, then go on my way and not bother her! I tried to call back to the store to speak to the actual manager. Unfortunately she WAS the manager on duty. She insisted that she was not being rude. I disagree. A company of the size and reputation of HEB should have managers that are trained in every aspect of customer service. Also, if you have not got your cart security system in good working order, then don't use it! The carts seem too old and rickety to be using an electronic system. This has ruined a customer relationship and could also physically injure someone. read more

H-E-B is amazing store. I enjoy shopping at this store and can find things I need. My one complaint that I have is with currently is my last experience. I understand that customers are not always right, but it's important to treat your customers with respect. Even if you do not agree with a customer it's important to treat them with dignity and courtesy. The way you leave a store makes a lasting impression. I will continue to shop here but cashiers please, if you are upset at your customer and do not agree with them. Please do not slam down an item or push the items through belt in a way that tells me we have pissed you off. I do not like bruised product. Then tell us next time to use the correct lane. The so-called "old HEB" in San Angelo needs to improve its fish department, and its nighttime customer service. We returned a blue runner and milk fish after bringing them home, only to discover they were rotten. This experience will make us think twice about purchasing fish there. The second problem added more aggravation. Night Manager Amber, who processed the return, started with an accusatory tone, asking, "Couldn't you smell it? I can." Of course she could, because we had opened the fish. Not one word of apology from the officious Amber; apparently "sorry" is not in her vocabulary, and "customer service" appears to be a foreign concept. Her complete lack of empathy was on display when we asked for an apology, and she refusing, saying, "Go ahead and write a review." So here it is. Not HEB's finest hour. read more

For my basketball game here we needed to wear masks , so my dad and I went to get some for HEB they have the littlest selection ever! I wasn't very impressed. They were .99 cents at hobby lobby and they were double the price (1.99) and HEB! I thought that was just flat out ridiculous! We checked out and the guy just threw them in the bag! In hobby lobby the lady carefully placed them in the bag! This is ridiculous. read more

I went to heb opening weeken. Lovely store all the employees were super nice. I got home went over my register tape and was charged 16.76 for items i didnt buy. 12.xx showed to be for corn husks?? So i took my receipt back and now the employees are a different story. I showed the clerk my tape and told her i did not buy any type of corn except for 3 ears that were a 25 cents a piece. Evidently they had already had problems concerning the corn because she mentioned it. They also charged me 7.34 for a jar of marshmellow cream!! She didnt know what that was!! Ok i said i would go find one and show her . So even though i have a very bad knee i took off to where she told me it was. Of course it was not there but on other side of building! So i take it back she cant find it in computer. At this point i have been there an hour!! So she goes gets her supv who was very rude treated me like i was trying to steal when my grocery bill had been over 150. By this time i was beginning to get upset in no mood to deal with a rude supv she said they would have to go back and pull their tapes which would tak about 20 minutes. At hat point i left mad and have not and will not go back. It was their error whoever put the prices in the computer entered it wrong. You dont have to be Einstein to know that . So if you are brave enough to shop thereBEWARE!!!!!!!!!! Check your register tapes they are charging wrong prices and keying in wrong items. I complained to store mgr in an email but never heard a word from him. So I just got ripped off for over $16. Thats a lot of money to me read more
