This visit was one of the craziest restaurant experiences I've had to date. I'll try to abbreviate this review but here are the highlights: We started by ordering 8 waters and only got 2. Then 5 of the other waters came about 15 minutes later, along with the 1 coffee we ordered that was spilled on the person who ordered it by the waitress, who didn't apologize or offer any napkins for clean up. (We had no napkins or silverware). Two plates of food (2 of 8) came out within about 30 minutes of ordering. We then asked for silverware and napkins and about 10 minutes later the server came and dropped a pile of silverware on our table and 2 napkins for us to share. The rest of our food took another hour to come out... after we asked twice for a status update. The waitress did apologize and said she was going to give us a 15% discount for the wait but failed to actually apply the discount to our ticket. They also charged us for 2 extra sides at $4.50 each that we didn't get. We didn't say anything because we just wanted to get out of there. Do not recommend.

It had a chalupa, a taco, an enchilada, a burrito, a tamale, a chili relleno, beans and rice. The fajitas were a major disappointment. Bland. A total lack of flavor. That never happens with fajitas, right? Did they forget the salt? The seasonings? The beans were great. The rice was fluffy. But the fajitas were so bland nothing could make up for it. I used all the salsa we had left to try and give them something. My partner thought the El Dinner was OK. Filling and decent. We will definitely try somewhere else if we return to Great Bend.

Gone was the old cigarette smoke-filled and alcohol-fueled hazy look of the Golden Q of yesteryear and in its place is a semi-recently remodeled and expanded Golden Q... one that is now CLEAN, smoke free and includes a couple of back rooms, tons of tvs and a back patio. You can still drink your choice of alcohol (it's encouraged,) you can still play pool if you want and most importantly, you can still enjoy a Q Burger (or your burger of choice,) but you don't have to feel bad about bringing some underage members of the family during the afternoon to watch the game of your choice.
