A place that's doing it right in soo many ways is exactly what you will find here they are doing it right by surviving during a pandemic amongst many other closed up businesses some of which have been gone for years it's these types of small DIY eateries that need to live on because they are truly what's good! Coming here with some friends one of which spoke highly of the Gyros here did not disappoint as the sandwich was killer super flavorful meat with a yummy cucumber sauce that was perfect on the yummy pita bread like I over my gyros and this is up there with the better ones I've ever had anywhere like the whole flavorful combination was just what's good! Their baklava was also very flavorful and fresh it was definitely a delicious treat to an already quite yummy sandwich that baklava you just definitely gotta add to your order as you'd be missing out not to. Currently there's no seating inside but hopefully that goes back to normal soon as it's out of their control. Overall very delicious gyros and other goodies I definitely look forward to coming back here again as it's just an awesome small little place that's doing it right so do yourself a favor add them to your bookmarks and pay them a visit it's totally worth it! read more

I would go back and try something else. The gals taking orders and delivery at the window were exceptional polite. I went for the gyros and the meat was good however the tzatziki sauce could be substantially better. It is too thick, lacks a true cucumber presence. Five stars for what it is - it's hyros and gyro-ajacent fresh food, with indoor seating if your're eating there. It's not fine dining or a sitdown prix-fixe meal or fancypants. I had no idea what to expect. I was out in Elyria to go to a lab for my bi-weekly blood test - chemo is a trip. My stepmom remembered this place from when she taught nearby. I ordered the large (whichever is the largest) classic gyro. This is one of those great, old school one-off places where you order at the counter, and wait for your number to be called (I know it sounds like "that's what you do at any fast food place!") but this building is older and invites nostalgia. It seemed like about 75% of the orders were takeout, same for us. The sandwich was PACKED with slices of seasoned meat. Maybe a wee bit salty for my taste, and I would have liked some really ripe tomato slices & cucumber, but that aside, it was great. Soft, fresh bread, cucumber sour cream (you get your choice of sour cream or cucumber sour cream), and plenty of onions. I love onions so I was happy. If you don't like 'em, you know what to do. Soft drinks/colas/sodas/pop choices were there. I had a large "Skittle" soda pop (New to me! Love when that happens! I'm gonna assume its Skittles flavor, kind of red punch with orange soda) and I'd do it again. read more

GREAT place for a right priced lunch. Lots of variety, hence the "more". Their daily soup menu is full of excellent choices. The unstuffed green pepper soup and the lemon chicken soup are two of my favorites. I get the Greek Pita most frequently with a side of cucumber sauce(very authentic.) Great little restaurant with tasty food! Their prices are low, but it's not in the greatest part of town, so maybe that's why. Let's put it this way... I wouldn't go to that part of Lorain after dusk. Their gyros and sammiches are very good and they cook pretty quickly! They also have a nice little dining room too. The girl who waited on me was rude, acted like it hurt her to wait on me. They no longer have fried ravioli. They also are passing on the 4% charge for using a debit card. I would put up the gyros as this spot against the whole city of Columbus, save the old Apollo in the OSU campus area. The really understand that a gyro with extra crispy pita means a gyro with extra crispy pita. They've got a diverse menu from everything like the Mr. Broadway " cheese burger to slabs of ribs on Saturdays ( they run out quickly so you have to plan to get yours ) to the best banana milkshake with an extra squirt of banana you'll find anywhere! read more

As long as I've been a local, enjoying local food; I'm sad to say that my recent experience was disappointing. In fact it was life changing. I will never eat chicken again. I felt like I could see the gradient textures of the chicken's skin. As if it was raw. The breading was mushy and the skin was veiny and raw like. I'm gagging while typing. Here's my grievance. I was there Wed. Oct. 14, 2020 approx 3:00 p.m. While I was waiting for my order, two incidents occurred within 3 or 4 minutes. Two separate people walked in without masks. I wanted to say something, but you never know about repercussions. Rules are posted plainly outside that masks must be worn, and that only 6 people are allowed inside at one time. Many times being there, this was the first time to happen. I expected the management / employees to ask those without masks to step outside. I am in my 70's and a high-risk person, so I felt like I needed to voice my complaint. No mask - no entrance! Maybe only phone orders for people that won't wear masks-wait outside for pickup. The gyro was pretty good, but the service was poor. When I went in to pick up I asked her if they had tartar sauce and she said yeah and just looked at me. I was just like, okay, can I have some please. And when I went to leave I told her to have a good day and she didn't say a word. The last time I was here was 1987 before I moved away to PA and it was called The Gyro House. It has changed a LOT since then. They've added a dining area, expanded their menu, and of course somewhat changed their name. I used to go here 2-3 times a week back in the 80s after I first "discovered" it. I LOVED the Gyro that I was introduced to here. Yesterday I ordered a Jumbo Gyro, a Catfish sandwich (I haven't had catfish in years), a shrimp basket, and a banana shake. The shake and Gyro were outstanding, The catfish was good, but a tad dry, and instead of getting a shrimp basket as I ordered, I found a some sort of chicken finger dinner in the bag. Since I'm limited on how far and much I can walk due to my disability I just overlooked it as they WERE extremely busy at the time and I have worked in both fast food and retail so I understand how mistakes can be made at times like that (but it's also why I'm giving them a 4 instead of a 5). Today, I went and got another banana shake, a shrimp basket, and a rib dinner. The ribs were extremely tender and fell off the bone which is what I need with my dental situation and I actually got my shrimp basket this time which was excellent! And I don't think I have to repeat about how good the banana shakes are. I may go and get another one on Monday, and Tuesday... All in all, this is a great place. The food is great (some excellent and some good which evens out to great for all), the staff is extremely friendly and courtious, and the prices are reasonable. They run specials every day. Best quick food to get in Lorain. No, it's not in the best neighborhood but I've never had any problems. The ladies behind the counter are seriously so nice! I've been here quite a few times just in the last month and I've never had a bad experience. I really enjoy their broccoli cheese bite thingies, and their fish sandwiches. I've had all of the versions of them and liked every single one. I do wish that they'd toast the buns though! (I bet if I asked they would.) Their cucumber sause is AWESOME, by the way.
