Arrived today just after 5pm. I had my other half and 7 year old son help me carry in 8 guitars to sell and one guitar to have repaired. We waited until 6:15pm while two staff took care of other customers, some that were there before us and some that arrived after us. We patiently waited while they kept going about helping others knowing it would take them a bit to inspect the guitars and give us the offers ( this isn't our first rodeo). When it was finally our turn we were informed that they won't take any guitars for sale after 6pm. It was now 6:15 and we had been waiting almost an hour. I told him we had been waiting since way before 6pm for them to help us. He refused to do anything and told us to come back tomorrow morning. Both staff witnessed us carrying in all of the guitars. They saw us standing next to the pile of guitars near the register the entire time they were dealing with other people and hiding in the back room. Not once did anyone say anything about not being willing to help us that day. The employees lack of professionalism, and the lack of customer service I witnessed today with us and the others who stood around waiting while they kept disappearing into the back of the store for no apparent reason was beyond frustrating. This is the second Guitar Center I have been disappointed with as of late and tomorrow I will headed to Falcetti Music. What a disappointment yet again!! read more

If only no stars was an option.. I purchased a preamp the other day on the used section of the GC website. Two days later i get an email from the manager Kathryn Rodriguez saying howdy, the picture on the listing was wrong.. and basically that I would not be getting what I had already bought. They made a mistake but instead of them making it right I missed out on a great deal, which I spent quite a while searching the website trying to find.. Order cancelled.. no apology whatsoever.. The time it took to let me know bothers me as much if not more than the mistake on their part and lack of any sort of apology for said mistake. I hope they can get it together with their used listings so that this type of thing doesn't happen to others. I already own a tube MP but I don't have an MPA (like the one pictured that I paid for) in my studio racks. Preamps are like pedals or mics.. some are cheap and some are expensive but I love and collect a bit of everything. I buy gear all the time and have given guitar center a good amount of money throughout my 20 years of playing and producing music. Won't be dealing with them ever again. Well it is off official I have changed music stores! This place is fantastic which is why, I'm sure they have so many locations and unbeatable prices. You can tell they either train well or the personnel dept. is genius because everyone was so cool and really really helpful & friendly. The prices are GREAT! When you walk into The Guitar Center it is not simply to purchase an item. It's an adventure. I mistakenly (quite recently)tried an obsolete "mom and pop" type place to purchase an instrument. They were very expensive and had one brand. The guitar shop had so many choices it was fantastic. The place was so inviting that if I weren't in such a hurry I would wanna hang out a bit. Id like to thank Frank the manager for all of his time and help. I'd also like to thank Adam and I can't wait to order that harp microphone. See you all soon! read more

Terrible customer service! I came in yesterday to the West Springfield location to purchase guitar strings for a small acoustic guitar. I brought all of the hardware for my guitar along with the stringless body, to seek the opinion of the professionals, who work here. I was greeted by one person behind the counter, who asked me if I needed help. I told him I was looking to purchase guitar strings. He told me that there were others ahead of me. I looked to my right and a couple were standing far away from the counter, likely taking COVID precautions. This man totally dismissed my inquiry. I proceeded to the string section, where one of the two young salesmen behind the counter followed me. I opened my case to show him what I had. He originally was suggesting nylon strings until I tried explaining that my guitar's hardware was that of a regular acoustic guitar (pegs on the side) and not a classical. I decided on my own to purchase medium and light strings made by Martin because I wasn't convinced that anyone there could properly advise me. When I arrived home I realized that I must have left my bag of hardware at the counter. I called and someone said they would put my bag aside for me and asked for my first and last name. This morning I drove there around 10:00, not realizing that the hours had been changed. I called to see if I could pick up my bag. Whoever I spoke with told me that the store didn't open until 11 and no, he couldn't just hand me my bag because they were busy doing other things. It was so incredibly rude and dismissive. I waited outside the store for another half an hour for them to try to find the bag in question. I decided to drive back home instead of wait outside the store. I returned an hour later and the salesperson who sold me the strings yesterday was able to locate my bag and return it to me. He was much more polite and wished me a good day. Overall, I felt the customer service was well below anyone's standard. Although I purchased a guitar here a few years ago, I will avoid the frustration of going here again and being treated as though I was at the bottom of anyone's list of priorities. read more

First off lying is a very bad habit to practice and if that's what you guys practice then It's very important that I share this situation with you and the community. I encourage every consumer that is planning to purchase anything online from this company to make sure your given specific information related to shipping, processing and delay issues and curbside pick up issues. I was lied to by a particular store that told me that after I place my order online to call them back after a half hour that they would have my order ready for curbside pick up. I was never given a warning (which they failed miserably to share with this writer) that there were going to be delays related to order availability and processing delays. That is not what I was told. Secondly, having spoken on several occasions to store employees that had no idea what was happening on their end when it came to orders, an individual employee left me on hold for roughly 10-20 minutes then he came back and noted that he was not going to be able to walk me through the process of purchase due to computer system not working. lie number two. I later found out that they were working. I was then sent an email by the store manager that noted that they were sorry for the inconvenience yet I still never got my product after paying the item and no resolution. I then called this companies free telephone number had to wait 30 minutes and was hung up twice and then had to wait yet again for 20 minutes for a simple response. I then called again and waited 15 more minutes and finally I was connected to a different sales representative and once I reiterated the situation at hand he also was not able to help me either instead he opted out by saying that he needed to answer another phone call and noted that he would have to send an email to connect me to a supervisor but I would have to still wait a day for a response. Then, when I asked to cancel my order due to the misinformation and verbal confusion Guitar Center put me through and created, I was told that I would have to wait 3-5 business days to get my money returned to my account. So...no resolution, I never got my product that I paid for, they took my money, No customer satisfaction, unprofessionally treated, misinformed and employees seemed they were confused themselves as to the current situation the company has acted upon. This is what happens when your employees are not properly trained to make sure their sharing accurate, clear and concise information so that issues such as these could be prevented. I paid for an item I was promised to get and never did. At this time I would encourage Guitar Center administrative offices to review this written grievance and I hope their able to share this story amongst each other because I am sharing this review for all to review. I was frustrated by this kind of customer service. I will never shop here again. I will write my review on all online outlets to educate other consumers never to allow this company to treat you the way they did to me. read more
