I was craving sushi and the fiance was craving meat, so we came to Gyu Ichiro and got the best of both worlds. For dinner, it's $49.95 per person whereas lunch is definitely a better deal. Everything is ordered through an iPad with photos, which is convenient. While the meat isn't Wagyu quality, it's still solid with various options. We had different cuts from filet mignon, steak, beef ribs, shabu beef, pork bowl, beef tongue, beef belly, and more. The pork and chicken selection is quite limited, but the beef is where it's at anyways. As for the sushi, I ordered the kamikaze and golden snake roll which were both good. The proportions were good and good amount of fish on them. There's also a limit of one sushi or sashimi or each kind of fish, which was just ok. The sashimi was just decent, so I'd stick to the rolls here. We also got a couple of sides as well with the lemon boneless chicken feet being quite the star --loved this one! I never knew you could get boneless chicken feet, which made it so easy and fun to eat. Of course you still might find a few bits of bone, but not a big deal. The food came out pretty quickly and we were stuffed by the end. I also enjoyed the yakiniku and chili powder, which was the perfect condiments to the meats. It's such a cute vibe too with the individual private booths for each table. It's perfect for 2-4 people to dine here. It's a tad pricey, but great if you're looking for variety with Japanese BBQ and sushi.

The restaurant was cute and felt authentic with the Japanese decorations and theming. I sat on a booth that was elevated on a platform that was private with walls separating booths. For $50 in NYC, I thought the price was reasonable, coming from DC with their AYCE options. They had a wide selection of sushi, meats, and appetizers you order directly from their tablet (like KPot KBBQ). The scallion pancake was one of my favorite apps, very crispy and had just the right amount of thickness to stuff seafood. The meats tasted fresh and high quality, compared to a grocery store or cheaper restaurants. The service was decent. My table was behind the server's table with the supplies and register. I had to ask them for water or an update on a missing item that was requested on the tablet. However, they were nice and quick about getting me whatever I needed. I would definitely come back here for some good Japanese BBQ that's AYCE. It's a nice change from the many KBBQ AYCE restaurants.

Came for lunch + dinner lunch which is sorta worth it for the AYCE part, options extremely limited but for the price in the 20s isn't to bad. Service is basic just take and come with the dishes, and one perk is you get your own booth so you get privacy Meats - 3/10 Sushi - 5/10 Others - 3/10 Dinner for 50$ (60ish after tax/tip) not worth (avoid), the only difference between lunch and dinner is the sashimi, and that's extremely limited and quality of fish is subpar at best... (a lot of better places for dinner but if no choice might as well) only reason I came was I got influenced because it said "AYCD sake tuesdays" and I guess it wasn't the case

We made reservation just in case the restaurant was pack. Upon arriving we told the staff that reservation was made and it was honor. We were seated immediately inside a booth. At first I didn't realize it but then some people were waiting near a door and realized was seated near the bathroom. I guess there is limited option on where to seat us. So it's a walkway full of private booth. We were seated and given an iPad for ordering. We were given ice water and we ordered as much as we want on the iPad and orders get sent to the kitchen. We were able to tried mostly all the beef, pork cuts on the menu. There were also sashimi and sushi options. No ice cream option in the end. Only a jelly dessert which doesn't seem appealing. Service was quick and but they did missed a vegetable on our list. We were only to order one round of meat as it was too filling to go for a second round of meat. Price was $63 dollars which did not include tips yet.

Food: I was extremely disappointed with this meal, especially because of how much the quality has gone down since the last time I was here about a year ago. The quality of the meat was not good at all. A lot of the meat was very tough and not enjoyable. This restaurant should be embarrassed for serving meat of this quality. The selection of foods is also very limited compared to the first time I dined here. The all you can eat price of $48 includes sushi rolls, sashimi, appetizers (edamame, takoyaki, seaweed salad, kani salad, calamari, seafood pancake, gyoza), and meats for grilling. For this price point, I would expect more of a selection of food as well as higher quality. Service: The service was disappointing as well. The servers come to bring you your food, but there is no service other than that. Our grill was all burnt and we had to ask them to change it. We were also out of water by the end of the meal, but nobody was around to refill it. Ambiance: The decor and ambiance of this place is very nice. Seating is comfortable. They don't have large tables for larger groups though; the most a table can see is six people. If you come with a larger group than that, you'd have to sit at separate tables. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant at all and definitely won't be returning. I would suggest spending your money elsewhere for a better meal.

TLDR: An all-you-can-eat place with a good number of options at a higher price point. It's good for what it is, but there are definitely better options for those in search of a better deal. Food - The meats were good. The marbling wasn't great, but the flavor was definitely there. The additional side options on the iPad are worth trying, but they will definitely distract you from ordering more meat. The taste definitely gets old after a bit, but I'm thankful this is also around the time that the 90-minute timer ended. Service - Orders are mostly done on the iPad. The server really just shows up to refill water, drop off the ordered food, and provide assistance when paying for the bill. Ambiance - We got seated closer to the entrance, so I didn't get to see the rest of the store. It is quite different from most all-you-can-eat spots that I've been to though, since the portion of the establishment that I did see didn't seem worried about maximizing headcount. The restaurant had many "semi-private" cubicles where parties of 4-6 could eat, and this pretty much dominated the 1st for. It is good for parties who don't want to hear other tables but inefficient for the establishment who wants to maximize headcount.

Came here with a group of 3 and was seated in a booth. They have reservations available, but I don't think you really need to, it was quite empty on a weekday evening. You order through a tablet and the food came out pretty quickly for us which was great. But the quality of the meats wasn't very good in my opinion. The only one that was decent was the meat that was marinated. I've definitely had better bbq elsewhere. And FYI, they don't cook the meats for you, so you'll have to cook yourself which wasn't a big deal for us, but for some ppl it might be. (I know 99 favor taste, the staff cooks for you). And don't be afraid to ask for a grill change!

$50 all you can eat Japanese bbq & sushi so you can't really go wrong here. Came here on a Thursday night with the boys and it was pretty empty. Food was good so if you're a fan of Japanese bbq I'd def check this spot out

Food (4/5): Solid food for an all you can eat place. The meat is pretty good and so is the sushi. Quality isn't the highest as some of the meat was chewy but still pretty good. Service (3/5): Service was decent. They infrequently checked up on us and didn't really refill water or adjust our grate until we adked which got charcoal burned after a while. But the food did mostly come out fast except some of our sushi rolls which came out oddly very late. Ambiance (4/5) Nice ambiance with great Japanese decorations. The seating can be a bit cramped and they need to add another restroom.

Let's start with the good.. the food! There are some mixed reviews here but honestly I found it pretty enjoyable. There are a variety of cuts of meat for grilling and plenty of options for sashimi or nigiri. I would say there were fewer appetizers than other all you can eat Japanese places, but I certainly left full! They're lucky I care mostly about the food. However, I would describe the service and ambience as unfriendly, bordering on antagonistic. I arrived without a reservation as I saw there were plenty open throughout the night, so I figured a walk in would be no problem. The hostess said something about waiting 5 minutes and I didn't fully understand, but I figured she went to check if there was a table available and walked to the back. This wouldn't even register to me normally but contributed to the tone of the rest of the evening.. I checked my phone and saw there was a reservation open within 20 minutes anyway so I was just slightly put off. I did love the private booths, for a date night or maybe catching up with old friends it could be alright. Just don't look up, it's not the prettiest view--pipes and an unfinished ceiling. You cook on the grill yourself whereas some other places will usually come around and move things around for you and ask if you want the grill changed. We found that we were really left to ourselves, adjusting the heat, only getting a grill changed when we asked etc. We were sat next to wherever they receive orders??? Because we heard the constant dinging of an alert sound near the servers over.. and over.. and over throughout the meal. Not only that, a server kept dragging their feet along the floor to make their sneakers squeak. I started to wonder if I was on reality tv... the one good thing I could say about service was that it was quick. So will I be back? Don't think so. Plenty of other AYCE BBQ places with a friendlier vibe.

This restaurant is AYCE, but I have been here prior to them turning into an AYCE. If you come on weekdays and during lunch, it will be cheaper than the weekend and dinner prices. I always come out of this place with my belly about to explode haha. I came with a group of 5 around 6:30 and the place was pretty quiet, probably because it was a random weekday. They have meats and sushi. Most recently, if we posted something on social media, we got a free lobster. They gave us 2 fresh lobster to grill and they were delicious. We ordered 3 rounds of meats and sushi, but one of the rounds never got to us so we had to reorder. Nothing better than an AYCE! If you want dessert, they have Matcha Maiko and Prince Tea House across the street which is really convenient!!

    Patty C.

Food and service was phenomenal!! AYCE lunch is $25, dinner is $50. Dinner is the best option. I love that they have a tablet to order from, minimize socializing with the staff Food was really good! The seafood pancake was delicious. Sushi so yum, I loved the fried sushi roll. Meats were also delicious. Good deal to get bbq food

I saw this place on my instagram and knew that I wanted to come here. I made a reservation online through google reservations and we got seated right away when we came here. They offer both Japanese BBQ and sushi. You order everything through the iPad. The service was actually really fast and good. The decor of the place was nice as well. The one downside I would say of this place is that they did not give us any thongs or butter for the meat so some of the meat did stick to the grill but it was not too bad. -All the marinated meats were good -There was one of the meat which was cubed - don't recommend that; was very tough and it kept getting stuck in my teeth -Kani Salad: Not bad; pretty fresh -Seafood pancake: Very delicious; very crispy -Iced Brown Sugar Jelly for dessert which was very refreshing and a good touch after eating all the salty dishes Overall - very great vibes and would recommend checking this place out if you want AYCE sushi and meat. I would recommend eating more of the meat over the sushi (nothing too special about the sushi).

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.
