I'd been looking forward to trying Guthrie's for a while, since I saw they were opening in Raleigh. After my experience, my reaction is how is this place different than the other chicken finger places that already exist? I still don't know. I got the 3 tender combo with fries, Texas toast, and a drink. The half and half iced tea was pretty solid, though I had to stir it up to get the two teas combined. Texas toast: Very good. Crispy, a little buttery, but not over the top. Fries were crinkle cut, like they seem to be at every chicken finger restaurant in America. They were really hot and crispy, they tasted super fresh. Maybe a little seasoning would've helped them though. I would get some pepper to go with the salt. But what it all come down to is the chicken fingers. They were fine. Not thrilling, not disappointing, just fine. They were not the largest chicken fingers I've seen. The crispiness was there, but only if I looked for it. If I bit too quickly, I wouldn't hear any crunch at all. Also, they could have been hotter, temp wise, like the fries were. It's as if they made too many and I got what was left. At least they were not overly greasy, like I've had at other chicken finger joints. And they have that sauce, yes the typical chicken finger sauce, and it's a great dip for just about anything in the basket. The person at the drive thru was quite helpful and engaging. Though I was asked if I wanted the box combo, so they do a little suggestive selling over there. Nothing wrong with that. Truthfully, I try to limit my fast food. And if it doesn't blow my mind, I'm not likely to be back. And sadly, I was not blown away. read more

Happen to be nearby and saw that Guthrie's was now open and thought I would try it for late lunch early dinner. The drive-through is a little bit confusing because you have to kind of circle behind an urgent care. I did notice that the menu is very limited, there are no desserts and very limited side options. The unsweet tea was actually very good, the actual chicken is pretty much like anything you would get at any place that sells chicken tenders at a fast food place. Nothing really set any of it apart. The fries were OK, they do include Texas toast, which was pretty good. I think this is probably a one and done for us. Just nothing, really set it apart as far as the food went. The two ladies that were working the drive-through window were very friendly! read more

I enjoy eating the chicken finger combo with fries, but I do not like the coleslaw. This fast food chain is located in a crowded area on Wake Forest Rd. Pay attention and be careful driving on Wake Forest Rd as well as Six Forks Rd, unless you want your car to be totaled. The ambience is basic, and staff are mediocre. There is nothing special about this place, but it's nice to have a break from Cane's and Zaxby's. read more

Guthrie's - Chicken Wings Near Me - Raleigh, North Carolina

First time trying in Raleigh and won't be back. Confusing board only offering combos and large amounts of tenders.. 50 to 100 range. Lots of people working but seemed confused. All I wanted was 10 chicken fingers.. no sides or drinks. After some confusion they said 13 for 15. To me that meant 13 tenders with 3 sauces for $15.. No price sheets to view so you have to depend on them.. Well it ended up being $21.36 for 10 tenders in what they call half a bucket. I reluctantly paid because I was tired of the confusion. Now for the tenders.. okay, but not worth the price for the small size.. plus so so so salty. We tried and won't be back, but do your own research before going and verify the price. read more

I have been to this location a few times. The quality is inconsistent, and it only seems to be going down hill. The first time I visited this location, the tenders were of your average chicken tender size for a place like this, which means typically around 5". I found them juicy and comparable to other restaurants where tenders are the main item they're known for. But each visit since then has gotten progressively worse, to the point that it felt like they were serving me a baby's portion tonight. I ordered a 6 piece box to share with my 9yo, which is usually enough for us both. None of the tenders were more than 2.5" in length however. If they had doubled up the order (they did throw in one extra) and included around 11-12 tenders, that would be one thing - though not sufficient imho because smaller tenders = less plump and juicy meat overall, which heavily affects the flavor with this type of food. If supplier issue is the cause behind this, then also fine - but mak your customers aware of this, and at least apologize. Instead, I blindly bring this box home expecting something similar to what we've ordered in the past, only for us both to be greatly disappointed. My 9yo finished their share of the tenders in record time. On top of that, the Texas toast is below-average compared to other places like Raising Cane's. The fries are basically a wash between the two, but when your tenders are terribly proportioned for the price, and the toast isn't at that same level, there is literally no reason to come back to this place. read more

Guthrie's - Fries for scale. Seriously: pathetic excuse for a tender from a chicken tenders restaurant! - Chicken Wings Near Me - Raleigh, North Carolina

All I have to say is YUMMM! As soon as I walked in I was greeted, and offered a beverage before I ordered. Now this is a service. I ordered the 5 piece and the chicken was cooked to perfection and delicious! The chicken waa seasoned, food was fast and came out hot. They just gained a loyal customer. They also have great parking! read more

This was my first time experiencing Guthrie's and I will say it is basically Canes. I don't know the lore of both the restaurants or anything but they are basically the same in terms of menu. Only thing different is that Guthries has a bucket of wings. The vibe was just like a little fast food spot it was very fast and fresh and the service was nice. I took it to go and I live close by and it was still steaming hot by the time I dove in. The tenders are better than Canes imo they have a bit more seasoning and the fries are way less bland than Canes. The Texas toast was good as well! The sauce I loved pretty similar to Canes. The Big G combo is the way to go 6 tenders was not too filling. Overall I would give it a solid 3/5 but I would DEFINITELY go here over Canes. read more

The chicken fingers were piping hot. The restaurant is clean and brand new. The staff here seemed relatively inexperienced in providing a welcoming atmosphere or the ability to return pleasantries when I showed up pleasant and polite. Overall, great concept to have a Guthrie's right in Midtown. The chicken fingers and fries were really good. A bit in the pricy side for fast food but I think it aligns with the times we are currently in as I write this review. I do recommend the chicken fingers. read more

This place is well known in Alabama for great food so was excited to learn they are now in Raleigh. Did the drive thru. Waited five minutes after paying. Asked for ketchup. Drove away and oarked to eat. No ketchup, Texas toast was soggy, fries undercooked and chicken fingers were quite greasy. Very disappointing. read more

Chicken was firm, fresh and moist. Breading was crisp though a bit lacking in flavor. Fries were good. Toast was very tasty. Slaw was good. Service was a bit rushed and they didn't really seem happy. read more

Service was extremely fast, but that's to be expected when you only sell chicken tender and fries. The chicken tenders were really fresh and their signature sauce is good. The fries could've used some salt or seasoning. I would go back if I'm in the area but definitely wouldn't drive out of my way to eat there. read more

$12 for four tiny chicken tenders, a tiny drink, and a plate full of fries and bread. Save your money, go to Cookout and live like a king! read more

This chicken was delicious. It's slightly more breaded than Cane's, but more seasoned so more flavor. The tenders have a little more crunch to each bite as well. They don't need the sauce for flavor as they are seasoned pretty well. The fries were crisp and tasty. They didn't have a seasoning, but they went really well in the Guthrie's sauce. The sauce itself is tangy and similar to a Cane's sauce or Zax sauce. It is a bit milder in flavor. The bread was amazing. It was quite buttered and thus had lots of flavor. The service in the drive through was slightly above average on speed, but the workers were friendly. read more

I first noticed Guthrie's while it was being built on Wake Forest Road in Raleigh. Hadn't heard of it so I looked it up...saw that it was based in Alabama...and its claim to fame, fried chicken fingers. What's not to love about that?! It's been open a week but I was just able to go today. It did not disappoint! It's amazing that you can make it sixty years with just chicken fingers. The staff is super friendly. Next time you're on Wake Forest Road make this a stop! read more

Amazing service at Guthie's! We passed by heading home and had never tried it before so stopped by right before they opened! We were expecting to wait a little until they opened but CoCo took our order and just updated us that they weren't open just yet and that she was dropping some chicken now so it would be hot for us! Amazing Sunday service!! Food smelled so good that we had to sample it before we even made it home!! Food was hot, fresh, and tasty! We will be back again for sure!! Thanks CoCo and team!! read more

First time eating IN at Guthrie's. Nicely lighted seating and clean environment. As soon as I walked in I saw a young man that works behind the counter holding the door with his foot as he exited because he washed his hands. Very friendly staff, small note it's nice to talk with co-workers I do the same just acknowledging customers when the walk up it to counter(not a complaint but a suggestion). The chicken was small than Chick fil La it was tasty and crispy, toast was soft and good. I didn't care for the Guthrie sauce, BUT no problem there had all of the traditional flavors we all like. read more

The chicken tenders were fresh... the fries were good. Very much like Raising Canes which I love. My reason for three stars is because you can just have good food, and lack customer service. Ordering was rushed, the guy didn't ask what type of sauce we wanted. I asked the nice lady making drinks the types of sauces they had and she told me. So when I picked up the order when she it name was called, I asked for BBQ sauce. Instead of simply getting it. He says he has to charge me for it. So I asked him, had he asked us when ordering and we said BBQ sauce, would we be charged? He says No. So I say, we'll take back this Guthries sauce and give me bbq. He says. No keep that. He goes and gets the sauce, and STILL Charges me for the Bbq sauce! It's not the cost of the sauce. It's the fact that he didn't do his Job when taking the order, and he didn't own the situation and just fix it. read more

The chicken tenders are so so small. It offended me. I should not be able to eat a tender in one bite, at that point it is a damn nugget.

$12 for 4 salty and tough fingers..frozen crinkle fries. VERY BAD! That is a competitive food corridor...need to get it right or close..

I went here for the first time today. They did a great job! I would come back. I appreciate the idea they focus only on chicken. Sides were good! clean tables and good atmosphere. Manager came around and checked on everyone. I am a tough grader so never mind the one star dock:) read more

Workers not friendly and after waiting a very long time for my food it wasn't good. Nothing was worth eating except bbq bread.
