Huge parking lot with lots of space for maneuvering. Gas pump area was practically sparkling. The structure itself looks brand new with bright primary colors, great signage and an easy entrance. Inside, a large convenience store with options upon options for snacks, candy, drinks, automotive, even a section for pets. What? Yes. Discounts and deals on stuff that is clear and not a huge stretch to purchase. Restrooms were among the cleanest I have ever seen, like they'd perhaps just been serviced by their service because it was perfect in there. Transaction went smoothly until I tried to get a receipt. Then it said "cashier has receipt." Except the store was closed. I needed the receipt for business and rental car proof of gas purchase. It is a huge pet peeve of mine when gas stations don't print receipts in general, but this was particularly frustrating. Fortunately, as I was driving to the airport, I found another gas station with an open store where I was able to top up and get a physical receipt.

They didn't have coffee options I liked, so I checked out the energy drinks that were on sale 2 for $5 with a Stripes reward card. When I got to the counter, the guy scans my drinks without saying anything. I'm watching for the price to make sure it scans at 2 for $5 or waiting for the cashier to ask if I have my rewards card on me. He asks if I need a receipt, and I respond by saying that I just wanted to make sure it scanned at 2 for $5. He says, "$7.12. You have to read the whole sign." I had read the sign --I simply haven't been anywhere where you weren't asked to produce a card or invited to join the rewards group. I figured I'd give him another chance, so I ask how to join the rewards group. He simply puts a card in front me--no question if I had a rewards account or if I'd like to join and then re-checkout. I checked behind me and didn't see a line, so there was no rush. Just unfriendliness. I don't think I'll be going to another Stripes anytime soon. My experience was the exact opposite of what I can get from QT, Buccee's, or CircleK!
