I would not recommend this place, the server at the register was a very rude man in his middle age, he acted Like I took to long looking at the menu which was maybe 1 minute. then they just dumped the food in a container didnt care one bit how it was served and then I coulodnt eat it because it was so horrible tasting and cold. The most disgusting Chinese food I've ever had. The rice heads getting it, and the chicken was slimy. The rice was gross and disgusting and no one gave us a drop of soy sauce for any of it. They don't answer their phone and they are not responding through DoorDash. I would say stay away from this place. It was a waste of our money and we're hungry. read more

My California kids love their Chinese food so here we are in the middle of Kansas getting Chinese food! And what a pleasant surprise! We ordered Beef Bulgogi, Beef and Broccoli and Fried Dumplings. Both beef entrees came with fried rice (we substituted one for white rice). Everything was delicious! (A few bites already missing before we took pictures) Highly recommended! Definitely felt weird in a mostly empty shopping mall, but easy access since they were located right beside an entrance. read more

My husband and I were passing through town and ordered delivery to our hotel. The food delivered faster than estimated and it was hot. The shrimp with vegetables was very good and the sweet and sour chicken was good too. Suggestion: order an extra sweet and sour sauce as the sauce that came with the dish was minimal. I am in Hayes for work. Love Chinese so thought I would give this one a try. The hot and sour soup was fabulous! Ordered the Kung Pao chicken and it was very good. I got the lo mein noodles and they were a little bit larger noodle than I'm used to. Very filling and very tasty; hot and fresh! Could not finish my dinner and the price can't be beat. read more

I visit Hays a couple of days in a year and being Asian, I have to have my Asian food. Their food when I came to visit last year, was excellent. This is why I came to this place the first say I got in Hays this week. The price went up a little & the serving is smaller, but tha's alright. Still cheaper than California prices (where I am from). However, their Mongolian beef is super spicy, you can't even enjoy the taste of tje food cause all you notice is how hot it is! The sweet & sour chicken was all breading, some literally didn't even have bits of chicken in it! I literally had to toss the sweet & sour chicken. This place is below average even for mall food court Chinese places. Ignore for a minute the fact that it doesn't even pretend to be authentic. The food is hit and miss, either it's completely bland with limp soggy vegetables, or it's spiced far past the point of practicality. Both options come with the food swimming in its own grease and oil. Service is good, but that's one of the only good things I can say about this place. read more

Personally, as a Chinese, I find this place quite good as a real Chinese restaurant. The foods are properly cooked in a Chinese way and the taste is delicious. Not having a five star is for the potential improvement place of the balance of meat and vegetables (more vegetables please). But the overall impression is very good! read more

My Vietnamese wife and I were travelling through Hays. She's had her fill of American fast food the past week, so we looked online for something different. And we found an Imperial Garden Express. But there was a review from one Hays local that was critical of the food and rated it one star. So we almost didn't come. But I looked at the menu, and they serve Vietnamese noodle soup, ph, so I convinced my wife to give it a try. The ph wasn't as good as the best Vietnamese restaurants in Wichita, a much larger city, but it was pretty good. My wife was grateful to have it, and I tried a bite myself. It was reasonably good ph. I purchased broccoli beef myself. It wasn't as great as my favorite local restaurant back home, and there may be better Chinese in Hays. But it was still pretty good; tasty, filling, convenient, and reasonably priced. I walked out satisfied. If we drive through Hays again I think we'll try this place again. read more
