We stopped here for lunch one day on our road trip from California to Virginia. I had the chicken parm and my wife had the lasagna. Both were excellent. On our trip back home we stopped here again for lunch. That time I tried the lasagna, and my wife had the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. Both meals were excellent. Tiny building from the outside but it packs a big punch of good food, the veal and eggplant parmigiana and amazing hot rolls are made in house and I had a surprisingly good house Pinot Grigio. I tried to call and purchase a dinner and desert for my mothers upcoming birthday and the woman that answered the phone was HORRIBLE! She told me that I could never ever ever speak with the manager or owner and that if I called back she would report me to the police? What in the world? Why would someone do that when you are trying to support their business? I sure hope to hear back from the manager about this as it was terribly upsetting! read more

The food is amazing. Owner makes pasta herself fresh. Italian food, and straight from Europe. They are new here, only a month. They fed our whole basketball team, food was quality and fast! Another delicious and fun night at the Italian Cafe in Hays, KS. Hayley was our efficient and knowledgeable server. We had a table of 6 with 2 bottles of delicious wine, and some guys drank beer. We had Cheesy Garlic Bread and Mussels as shared appetizers & I had the Lobster Ravioli. One picture to showcase it. Some had the Tour of Italy dish, one had Grandma's Lasagna, a Chicken Parmigiana and a Veal Piccata was also ordered. A complimentary Lemon Chello dessert for our birthday boy. Not much atmosphere but the food is authentic and outstanding! We went looking for this one we loved it so much a couple of months ago when we were traveling through Hayes. Huge lobster raviolis in a "pink" sauce that was thick and creamy. Greek salad was delicious also. They were busy, but the food came out fast and hot. Waiter was always checking on us. 3 of us went to the Italian Cafe for lunch. The food was delicious perfectly paired with a glass of Pinot Noir from California. 2 had The Veal Parmigiano and one had Eggplant Parmigiano both dishes were piping hot. They were each served with a huge amount of pasta as a side dish accompanied by small bread and butter. We highly recommend those two dishes. For desert we all shared a huge Tiramissu that was delicious. The food was nicely plated and served by our waiter Niko who was very attentive to our needs. read more
