As someone who can't stand Walmart, I have to say I actually prefer the local Walmart to this HEB in terms of crowds, layout, prices, and stock. This is the closest grocery store to my house. The Pharmacy is the WORST pharmacy I have worked with. Wouldn't take my insurance, made me jump through hoops to get the info they needed even when I provided them with the number the pharmacist is supposed to call. I made them transfer my prescriptions to CVS across the street. I will NEVER take them to H-E-B again. read more

Not impressed. Third time I have been to this HEB Plus and they have been out if half the stuff I needed. It also just strikes me as dirty and disheveled everytime. I think to give this one another try I am reminded of why I shouldn't. Though it's farther, the Louis Henna location is so much better. I will be making that drive more often. read more

Price, selection and convenience, I am thankful for HEB. Sure they might not always have what you want in the size you want it, but if they don't carry it you probably didn't need it that badly (or you wouldn't be looking at HEB for it). People complaining about parking don't appreciate the distance the food has traveled to make it this far, or they'd be embarrassed to whine about parking and walking 500 feet to get to it. Park in the back or on the side lots, and bring in a cart or two on your way in. Things I can count on at this HEB: Clean aisles and floors, stocked shelves, a decent selection of fresh seafood and meats (arrive before 7PM), and seasonal Shiner and Leinenkugel beers. HEB coupons saving me money is icing on the cake. One standout thing about HEB store brand products is that they usually have fewer if any "bad" ingredients, such as MSG, HFCS, partially-hydrogenated oils, or bleached flour. I have been on the hunt to find some Mexican candy. I have gone to many stores, & gas stations, and this store was my last resort. They had a WIDE selection, & GREAT prices. HEB Plus used to ROCK!! One of the reasons I dont think I could leave Texas.. I love me some HEB. Always have. So when RR brought HEB Plus in I was stoked! The old HEB in RR was tragic, so I started going to WM, or if it was convient, another HEB. Fast forward 5 years later. U. They now sell insurance inside of HEB. Which has been a cell phone vendor, a jewelry vendor and something else at one point. I hate that they took the cart corral out of the center of the parking lot, but Im sure it needed to be done because its such a busy store. I LOVED going to HEB Plus. They had TONS of lines open, lots of smiling faces, and great service all together.. I moved to PVille, so HEB Plus isn't omw home anymore, so I dont go often and after last nights visit, Im not missing much by hitting up the Greenlawn one instead. It was 10pm, and they had 4 lanes open. I HATE going to WM EVER because they do NOT have lanes open and the ones they do are self check out lanes. Well, HEB had that going on last night. Every lane had at least 6 people in in... WHERE were the managers at to open up a lane? One finally opened, but it was swarmed to like a ticket booth on opening day, wft? I love that its still big inside, and they have a huge variety of foods and generics. I love the cooking center and the freebies. I love their coupons, but I damn sure miss those HEB rewards, man. HEB has grown on me the same way that Whataburger has. What is it with Tx institutions? HEB is usually clean, well organized and I've never had any particular issues with their service. I always wonder why they offer to take my things to my car for me as I decline but for elderly customers I could see that being a huge benefit. Prices are usually a little higher than Wal Mart but who really wants to shop there? In my case the HEB is closer and I buy fewer items at a time. read more

They are very friendly and very helpful at the same time. You don't feel like you're putting them out when you ask questions in the pharmacy. Also my husband and I go there every week and have our meat special cut buy a meat cutter named Jose and he is wonderful always helpful, always friendly and always giving us suggestions and how to cook our Meats. We love this store and wouldn't shop anywhere else. I left CVS to come here to the pharmacy because they were terrible over there and what a big difference when you walk into the pharmacy here. They have Smiles on their face friendly, and there for you with whatever your needs are. I would highly recommend this store to anyone they won't be disappointed. read more

They always have everything I'm looking for, are fully stocked, the store is always clean and you can always find someone to help you. There's always plenty of cashier's and they updated their self serve check out counters. The customer service desk is quick to attend you as well. I love HEB and HEB Plus while farther away from my house then HEB is definitely somewhat of a little treat when I go out that way. (With that being said distance wise it's still only a couple miles from my house but the HEB is only a mile from me.) Some might compare HEB Plus to Walmart which I think is great because I love that Walmart is almost a one stop shopping experience but I always feel like Walmart is dirty and disorganized. HEB Plus is like a step up from Walmart they have all the same great things in one spot with great low prices but they feel just a little bit classier. I also love that most all of the products are local to Texas. I love supporting Texas businesses. I've found everything I need at HEB Plus from groceries to household cleaners, makeup, toys, clothing and much more. I never thought I'd say that I bought a dress at the grocery store but I did a few weeks ago for only $15 and it was really cute and good quality. HEB compared to the area grocery stores is definitely my favorite for price, products and atmosphere. read more

I shop here all the time. It's my HEB. I come in to see some changes, get into the wrong line and end up checking out in a 10 items or less line. Needless to say, I had more than 10 items. The new bagging areas will really only accommodate 10 items. Mistakes were made! The attendant came over and I say, I've made a mistake, I shouldn't be here. She responds flippantly with, "Well you know this is 10 items or less." This rubs me the wrong way. I'm in this store and have been overly nice to this lady everyday for the last several months (I stop in for my morning energy drink before work). I even struck up a conversation with her when she was gone for a week. I don't need someone getting lippy and smart with me when I'm spending $50 on a quick grocery run. I screwed up, I admitted it, I don't need the lip. HEB train your people better in customer service! Even though it's a pain for me, this won't be my morning stop anymore and I certainly won't do my real shopping at this location. read more

This store is way too crowded now. Getting through the aisles is a challenge and parking is no longer a breeze. -- the downside to the Texas boom, I suppose. Food and prices are still decent, but the store is getting older and all the crowds are taking their toll. I stopped here in a last minute ditch to pick out an ice cream cake. The selection was amazing the prices to die for and the staff super helpful and dedicated. Let me just preface this with the fact that I like HEB, they're a great chain and their prices are spectacular BUT, this location has become a nightmare! During the course of a single month, 4 trips to this location resulted in turning around and going back 3 out of 4 times because we were overcharged. 20 sweet potatoes, really? Who even buys 20 sweet potatoes? They also have a penchant for discontinuing favored products. Although that isn't nearly as frustrating as having someone bag so many heavy items in one plastic bag that when you pull it out of your vehicle at home, it breaks and a glass quart of honey shatters all over your driveway. Those double-knots at the top were really helpful too. They seem to enjoy mislabeling things as well. We purchased several packs of "mild" meatballs at regular price, cooked an entire meal with them and only to discover they weren't mild at all, rather the jalapeno flavor that was marked down by half. Really cute, my 9 year old has quite a bit to say about that. But even that was a small inconvenience compared to their latest flub... Porkchop packages we purchased two days ago were riddled with soured meat, not all, just some in each. And of course we only discovered this AFTER they were cooked. How is it possible to get a package of meat with only one or two soured porkchops int it? Is that some sort of joke? It's one thing to waste your time and gas, to take your money in exchange for frustration, to cook a ruined, meal, but it's a whole other thing to give your family food poisoning at extra cost. In essence, you better HAWK this store. Do NOT leave the property until you've checked your receipt and you might want to pass on sales in the meat department. read more

I stopped at this location on my way home after getting off of work. The staff was extremely pleasant and kind, greeting me as I walked in and offering me any assistance whenever they saw I struggled to find particular items. When I got in line, I was assisted by a manager, Crystal, who kindly asked how I was doing and was more than happy to help me, as well as the customers before and after me. When I struggled with my bags (I was too stubborn to get a cart), she aided me to the door, assuring that I could get to my car without issue. Great Manager! I don't like this store at all. It's always packed, hard to find decent parking, the carts are always filthy and have trash in them. Call me snooty if you will, but I prefer the more upscale stores. I also get very irritated when I'm shopping there. The staff is always hard to hunt down, unless it's a rude little stock boy who knows nothing and wont move his stuff out of the way of the aisles. Also the customer base here is obnoxious. Seems like there is always someone having a family reunion in the aisles and of course act as if you are invisible so they don't move out of the way. Being new to The Round Rock area, and Texas for that matter, I quickly learned that HEB is the ONLY game in town. In general it's probably a slightly above average supermarket chain - but over the last few weeks my wife and I have had repeated bad experiences with the produce department and the bakery. Simply put the produce isn't fresh - we've bought ginger, onions and peppers only to get them home and once cutting into them we find they are virtually rotting from the inside. And with the bakery we've tried a variety of items with the best result being mediocre while others have resulted in products that taste artificial and leave a chemically sweet after taste in your mouth. I'd certainly expect more from a chain this size...totally disappointing!!' read more

Cheapest grocery store. Ever. Coming from CA the prices here blow my mind. Groceries for a week for $50- seriously? Just like that, I've cut my family's food budget in 1/4. Crazy. The store is HUGE. Hard to find some items because of the sheer size of the store. I like the Cedar Park location better- seems less crowded. But this one is closest to my apartment. Their store brand is really good too. Their meal deals are amazing- for example this week you buy lunch meat at $3.59 and you get H-E-B Potato Chips 4 - 5.5 oz. assorted varieties * Kool-Aid Singles 12 - 16 ct. assorted varieties * Mrs Baird's Small White Bread 16 oz. * Nabisco Barnum's Animal Crackers 2.13 oz. all FREE. Obviously I copied that from their ad- but still- amazing. I'm anxiously awaiting their next meal deal since I've been hearing amazing things about the free items. The store is spacious and usually very well maintained. Only issue I have is the Pharmacy. By far the worst pharmacy I've ever been to in all the states I've lived. You wait roughly 15-20 minutes and there is inevitably an issue with your prescription. The staff seems to be nonchalant without any concern for your time or creating a good customer service experience. This has happened on multiple occasions. I will drive out of my way now to go somewhere else to pick up any prescription because in the long run it saves me time and my sanity. read more

This store cannot get more than 2 stars from us. I don't know what everyone is raving about this place for. Honestly, it's like a lower class Costco. It looks dirty, the workers seem disgruntled and I don't know if it's everywhere around here or just in this store but every time we've gone it seems the other customers are either always pissed off, cutting you off, bumping into you, taking 20 minutes to pick one thing out or letting their kids run a muck. The prices aren't that astonishing, they're average with the occasional item being pretty inexpensive. The produce section is pathetic. Also trying to find out information on steak at the meat section proves to be impossible. We're in Texas people!! I thought getting a good steak would be easier but here, apparently not. This is just primarily the bakery experience I had recently. I ordered my daughter's "Toy Story" themed cake a whole month before her party was scheduled to take place. The associate that took my order was friendly and helpful to assist me on the details of the size the cake, even showed me the scanned picture they could put on the cake! Everything was set, date was correct, picture I decided on was perfect, done. Then about a week and a half before the party date, I get a phone call that they wanted to confirm the date of pick up because there was some kind of mix up with the week day and actual number date someone had put down on my order. After I called and confirmed, they assured me my cake would be ready for the party. The day arrives of my daughter's party, I go to pick up my cake, the HEB employee hands it to me and right off the bat, THE WRONG PRINT IS PRINTED ON THE CAKE! It was still a "Toy Story," theme, but completely different. I was a bit disappointed, but it still worked out to which I still went through the check out line and paid for it. I get home, and notice a faint bubble the size of a quarter begin to rise on the top right corner of the cake, and I thought okay, well no biggie I'll just cover it with the little cake fixtures I bought to decorate it with. Then about a minute or two later, its freaking swelling up like a balloon under the picture now the size of an egg! It was already 30 minutes till my daughters party and on the road we were and my husband insisted I call HEB and ask them what was going on with our cake! Got the bakery manager on the phone, told her what was going on with the cake and even took a picture of what it looked like which I'll post. She passed me to her other associate to better explain "WHY" it was doing that etc. I really didn't care why, I just wanted to know if I could get a refund or some kind of compensation dealing with all this right before my daughters party! After the associate explained herself, I told her I understand, but what does that do for me now? Then she told me the only way they could help me was turn around and bring back the cake to them and they will fix it after I explained we were already headed to my daughter's scheduled birthday party. After talking over me...yes talking over me, I'm the customer remember, I didn't get the correct picture on the cake for one, then there's a bubble forming on my cake right before the birthday party. Not cool. So finally after she let me talk and just told her in a raised voice, that plan is not going to work, we need to come to an agreement for something else. Then she said, we'll offer you a free cake. Well that solves everything, instead of just refunding me, lets just give her another cake for no other important occasion right now. Never ordering from there again, and no thanks, you guys can keep your cake. read more

At HEB Spoonz cafe at around 7:30 PM. Toilet backed up for what appears to be several hours despite being signed off as clean. Garbage and dirty tables - numerous employees walked by and ignored. Appears to be nothing but an open employee lounge now. Garbage and dirty cups on beverage bar. Food on the floor. Cardboard box of forks left out on sticky utensil area. Incredible how downhill the Plus has gone. No way I would ever consider eating there again. read more

I went to the Hot Deli Restaurant inside this location , to grab a quick hot meal as I was on my lunch. There was a worker by the name of Roxanne, from what I could see she was the only person working. There was a lady in line in front of me who ordered what seemed to be a decent amount if food. Roxanne was Extremely Rude to her and Did not provide any amount of Customer service What so Ever! . She may have been having a bad day? (benefit of the doubt) Regardless, I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there and deal with someone that is rude and not considerate of customers. Being from the northeast, HEB is like no other grocer I've ever seen. Now, I'm not a fan that they have basically monopolized Texas and run every competitor into the ground, but it's still a good supermarket. And SUPER, it is! Before I get to the amazing selection, I'd like to mention the amazing customer service I've experienced here. An employee literally lunged to help me pull a case of water off the shelf to get it onto the cart. And I've seen many employees in the parking lot assisting customers load their cars. At the checkout, they are always cheerful and personable (and maybe a smidge-bit rehearsed) but usually always smiling. But, I can imagine this place being an absolute zoo on the weekends. I wouldn't be caught here on the weekends. Just shop during nonpeak hours like during the week or later at night. This HEB Plus, has a large organic produce selection and lots of organic options. I just can't get over how huge this place is. It has a pharmacy, lawn & garden, clothing, kitchen & housewares and even an Auntie Anne's Pretzel shop! I'd prefer to shop locally, but it's hard to beat the convenience of HEB. read more

Texans truly don't know how good they have it with HEB. This location especially, an HEB Plus, is an absolute pleasure compared to every other grocery store I've experienced during my residencies in ME, NY, PA, CA, NC and VA. It seems like my family is here every other day for something. There's always a deal to be had, and coupons are hanging right next to their targets. The generics are especially impressive; just as good if not better than the brand names. You can get outstanding tortillas and chips made fresh onsite. I could go on and on.
