Brandon was incredibly helpful and professional and asked me to stop by so he could have a look. When I arrived Brandon came right out and ran diagnostics a few times and drive it around a bit to assess the situation. He felt like it was ok to drive it back which was a huge relief. It was about 10:30am and of course they were booked for the day with only one mechanic on duty but said we could leave it and they'd try to take a look. Richard, the store manager, said they might not get to it until Sunday or Monday. We were scheduled to leave Sunday morning and let them know but their Sunday was also booked up. We left with our fingers crossed as we had to be back home Sunday night for work on Monday in the Boston area. We checked back mid afternoon but they hadn't been able to look it over yet and then checked back around 5 (we'd been told the mechanic was scheduled to go off duty around 4). We got there and the car was in the garage with Richard and Ivan the mechanic talking. They figured out the problem and repaired it! We were able to get the car Saturday and leave on time Sunday. We talked more with Ivan and Richard and they were so helpful, explaining what was wrong and answering questions (and showing us the bad spark plug). They really saved us by squeezing us in and we have only good things to say about the team at this location!

However, I don't keep up much with businesses in Bath (my bad), so didn't know Cahill's had been sold back in April. The reason I stopped in was for someone to check the pressure in my tires, as my low tire pressure light came on when I left my home that morning. This is a fairly new car with 23K miles on it that I had bought in September. All four tires were brand new. Anyway, when I walked in I saw this dark haired woman sitting at the counter in the waiting room. I asked where Marty was and she said we are the new owners. So, I asked if someone could check the tire pressure on my tires (a three minute task) and she said the service people were all busy and she could make me an appt, for Thursday. I said that wasn't really acceptable, as air was leaking. I left and on the way to my car I saw two service people standing by the stacks of tires outside just shooting the breeze. Busy, my foot. If that had been the old crew, they would have been right on it, even Marty had done that in the past. So, I went to Bert's (yes, I still call it that) and the kid came out, checked all my tires and the back passenger one was done 6 pounds. Needless to say, I will not be going back to Cahill's.

So glad the Topsham mechanic wasn't available to work on my car at the time, or he would have torn it apart for no reason. AVOID THIS LOCATION.

The difference being that the dealer seemed to upcharge on what is needed and what coud be done. Their overhead charges and labor costs were extreme as well. That said, Autowerks charges a fair amount on labor and additional "Phantom" time did not appear on my bill. Give them a try.

Said the right things, etc. I only waited a reasonable amount of time, especially for drive-in service. And everything was fine until he gave me the bill told me how much the battery was going to set me back. It was an (almost) obscene amount, about 40% more than anyone else had quoted me (all the places that couldn't get me in). You see, I never asked (and shame on me for that) because everyone else had quoted the same general price. I mentioned that it seemed a little high, to which he replied that THAT is what it costs, and that was that. What *I* didn't/never told him was that my last job was running a small-ish chain of auto repair shops 14 years); literally! I had my thumb on the pulse of what others charged in the area, and I tried to NEVER make anyone feel like they got taken. I knew how good (or not) their techs were, and how they operated. That people trust MAS for whatever reason is fine, but my one experience was the only one they get. The entire appointment was exactly 59 minutes. Not only that, when it came time to pay what should have been about $60, I was told it was all covered by the warranty on my Cooper Tires. They knew they would do it for free and still treated me just as good as a paying customer. In this day and age, that's something really worth noting.
