I love Gung Ho - it has been my favorite Chinese restaurant in town since I was a kid! Every time I come the food is consistently delicious. Huge portions, affordable prices, and good quality. They have one of my favorite fried rices and lo mein. I also like ordering from them vs other places in town because they have an online ordering system which I like. Their lunch specials are great. I got 3 sushi rolls today for $15 and they are STUFFED full. Bigger than your average sushi roll.

The 3.5 stars that Gung Ho has averaged on Yelp is pretty well on-point. I ate here for the first time, dining in, and we ordered sushi. Aside from how excited I was to finally dine out during the pandemic, the restaurant instantly felt nostalgic and I loved looking out the window as we enjoyed a Scorpion Bowl and sushi together. I regret not taking photos then, as we really enjoyed our meal. The service was as expected. I thought to try their Chinese menu for takeout, and was very disappointed. The dumplings, while obviously made in-house, had wrappers that were loose around the meat of the dumpling, and they were VERY greasy. The General Tso's Chicken was so bland, it was barely edible. My boyfriend got the Tangerine Beef which, surprisingly, wasn't too bad. We look forward to going back for sushi, but I unfortunately cannot recommend Gung Ho for Chinese takeout.

    Take out to the extreme!

Got dinner from here tonight and it was delicious. The crab Rangoon were on point! 8 for only $5.55? Can't beat that. The sweet sauce that came with them was delicious as well. I got the lo mein, which was pretty standard, but the pork fried rice that comes with their meals is amazing. I don't know what kind of spices and flavoring they used on it, but it's delish. The egg roll was pretty good too, and if you like spicy mustard, eat theirs. I cried and my nose burned. :)

As I slid into the seat it felt a little rough. Noticed that the smooth cushion that's expected was actually well worn and cracked making it a little uncomfortable. I did notice some other booths were the same so they really should invest in renovating the seat cushions. S far as getting served and the food: service was very quick. Soup and salad came out right away. Appetizers were quick and the entrees were cooked and served quick. So that part was great. Salas had a little more dressing than I expected compared from similar places. But it was good, as was the soup. Surprised they served the soup with a metal utensil, normally the Asian places use a wooden spoon. The Ichiban roll was delicious. A little pricey for a roll though. We had the Hibachi combination dinners. One steak with shrimp and the other steak with scallops. Tasty dishes, but the scallops could have used s as touch more searing and seasoning.

We had the won ton soup which tasted like a can of beef consommé with some hard tiny dumplings floating in it. The Szechuan chicken lunch was practically inedible. It was a mound of gooey onion and pepper slices in a glue-like sauce. The fried rice tasted like yesterday's leftovers and the spring roll had no flavor. The other dish we ordered was the sesame shrimp which did have nice sized shrimp and large pieces of broccoli. That seemed to be more flavorful. Our server was very sweet and accommodating but unfortunately, we won't return.

Boba station: Lots of topping and flavor options. $7.50 with boba and $5.50 without boba. One size. I got the passionfruit green tea with crystal boba, it was okay! Not a strong tea flavor but it was not bad. The other food looks good, would wanna come back and try!

I typically get Glastonbury Chicken (delicious) or chicken pad thai (classic), but I went for the Gai Gra Pow this time. It was stellar! I haven't been around to this restaurant in a while, and I forgot just how many options there were. Sushi, thai food, so so many classics. I'm already excited to return. This restaurant has my favorite crab rangoons of all time--absolutely delicious recipe, I absolutely recommend that as an appetizer. I have had so many grab rangoons over the years. These take the cake by a mile. The building itself is in a lot with some other local businesses and restaurants so usually there's plenty of parking. The parking lot does get crowded some nights, but it was nice and easy to find a spot when I went! They have a designated parking spot for takeout orders as well--and their takeout is great!

We were treating my sister to dinner and Thai Riverside was her pick. The menu had the usual traditional Thai dishes; noodle, curry, stir, and house specials. I like that the menu wasn't overwhelming either. We started with Thai Iced Teas that were creamy, strong flavor, and not too sugary. We got the Vegetable filled Thai Curry Puffs that were served with a tangy, bright cucumber sauce. These were delicious, the crust buttery and flaky. I ordered the Green Curry with Tofu which I absolutely loved. It had a spicy kick, the veggies were fresh, and the tofu had crispy edges. Curry is my usual go-to. My sister got the Broccoli Oyster Sauce with Chicken and my husband got the Pho Noodle Soup. They both enjoyed their meals. The potion sizes were generous too that we packed half of it for later. There aren't many other Thai food options in the area so Thai Riverside is a delicious choice. If you are not familiar with Chester Center, there are designated public parking lots everywhere, but since Thai Riverside resides in the Water Street building (backside) there is a parking lot for those businesses only. We would definitely come to Thai Riverside again whether it be dining in or getting take out. One thing for sure, I'll be grabbing another Thai Iced Tea.
