A firearms collectors paradise! Great selection of firearms, memorabilia, ammunition, accessories and historical items. Owners overall knowledge is amazing. His 48 plus years of experience is obvious when discussing firearms and history. The pricing of firearms and ammunition is a great value compared to other stores. He stocks items not found in the big box stores or many dealers. When you walk in you will be amazed at his level of inventory; more guns on display than most stores not to mention back stock. He's willing to order items not presently in stock in only a few days. This store is an asset to the community and gun/ history enthusiasts alike. Do yourself a favor and visit this store. This place is very overpriced and the customer service is absolutely horrible. went in there one day and looked at bayonets. I wanted to do some research on one and came back the next to pick it up and then they told me was no longer for sale even though it was still marked and in the case! I had my son with me and their German Shepherd kept barking and charging him! He had to use a shock collar and force to tie him up!! Items are way over priced. Even compared to other small volume gun dealers. This guys prices are pretty much ridiculous across the board.

Very over priced. Go somewhere else. Used guns prices easily $200 over what the market value is. The guy at the counter said he had never heard of Vortex optics. Said his supplier didn't sell them(I find that hard to believe as they are everywhere). If your looking for a place with knowledge on the history of guns maybe this is the place but for purchasing a gun or knowledge on guns of today not the place. And as I said everything is over priced and employees have no experience/knowledge of what people are purchasing today. Look at prices online before you decide to buy here. I checked a used gun they were selling for the same price as MSRP from the manufacture brand new. Seems like they are trying to screw customers over. read more

Been to Vances and LEPD and this place beats them both for service and price salesperson was very helpful and knowledgeable.

FYI if you're trying to stock up for this corona - only one guy that worked the register. There's a lady but she doesn't do anything. Old guy is super nice and tries his very hardest to go as fast as he can. Place is vintage looking. It has a lot of old stuff from the wars and lots and lots of guns. Jim's old school which isn't a bad thing. Good selection and good service. One review complains about his mil surplus stuff and some of it being nazi... it's part of the hobby. You're being a snowflake. One review says he knowingly sells to felons, that's not true and anyone who's an adult knows better than that. Hes been in business for ever and why would he ruin his well being for a felon. That's a lie. You fail a back ground check, you dont walk out with a firearm. I try to give most places the benefit of the doubt especially smal owner operated establishments but after my 8th or so visit to this gun store I felt I had to post a review. The shelves are only abot 20% stocked and that is not related to the current spike in gun sales, the shelves are usually sp. se and heavily stocked with used 1970s revolvers and such. I've never seen anything approaching customer service here either. I've gone in with cash planning to buy a gun they have in stock twice now (knowing it was cheaper other places but looking to "buy local") and both times left to buy it elsewhere in town after having bad interactions with the owner. The owner decided to dramatically increase prices during the pandemic and state of emergency. I dont mean a slight increase, complete price gouging, ex. Hand gun ammo $55 for 50 rounds, no matter the brand or caliber. This is wrong on so many levels. Boycott. read more

Although a cool looking place with lots of interesting items and good selection of guns, the place has an old musty smell and the owner is not very helpful or friendly. As novice gun purchasers he didn't offer much advice nor did he seem interested in the sale- might've been my hubby's foreign accent. Who knows- but I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

I have been shopping in this store for years. I have purchased 6 Glocks, 3 S&Ws, tons of ammo, and misc other items. I have not had a bad experience ever. If I need something he has, then he is glad to show it and his knowledge is excellent. If his price is higher than another store that I have seen item at he makes the deal right. Gun World is a old time Ma and Pa gun store and is owned and operated by an older, small town, country guy. If you look like a gangster when you go in he may be nervous by your appearance. If you go in and do not say "Hi" he may think you do not want to be talked to. Overall, I would say that if you are looking for a fair deal and would like knowledgeable personal service, then this guy is a good choice. If you want someone to kiss your but and put up with gang banger appearance and behavior, then you (And he) may wish you went to the local pawn shop. I signed up just to write this review! Don't go here! I was in there for 5 min and finally had to ask to be helped although I was the only person in there. The man who "helped" me acted like I was bothering him. They were trying to sell a box of 100 .22 shorts for $30. When I said was surprised at the price and thought I had paid around $8 elsewhere in the past he snorted and said "maybe 20 years ago" and walked away. I am not a gun expert or a regular gun shopper, but I have a few Glocks and casually shhot at the range and I have been to other gun shops such as Rural King and Vances. How this guy stays in business I don't know. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time visiting this place. He doesn't know the meaning of customer service . Hell he won't even say hello to you if you walk up to the desk and ask to see a gun. He will sit in a chair and waste your time and his time by ignoring you and acting like you are bothering him by walking into his store. His inventory sucks and his prices are way too high. Why would anyone go into his store ? I guess if you like paying way too much for a gun he most likely will not have and like the owner to look at you like you are a piece of crap then by all means walk in and enjoy the most f'd up gun store in America. Hand over your hard earned cash to someone who will laugh at you behind your back for being stupid enough to walk into his store and pay way too much for a gun you could have bought somewhere else alot cheaper. I went here the other day because he was the only place in town with 9mm ammo. He told me a box of 100 rounds was $69.95. I knew this price was ridiculous but considering the current circumstance I headed over anyway. When I got there the box was $79.95 and when I asked about this he said I must have misunderstood him...which I didn't because I asked twice. I recently bought a Glock 23 40cal online for $569otd, his was priced at $699. He then showed me a small pocket pistol priced at $439 when the most I've seen it other places was $349. He was a "nice" enough guy but I will never go there again. read more

Jim has always been helpful. It's a gun shop, not Nordstrom's... If you have a lot of questions about guns, take some classes and know what you want before going in. I was in and out in less than 10mins for my last 2 gun purchases which is a lot better than getting a ticket, waiting for my number to be called, online background check and walking out 45mins later to me. Went to buy some ammo, and OUCH!!!!!! Now, I know that recently ammo has become limited and expensive, but his guy tried to charge me $50 for some Winchester 40 cal. FMJ. That's about $15 higher than the current average. My opinion is to stay away. read more
