Upon delivery, the team did not bring batteries and therefore could not verify that the unit powered on. I purchased the required batteries that same evening, but the equipment still failed to power up. This appears to be due to either a loose or disconnected console mast wire or a faulty console. I immediately contacted my salesperson, Bryan Fortini, via email and voicemail. He did not respond. When I visited the store in person, he stated there was nothing he could do except report it to the delivery team. This is unacceptable. As the salesperson and my primary point of contact, he represents the company and should have responded promptly and taken ownership of the issue. The lack of responsiveness and ownership in this situation is extremely disappointing--especially considering that our household has invested over $15K in Johnson Fitness equipment since 2021. We've purchased multiple products, including an Octane Fitness elliptical, a Matrix stationary bike, a treadmill, and the Matrix S-Force Trainer, to build out our home gym. Given this level of commitment and loyalty, I expect a much higher standard of service. This experience falls well short of how a repeat customer should be treated.

To me this means a lot, especially during the COVID-19 Crisis where so many people seem to not care about their customers. Even though it potentially meant the loss of a sale, he gave us a service recommendation, which worked out well for us. We were quite impressed by John's helpfulness and integrity. Do not do business here. This business sold me a Waterower machine, natural color, for $1,499 plus…read moretax ($89). They said it was commercial grade and worth $3,000. I looked it up online and the same model, new, costs $1,199. I then called the manufacturer and they looked up the serial number. The unit I purchased was built in 2017. I called the store and asked what they would do to remedy the situation. Because they had already paid commissions to the sales rep (I bought this 2 days ago), they were willing to take it back for a full in-store credit or give me back $300. I don't want a credit because I don't trust the store, and the $300 refund makes it equivalent to the price of a new unit, yet it's six years old and has a one warranty from the store. The manufacturer said they are not an authorized reseller so I'm not sure how they would initiate a warranty repair. I called back the next day to facilitate then refund and asked if perhaps I could just pay them the amount they paid the sales rep in commission and then get a full refund. The owner got very upset with my line of questioning and eventually hung up. No refund. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. This is a dishonest company that is more worried more about having to take back commission from their sales rep than they are making the customer happy. Do not do business here.

The machine Precor machine was used, which reduced the price by over 50 percent. Chip refurbished it, and excepting a few minor "chips" of paint missing, it is in great condition. I knew I wanted this particular machine because I had used it elsewhere. As I said commenting on the leg press machine, when buying new equipment, what's important is the manufacturer because if there's a warranty issue the manufacturer stands behind it. But when buying used equipment, the character of the sales person is of the utmost importance because that person's word is really the only recourse if there's a problem. I have found Chip to be honest in describing the equipment, answering our questions fully. He never tries to upsell. The equipment he sells is in excellent condition. The delivery and assembly went smoothly (with no damage) despite having to go down a flight of stairs and making a sharp turn at the bottom. He spent ample time showing me some exercises to do on the machine. In sum, I highly recommend doing business with Chip for fitness equipment.

Machine was delivered and set up right on time and exactly as I needed it... and it was AWESOME. My entire family loves working out on it - incredibly well built and sturdy, very quiet, and workouts can span from something nice and light to a real soul-killer. About 3 months ago, the resistance stopped working... and I thought to myself "uhoh... here we go again... I'm going to call and get the runaround and this will never get fixed." I called and Bob picked up, took my information, submitted a work order - and the service repair request was in... I was very surprised with how easy and responsive they were. About two weeks went by as I waited for the repair part... so I followed up with service... and they apologized, stating that the part was backordered and they were having trouble finding a replacement due to COVID. Now I'm getting a little skeptical... thinking "here we go again with the runaround." But sure enough - a week or two later, the part showed up... and Fit Repairs set up an appointment to come do the repair two days later... Two days later - the repair person, Charles, from Fit Repairs shows up - very professional, extremely nice, and he proceeded to work on the machine... he worked on it for over TWO HOURS... and I could tell he was doing his very best to get things to work. Turned out that he needed an additional part to complete it... but my problem was that we were moving in a few weeks, so I could not wait another month for it to arrive. Charles said that he couldn't guarantee anything, but he would personally put in the order and make sure it gets delivered in time (and I'm thinking in the back of my head "sure.. here we go again..."). But... two days later I get a package with the new part - and Fit Repairs set up an appointment almost immediately. Charles came out again - and was able to get everything working perfectly (which was not easy... I watched some of the work - the man knew what he was doing). So... first, I want to apologize for ever doubting those in customer support - Bobby, Johnson Fitness, Fit Repairs, Charles, etc, and thank you all for your help... you all surprised me with the level of professionalism, responsiveness, and customer obsession. I've become jaded by too many bad experiences with other companies... this experience was truly something great. Finally - if you're looking for some good fitness equipment and were ever concerned about the support you'd receive down the road... buy it here. You won't be disappointed.

At Johnson the focus is on service and product knowledge. The sales person knew the products and was able to explain the various pros and cons without seeming pushy or too explainy (if that is a word). Their products and prices cater to those willing to spend significantly more than one would pay at a big box. However, the quality is leaps and bounds over those products too. Delivery, setup, and take away of the old machine was about $350 on top of the sales price. I feel the process and overall experience was excellent. Although the prices are higher than other places, it may be a case of you pay for what you get. Definitely would recommend Johnson's to people in my circle.

I returned a month later after doing more research and testing of equipment and chose the model I felt the most comfortable on. Buying it was a breeze! I called Steve to inform him that I was coming back out there to buy it ....by the time I got there, the paperwork was done and I just signed in the dotted line! It took longer for me to drive there than it did for me to buy it ha! So, the elliptical arrived and the gentlemen who assembled it were professional and quick! They were done assembling it within 15 mins! I immediately started my exercise regimen and haven't stopped yet. I love my new elliptical - suspension trainer! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Johnson Wellness and Steve when looking for any type of exercise equipment. I almost forgot! I had some trouble locating the numbers on the machine to input in the registration process. I called the store and spoke with Andrew who was just as nice and professional as Steve!
