I was under their care initially for about a week and continued with them for follow-up care. It has been a comforting and satisfactory experience with my overall recuperation. After my boyfriend had his eye exam done here, I decided it was time for some new contacts and glasses so I set up an appointment. They were able to get me in within two weeks and at a time that worked for me. To speed up the process they also gave me the paperwork when scheduling my appointment and told me I could just bring it with when I came back. Efficiency. Everyone that I interacted with was friendly and cheerful. I even appreciated that the doctor didn't try to confuse me in any way and actually set straight a lot of misinformation I was given by my previous doctor/salesperson. You know the best part... the glaucoma machine. You know the machine that blows air into your eyes to test the pressure? At the previous optometrist, I'd always "fail" the test and then I'd have to go through the process of having my eyes dilated which always sucks because driving after is the worst. FBOC's glaucoma machine was actually able to give a real reading because it was a quick push of air instead of the long shot of air that was always forced my eyes to shut. No dilation, YAY! Pretty smooth process and from start to finish was maybe an hour of my time. The staff is great. And I felt like they really went the extra mile with everything... the doctor even decided it was best to do a follow up appointment since there was some uncertainty with my contacts. I paid out of pocket and felt that the price for a contact and glasses prescription was reasonable at $129 (and that included the trial pair of contact lenses).

These practices can include false advertising, misrepresentation, and price gouging. A couple of examples include the additional fee for retinal imaging. When I visited almost a year ago this was not mentioned, not once. And yes there was a piece of paper on the wall stating that policy, however it was covered up with other items. I believe the cost was ~$35.00 or so. I refused to pay it simply because I did not give my consent and I was not told about it. However, my wife, my daughter and my son's did, unbeknownst to me (again a year ago). Today, my wife visited the office again, this time there was a text prior to the appointment detailing the fee, however, it states "additional fee" no amount specified. Too bad I can't attach a photo. In addition, the staff was extremely rude to her, and stated one price, then charged another. Upon asking for a refund, she was told that they were unable to give her one because the "manager" was not there to approve it. I'm so disappointed, I'm personally not going to visit this office again and neither are 4 other of his customers, last time. Too bad, if the Optometrist relied on his service alone he'd have a great reputation, however, the price gouging and the fact that the staff can't get their act together on pricing, lying to his customers, yes customers, not patients. Tasks that could likely be handled by one person are split between multiple staff members, creating unnecessary delays. I understand this is the only retina specialty practice in the area, and that may explain the large patient volume. However, there is considerable room for improvement in scheduling and patient flow to provide a better experience for patients. While some staff members were courteous, the long wait times and inefficient process overshadowed the overall experience.
