    Lamb Vindaloo to go
    Elizabeth G.

If you like Indian food this is a a very popular favorite in the area. Everything I've had is bursting with flavor. The fried cheese appetizer is unique but, it is cheese so perhaps one of the only things that won't blow up your tastebuds. The family that runs it is very organized, on point and clean. I ordered the vibdaloo curry with max spice that I wish I had done 4 or 5 rather then six, it was slightly overwhelming but, generally I like to be overwhelmed. Be careful. Little expensive. A dinner meal generally cost around $20 but, a nice change in flavor pallet occasionally.

When u drive by the outside looks kinda plain in a strip mall. But the food and service are exceptional. We meet up with friends here and got several things and just shared. Loved it all. Owners were helpful with suggestions and trying so hard to make sure we were pleased. I didnt take any pics but we ordered and ate alot.

We tried Guru India for a work party. There were 7 of us. When we walked in they didn't seem too excited that we were there even though we called ahead. This was my first time trying Indian food so I can't compare this place to any others. I really fell in love with the Naan. Small, quaint restaurant. Prices were decent.

    Chicken lunch special #3

Food 10/10, service 10/10, ambiance 10/10. I've been to many Indian cuisine restaurants in San Diego, California and NONE of them compare to how good this establishment is. Food was so good huge portions for an amazing price. Our server was amazing and super nice. The establishment had beautiful decor, super clean, and had a homie feel to it. I will be coming back again and again and again and will be bringing back friends and family.

I was in the mood for Indian food so I tried Guru again and it was delicious. I ordered the Aloo Mater peas and potatoes in a curry sauce. A side of naan bread completed the meal. My friend got the lunch special chicken curry and chicken tikka with naan rice salad and a samosa. The atmosphere is a little dull. Needs some vibrant colors. If you have a craving stop by

This was my first time eating here my boyfriend had eaten here in the past he said they used to have a buffet that was really good before covid I do like my a little spicy Indian food my boyfriend purchased a platter and shrimp and lamb Curry I had purchased a nan cheese bread with a medium chicken curry and we both shared a white rice it was really good the bread wasn't as cheesy as I thought it was going to be but the platter that we had gotten with the potatoes and the cheese Cube was really good my boyfriend doesn't like spice at all really I tried his food it wasn't that bad I wasn't a big fan of the sauce but the meat that came with it was really tender my chicken curry was also really good for it being medium it had just a little bit of a kick which was enough for me the owner was very nice he checked on us many times I believe his name was bobu he introduced himself and shook our hands very professional nice clean establishment you're in the area they're worth checking out.

$42 for essentially one meal. No thanks.

I can't recommend this place. The food is overpriced and very mediocre. I've had Indian food in a several other cities and states and they all blow this place out of the water. I had the Chicken Tandoori and Mixed Vegetables. My dishes came out quick, too quick. My dishes were warm but not hot, the chicken was dry, and the vegetables lacked the rich complex flavor I've had at other places. The curry was very bland. It was as if they had a bunch of these dishes already prepared and sitting back in the kitchen, drying out. The portions were not big either, especially for the price. My bill came out to $42 for what was essentially one mediocre meal with very little leftovers. The service was also impersonable. I don't get why there are so many 4 and 5 stars. You guys really don't know what good Indian food is.

I went here last night with my husband, Mom and aunt. This was the first time that my aunt had ever eaten Indian food and she loved it! My husband and I have eaten here a few times here before and we enjoy it every single time that we come in and eat. I will be back here a few more times definitely with my husband to eat. I mentioned to my husband last night that I've been having a yen to eat some Indian food -- especially some well done Indian food and I wanted to come here to eat it, so we did eat there last night! My mom even enjoyed her meal as well -- particularly the Kashmiri naan that I ordered for her to eat with her meal. My favorite meal to get here is the saag with either shrimp, tofu or cheese in it, with a spice level of two, normally. If somebody has never eaten Indian food before, I would recommend eating here and getting the saag, with the tofu or cheese in it, with a spice level of two, because it's neither "too hot" or "too mild" -- it's very much "the middle of the road" for folks. Also try the samosa -- in beef or Vegetable, because they're pretty tasty too.

Guru India continues to be our favourite Indian Restaurant in the Cincinnati Tri-state area. Their restaurant is a little smaller than the last time we were here and their grocery section was gone which was unfortunate. Still the food was as good as ever as we started with our favourite Indian appetizer; the Paneer Pakora. It's a take on like fried cheese with some Indian flavour. It's amazing in every way and I can't recommend it highly enough. For my main course I got my Guru India go-to; the Lamb Vindaloo with max heat. Vindaloo is a tomato based sauce packed with flavour and since I ordered max heat there was plenty of heat. On the side I get an order of Naan to sop up those delicious sauces. The lamb is perfect, the sauce is perfect, the potatoes that are in the dish were perfect; it's just my perfect Indian dish. Their service was solid as always and it rounded out another great visit to Guru India.

How about now? Has the buffet reopened? Thanks!

I asked a couple of months ago and they said they just did not have enough labor to reopen the buffet.

    Has the buffet reopened?

Went to Guru India last evening for dinner and asked if buffet has reopened and was told no. Cannot open due to staffing shortages. But planning to do so once staffing is resolved.…

Do they have a kids menu?

It was far away from me in Fairfield, so it took me far too long to try it (Doordash or bust). Omg it is soooo gooooddd!!! Is it Americanized? Probably but I don't know? I always assumed that I like the most Americanized Indian food, because I like sweet flavors and can't eat spicy food. Whatever is going on here, the flavors are just spot on for me in ways that other places around here have not been. Tikka masala fries are a favorite food. Geez I hope I can find something like this back in Cali. If I was eating there I would ask for double grated paneer. Bhindi masala is some of the best I've ever had - it's light and not too tomatoey and lets the okra shine through. Okra is not overcooked. Sooo tasty. I tried cholay (aloo) for the first time here and I love it. The mango chutney has the right flavor for me, super sweet. Mango lassi is really thick and not too sweet. Kheer was really good and also not too sweet. I wish they would have had gajar ka halwa on the menu because I bet it would be amazing. I have pretty basic picks because I'm pretty basic about Indian food. But I think everything here on the menu must be amazing. Don't be afraid to try anything!! One of my few regrets leaving this area is not trying Jot sooner so I could get experimental with their menu. So if you're reading this, do it in my honor please!

They greeted me upon walking in and took my order. I sat in the waiting area. No one else was there besides a couple that arrived a few minutes after me that was dining in. It only took about 10-15 minutes for my order. I got the Lamb Saag at a level 2 and Chicken Tikka Masala at Level 3, plus both garlic and paneer naan. I enjoy spicy food, but opted for the low end because this was a new place for me and I was going off of the reviews I saw. The lamb had nice flavor but wasn't spicy at all. I would prefer a 3-4. I let my mother have the rest because she was very fond of it even though she's not as open to different cultures cuisines as I am. I preferred the chicken. Very tasty to me. Again, level 3 did have a bit more spice but I would go even higher next time. Both types of naan were great. I would have liked if the paneer naan had more cheese though. When I'm in the mood for Indian and in the area again as I often am, I'd surely go back.
