I enjoy eating the chicken finger combo with fries, but I do not like the coleslaw. This fast food chain is located in a crowded area on Wake Forest Rd. Pay attention and be careful driving on Wake Forest Rd as well as Six Forks Rd, unless you want your car to be totaled. The ambience is basic, and staff are mediocre. There is nothing special about this place, but it's nice to have a break from Cane's and Zaxby's.

Half bucket chicken tenders
Jeff B.

First time trying in Raleigh and won't be back. Confusing board only offering combos and large amounts of tenders.. 50 to 100 range. Lots of people working but seemed confused. All I wanted was 10 chicken fingers.. no sides or drinks. After some confusion they said 13 for 15. To me that meant 13 tenders with 3 sauces for $15.. No price sheets to view so you have to depend on them.. Well it ended up being $21.36 for 10 tenders in what they call half a bucket. I reluctantly paid because I was tired of the confusion. Now for the tenders.. okay, but not worth the price for the small size.. plus so so so salty. We tried and won't be back, but do your own research before going and verify the price.

Fries for scale. Seriously: pathetic excuse for a tender from a chicken tenders restaurant!

I have been to this location a few times. The quality is inconsistent, and it only seems to be going down hill. The first time I visited this location, the tenders were of your average chicken tender size for a place like this, which means typically around 5". I found them juicy and comparable to other restaurants where tenders are the main item they're known for. But each visit since then has gotten progressively worse, to the point that it felt like they were serving me a baby's portion tonight. I ordered a 6 piece box to share with my 9yo, which is usually enough for us both. None of the tenders were more than 2.5" in length however. If they had doubled up the order (they did throw in one extra) and included around 11-12 tenders, that would be one thing - though not sufficient imho because smaller tenders = less plump and juicy meat overall, which heavily affects the flavor with this type of food. If supplier issue is the cause behind this, then also fine - but mak your customers aware of this, and at least apologize. Instead, I blindly bring this box home expecting something similar to what we've ordered in the past, only for us both to be greatly disappointed. My 9yo finished their share of the tenders in record time. On top of that, the Texas toast is below-average compared to other places like Raising Cane's. The fries are basically a wash between the two, but when your tenders are terribly proportioned for the price, and the toast isn't at that same level, there is literally no reason to come back to this place.

The food was fresh, chicken and fries came out hot. Minimal seasoning on the chicken and none on the fries. Everything came out pretty quickly.

Good quick food. Moist flavorful chicken. Friendly staff. Clean place, although it's very new. I hope they keep it this way. Be sure you only want chicken tenders ... cause that's it.

All I have to say is YUMMM! As soon as I walked in I was greeted, and offered a beverage before I ordered. Now this is a service. I ordered the 5 piece and the chicken was cooked to perfection and delicious! The chicken waa seasoned, food was fast and came out hot. They just gained a loyal customer. They also have great parking!

This chicken was delicious. It's slightly more breaded than Cane's, but more seasoned so more flavor. The tenders have a little more crunch to each bite as well. They don't need the sauce for flavor as they are seasoned pretty well. The fries were crisp and tasty. They didn't have a seasoning, but they went really well in the Guthrie's sauce. The sauce itself is tangy and similar to a Cane's sauce or Zax sauce. It is a bit milder in flavor. The bread was amazing. It was quite buttered and thus had lots of flavor. The service in the drive through was slightly above average on speed, but the workers were friendly.

I first noticed Guthrie's while it was being built on Wake Forest Road in Raleigh. Hadn't heard of it so I looked it up...saw that it was based in Alabama...and its claim to fame, fried chicken fingers. What's not to love about that?! It's been open a week but I was just able to go today. It did not disappoint! It's amazing that you can make it sixty years with just chicken fingers. The staff is super friendly. Next time you're on Wake Forest Road make this a stop!

The food tastes ok but for the price, the portions are very bad. The amount of food they give could basically only feed a child. Check out the photos of my 3 piece from today

Tender

The chicken pieces are small and way too salty. Very disappointing! This is my second time here. The first time was pretty good but as you can tell the consistency is not good.

The chicken tenders are so so small. It offended me. I should not be able to eat a tender in one bite, at that point it is a damn nugget.

$12 for 4 salty and tough fingers..frozen crinkle fries. VERY BAD! That is a competitive food corridor...need to get it right or close..

We ordered the Chicago Dog, the Reuben Sandwich, and finished things off with a cannolo (yes, the singular form of cannoli). The Chicago Dog was delicious and loaded with flavor, although I have to admit the toxic-green relish initially threw me off a bit (see pic). Once I got past the visual shock, it was actually a fantastic hot dog that stayed true to its Chicago roots. The real star, though, was the Reuben Sandwich. At around $15, it was absolutely worth every penny. Generously stacked, perfectly toasted, and packed with tender meat, melty Swiss, tangy sauerkraut, and just the right amount of dressing. The cannolo was the perfect sweet ending to the meal -- crisp shell, creamy filling, and not overly sweet. What really stood out was how friendly everyone was. The staff made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. I'll definitely be back... especially for those Thursday $5 draft beer specials. Apex locals, you've got a gem here.

We both tried new things...the special of the day, Philly and a grilled cheese beef. Our sides were potato salad and pasta salad. We HAD to get the cannoli cake to share and believe me, it was plenty for both of us. The young lady at the register was so kind and friendly. A surprise for us was there was a man playing a guitar and singing! He added a lot to our dinner. Both of our sandwiches were great but we both thought the grilled one was best. It came with some great au jus that we both enjoyed. The potato salad is different here than in most places....and it was great. The pasta salad was just ok, we would not get it again with so many other great options. For those who are gluten free, they have gluten free bread and muffins! We were visited by a manager to see how things were which was nice. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options. Awesome!

They have a wide variety of sandwiches (hogies, deli style, cheesesteaks, chicken cutlets), along with burger and salad options. We opted for a cheesesteak, deli sandwich, and small salad which was the perfect amount of food for two people. My only word of caution is that the Calabrian Ceasar dressing is quite spicy, so use with caution or pick another if you don't like spicy food. The bread, meat, and toppings were all fresh and brought unique flavors that worked very well together. There was a good amount of seating both inside and outside that was clean and well kept. Be sure to check out the daily drink specials too - when we went it was $2 Tecate cans. Will definitely be back!

You can order at the counter or sit at a table and scan a QR code to order. We sat outside and did the latter option. I ordered a regular sized Dagwood. It's your choice of turkey or ham, bacon, fresh mozzarella, shredded lettuce, tomato, basil pesto, garlic aioli, & house vinaigrette on a sesame roll. I chose turkey with no garlic aioli. The online menu made it super easy to choose and/or remove ingredients. We also ordered a large order of curly fries to share too. The food came out in about 10ish minutes after ordering and an employee delivered it straight to our table. The sandwich was really good. I love pesto so it's hard to go wrong with that. My only critique was the sesame roll was a little too hard to bite for my taste. Whenever I bit into it, my sandwich kept falling apart from the other end. The true star of the meal were the curly fries. They tasted similar to the ones at Arby's. Parking was super easy to find in this area. There was an open lot not too far from Eastcut so we parked there and walked over. Overall, great place for a quick bite!
