I've always liked the food at Guthrie's. They have super delicious crispy chicken tenders, crinkle cut fries and their unbeatable Guthrie's signature sauce. I stopped by here this weekend before the Strawberry Festival and ordered the Snack. The Snack consists of three golden chicken tenders, fries, and a cup of their amazing signature sauce. Everything was cooked perfectly, and The Snack was the perfect portion size for me. The restaurant itself is super clean and inviting. The staff was also super friendly. I can't wait to come back here whenever I'm in Cullman! read more

Absolutely amazing food was awesome definitely golden fried. They definitely keep up to their slogan.Very delicious sauce tasted exactly like Zaxbys sauce.The fries were absolutely phenomenal the fries were absolutely phenomenal. one of the booths there was a whole piece of it just completely ripped out and there was a random water pitcher sitting on one of the booths But other than that, very well kept and clean restaurant. Not the best stop on my road trip through the south by a dang sight. Am a huge chicken fingers guy, I was told to go to Slim Chickens but this place was right along my route and they had tenders. Mistake number one. The tenders weren't a problem, they're fine if you're starving. I doubt that's what hit me an hour later and sent me to the john in my RV for a long stretch, more likely the cole slaw that gave me the runs, the fries didn't have any crazy seasoning on them, but they could have used some, the toast was...toast. Lesson learned, always listen to the locals... read more

Tried Guthrie's for the first time yesterday, ordering through the drive through. Ordered a box meal that came with 5 tenders, fries, coleslaw & Texas Toast. Paid $9.47 and was on my way. Was hungry so I ended up eating the meal in the parking lot. The coleslaw was meh. Wouldn't order it as a side dish it was just ok. Didn't care about the Texas Toast but my dogs liked it, so I guess that's something. The fries were lacking any seasoning and were cold. The tenders were just ok. Nothing great. Nothing to write home about. I prefer the tenders at Slim Chickens much more. The BBQ sauce at Guthrie's was also just ok. Could have gotten an extra star if seasoning were on the fries and if they were remotely hot or even warm. Will not go back, I will stick to Slim Chickens. Very sorry I strayed :( read more

Top of the most wanted list of the American Heart Association! Chicken Fingers fried to a perfect golden brown and served on a bed of french fries - both covered with plenty of salt. Not necessarily fresh if you don't arrive during peak times, but the service is friendly and super fast. Wings are a new addition to the menu. The buffalo sauce wasn't spicy enough for me and I would have preferred them cooked a little longer. The lunch special included a free drink, so you can eat here for $5 and be pretty happy until you realize how many calories you just consumed! read more

Guthrie's 704 2nd Ave. NW 3 Stars Guthries is a regional fast food establishment that focuses on chicken. A main distinguisher for Guthries is its unique chicken sauce. Given its limited menu one would expect somewhat consistent quality but Guthries seems to lack this. On this particular day I went through the drive thru and ordered a box meal with extra toast instead of coleslaw. Upon opening the box discovered that I was given coleslaw instead of the extra bread I had asked for. Some days the establishment can produce greasier food than other days and this is a main factor in its loss of stars. I commend the restaurant for keeping its dining room closed during the pandemic, but do wish the drive thru moved a little faster. I also appreciate the amount of sauce given with each box, and the amount of napkins provided. Overall I enjoy the chicken and sauce, I will be back but I feel as though some improvements could be made. read more

I don't usually eat here but my daughter begged to go. I had the box. The toast was hot and crunchy, the chicken was cooked perfectly, and the fries were hot - although a little over salted. Guthries is another franchise that began in sweet home Alabama. They are a little difficult to find since they are sparsely located but worth the stop if you pass by. I was a little disappointed when they closed the location in Gardendale and super excited when I found out there was one in Cullman. They only sell chicken fingers so don't go expecting a lot of choices.Their chicken fingers have a light crust with wonderful spices. (Although you may experience the "crap my crust is falling off" issue.) And any place that also offers a grilled version of chicken fingers gets two thumbs up from this gal. The chicken finger plate comes with 4 fingers, toast, fries, sauce, and slaw. The fries, crinkle cut and a little crunchy, are super salty which is a negative for some but I think potatoes need plenty of salt. The cole slaw is a PERFECT combination of mayo and vinegar. The cabbage and vegetables are finely chopped and the slaw isn't too runny. It is $0.49 for a small cup. The sauce is original, creamy, and has a little kick. The sweet tea is pretty good too. BUT my absolute favorite item is the Grilled Chicken Pita. It is a soft, chewy, perfectly toasted pita folded around grilled chicken tenders, loads of melted cheddar cheese, and lettuce with your choice of sauce on the side. The service at this location was a little slow considering there was only one other group of people inside and a couple of cars in the drive thru, but our food did taste freshly prepared and the staff was nice. They are never in a hurry to wait on the customers. They are very slow even when you're the only customer in the restaurant and no one in the drive-thru. The food is good, and the dining area is usually clean, but waiting on them to get off of their cell phones to wait on you is ridiculous! read more

This is the only Guthrie's I will eat at. You can tell their food taste clean and it doesn't taste like it was cooked in last weeks cooking oil. Well where do I start? First, we come in and there's four teenagers all hanging out and laughing up front. Two are the supposed cooks. One of the cooks is wearing basketball shorts and an Alabama t-shirt. Obviously there is no dress code or uniform here. Service was entirely unprofessional. By far my favorite chicken place and the Guthrie's sauce is awesome! The menu is simple which makes it so easy to order. We always get the classic box (no slaw extra toast) and extra Guthrie's sauce! I consider it somewhat rare to find a Guthrie's, so this is one of my favorite things about Cullman. That's the best way to describe the food . . . except for the coleslaw, which was even despised by the workers at Guthries who explained that most people "just got extra fries instead of coleslaw!"
