Recently I took my car here (where I've gotten tires multiple times in the past) to have my tire…read morepressure censors replaced. I came here because their quote was nearly half what my regular mechanic quoted. That's the only good part. I brought my car in and was told the service would take about 45 minutes. It was returned to me in only about 30 minutes, which I thought was a positive at the time....would later discover this was more a sign of trying to do a job too fast and not getting it right. When I picked up my car, I was told the low tire pressure dash light would stay on for another 20 minutes and then reset and turn off, and that my display would return to showing the pressure readings in all tires.....not true. I drove the car home to Atascadero...light stayed on and censors still not showing pressures. I later ran an errand to Santa Maria (at least 60 min round trip)....censors still not reset. I had to drive back to their location in Paso to have them address it; turns out the technician did not push the reset button that's under the steering column. Then, the next day, two of my tires were nearly flat. My husband checked and both were leaking air, which he said was because the valve stems were not tightened enough, something the store can only do properly. So back again I go (now third trip for same issue). The front desk staff said they would inspect all four tires and address any issues found. They tried to return it after addressing only one of the tires that had been leaking air. It was only after my husband insisted AGAIN that they check all of the tires, which they finally did and agreed there was a second tire that was leaking air. Given that I was trading in the vehicle that very week (for a new car purchase) and needed a dash without warning lights, this repeated failure to do a thorough job caused me so much stress that I will never return here for any servicing again. Clearly the staff are not fully attentive to (and trying to rush through) their tasks.

Mind you she is 16 and her car does not have full coverage so we were not going to open a claim (her insurance is high enough as it is). Trish at Walmart Auto Care is a rockstar. She has the knowledge and took great care of us when we arrived - as did the tire cats. They were friendly, took time to explain things (the AAA dude stripped my lug nuts when putting on my donut - that was fun) and made sure we were GOOD before sending us back on the road. Their prices are noticeably lower than the other tire chains. If that matters, then you should bring your car here for tires and save a few bucks. Most of all, though, you'll be TAKEN CARE OF. And that's what it's really all about. Comfortable little waiting room was available and, of course, about ninety zillion items in the main store. If that ain't enough to kill time...you got too much time on your hands.

He saw me stopped at the air pump and offered his help right away, insurance was giving the run around and saying it was gonna be $800 to tow it to Santa Maria and Frank was able to fix it right there on the spot for $100! Also, my tires are tube tire tires with wire rims, so it is something more specialty that most people don't know how to do and he did not blink an eye! It was earlier in the morning and I desperately needed to be somewhere. I called several mobile commercial tire repair shops, but no one was available at that moment. I called Mark from Marks tire. I told him my problem and where I was. He said his shop was right around the corner. I drove a mile down the road to his shop. Mark himself showed up a little before opening time, him and another employee got right to work. I was back on the road in 30 minutes. I can't remember the last time I saw a business owner getting his hands dirty. This is a great business owned by an old school guy.

It's an $800+ tire that will need to be ordered so I hopped on Yelp to find a local dealer to handle it over my break. The folks at Marks were so helpful and would be happy to order a new tire but suggested their techs should take a close look at the problem to see if it could be repaired. So in I go and they pulled off the tire, fixed it, and remounted it all in less than an hour for $57. Really terrific service, great staff, total professionals and a lesser shop could have easily sold me a pricey tire but Mark's took the time to see if they could fix mine up instead and I super appreciate it. I'll be back next time I need tires for sure.
