Very specialized shop for the musician in your life! This location has employees that really love what they do and are friendly no matter if you're there for yourself or shopping for someone else. Huge selection of guitars, both new and used. They also offer decent selection of drum equipment, mics, keyboards, and all of the cables / amps / boards / speakers for your sound to go through. They offer guitar lessons as well. read more

Couldn't be more grateful for the help I received this past Wednesday, specifically from the guitar tech Bruce. I brought it in the morning to get a diagnosis/setup and by the end of the day I was happily playing. Feels completely different for the better. For great and timely service, I totally recommend taking your guitar to Bruce. read more

So previously I had a bad experience with another guitar center. I realize that each one has nothing to do with the other and I guess independently owned. I purchased an out of box electric bass. Long story short, it was a shambles when I finally got it. Anyway, I ordered a used Taylor acoustic guitar from the Ogden Utah store with my fingers crossed. Well..... 1. The packaging was perfect as if it came straight from the factory. 2. The guitar was made in 2020, but I cannot find one single blemish on the entire guitar. It would be impossible to tell whether this was brand new or not. It also came with a new strings and a nice gig bag. 3. Plays like a dream. So kudos to the staff at the Ogden Utah store. I'm completely impressed. read more

Once again staff at this store are always amazing Went in for a couple of items and they went out of their way to work with me getting the items that I needed Great service Great job by all Shop here for ALL your music needs read more

Steve, Stevie, or Steve-o, who I believe is the manager, was extremely rude. He was very unprofessional and said he would laugh if the card being used was declined among other degrading things. I would rather go to the taylorsville store than deal with him. Troy, on the other hand, was extremely helpful as he always is. Why is Troy not the manager? He knows his stuff. read more

For a national chain that carries Fender guitars, it's a good and reliable store. If you need it, they have it or can order it. I've found the employees to be friendly and easy to talk to, plus very helpful. read more

Great service, Adam helped us get my son his first guitar. He showed us how to tune the guitar and got us all set up. Thanks for all your help! read more

I dig this store and somehow I forgot about reviewing it prior, but it feels comfy, like a well-worn music store. It's a smaller store, so selection is not always great, but staff is unfailingly excellent and it is always worth a look because this place, like all Guitar Centers, seems to come up with some hidden gems. I've found a lot of things that were of interest, but nothing that spoke to me, but still very enjoyable visits and well worth the time. The things I've mainly gotten here have been strings and cables, but mostly that's because I don't live in the area. Around Ogden, this is by far my favorite instrument spot and if I lived closer, probably would be having more stuff go through. Like all Guitar Centers, this is definitely worth a look. read more

Had a good experience we were looking for a particular Schecter bass and called as we live in Orem. We talked to Chris who was very friendly on the phone and told us he would locate the bass and offered to hold it for us. We came in and Chris had the bass ready to go I was happy to received great customer service! read more

Always great customer service. Fast, answers questions, good suggestions. I always like coming here- only thing I wish is that they would stock more analog synthesizers and maybe modular synths. read more

Most of the staff at the Riverdale store are pretty good to work with, however, there is one named Alex, who I think is a manager. She is very rude. I get the impression that she hates her job and dislikes dealing with customers. read more

Great for all your music needs. I enjoy hearing the sounds (in person) of different guitars. The only downside is all the good ones are locked up on the wall, and support is not always the quickest to assist. read more

Took my guitar in for a set up and to look into some fret buzz. Everything electronic worked just fine. Went to pick it up and the dude dropped it!!! It seemed okay but when I got home the bridge pickups were not working properly. Called and took it back. The tech said he had tested it and everything was working when he finished. So obviously the drop did something. Was told it was the switch and that another 5 way switch couldn't be put in it. But a 3 way could. Turns out it just needs an ibanez switch. Thats why his 5 way switch wouldn't work. I said a 3 way switch would be okay with the plan of taking it elsewhere but being able to play in the meantime. I get a call saying my guitar is ready. I get there about 10 minutes later and the guy is still working on it. I waited the next 1.5 hours for him to finish! He was struggling and tried to have me leave it again! He said he wouldn't be back for a few days! Seriously!! I told him to just give me the guitar and he insisted on working on it more. He finally got the 3 way switch to work. Well I just installed the needed ibanez switch and the bridge pickups again aren't working. Everything worked just fucking fine before taking to them so that they could drop it! I now obviously don't trust them to fix it and am going to have to spend more money on it.*Update* Had to spend $180 to fix the guitar. They refunded me but are otherwise being difficult about providing compensation for it. I've had to escalate past the store. read more

I am a happy customer. After receiving a not amazing delivery from online, this store far succeeded my expectations. Adam not only apologized for the mishap he found me a better acoustic guitar than the one I originally bought. I wasn't sure what to expect bringing my item to the store after buying online but they did amazing and made sure to make my purchase right. I appreciate it! read more

I called earlier in the week to see if they had a needed part on hand. I was told that it was in stock. I drove 30 miles (yesterday 6/29) to the store to pick up the item. I was greeted when I entered the store(that's what the one star is for). I told them I needed the parts department and was directed to a small counter in a corner. No one was there but the person who greeted me said they would get someone soon. After waiting over 5 minutes for help of any kind I asked the person at the cash register to see if they could get me some help. He said that he would go get the person immediately. After several minutes he returned to the register and paged someone over the P.A. system. Several more minutes and I had enough. Walked out, will get what I need on Reverb without the 30 minute drive. read more

Turned away my business because I didn't have "exact change". Last time I checked you still had to accept cash. Guess my business isn't wanted enough. That's fine. There's other places that would gladly take my money for cheaper prices. read more

I recently bought a new guitar at the Riverdale Guitar Center and the service was phenomenal. I wanted to trade in my Classical Guitar for an Accoustic, but I couldn't make up my mind about what I wanted. On top of the fact that I was extremely indecisive about my purchase I had also two toddlers with me. Bree was incredibly patient and spend a lot of time demonstrating the different sounds of each guitar and not once did any of the sales personal act annoyed about my children. One could tell that almost all the people working there had a deep rooted love for music and a true passion for their product. Furthermore I brought a guitar into the store as a trade in that had no researchable background but they made a valiant effort and were fair and honest with me. In the end I can only say that I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. read more

I've had good luck with this location of Guitar Center. As mentioned in other reviews, the staff isn't overly attentive to any and every customer that comes through the door, but in many ways, I appreciate that I'm not immediately in the crosshairs of a sales associate who's bent on getting me to purchase something- anything, before I walk out the door. I enjoy the freedom to come in and browse without anyone watching over my shoulder and constantly trying to close a sale. It isn't like the staff is rude or standoffish, they just aren't your average sales team. They're very friendly and helpful when approached, and I've stopped in before just to get some second opinions about things in the past. They usually have somebody on site with some degree of experience or practical knowledge on what I'm inquiring about, and that's something I really appreciate. I appreciate even more that they are happy to provide their advice without attempting to sell me something in the process. This sales method might have lost them a few impulse buys from me, but it's earned my loyalty for most large music purchases I make. Just barely purchased my first bass hours ago from their used selection (Yes, there isn't a whole lot of selection at this location, but little of that can be blamed on the store itself) and I'm very excited about it. I've bought two guitars there, and I routinely purchase strings and cables through this store instead of waiting two days to get them on my Amazon Prime (And, if you can believe it, the strings I use are actually less pricey at Guitar Center as well). I look forward to doing more business with this store in the future, and I think they'll serve you well as long as you take their unique sales approach into consideration. read more

Horrible customer service. Walked into the store, six associates were around the desk and not one person said "hello" or anything to us. We were I. The store for almost an hour and not one associate cane over to me and asked if I needed help or anything. Plus, there was no one else in the store. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Never will I come here again. read more

I recently made a HUGE purchase at the Ogden Guitar Center. Nicholas was a huge help. I bought a complete DJ rig. Nicholas was hugely helpful and answered all of my questions and helped me get everything I needed to complete my setup. His knowledge was extensive and was able to make the right recommendations on the items I was not sure with. My system sounds AWESOME! I've made a ton of cash having an AWESOME time. When I arrived, store had very few customers. Employees standing around chatting among themselves. No offer to help for more than several minutes. Finally, an employee asked if he could help but acted put out. During entire experience, he displayed a superiority complex. Not good. I sensed that it was useless to continue and thanked him for his help. As I was walking out, and employee finally asked, in a friendly and professional manner, if I found what I was looking for (he appeared to be the manager). I answered yes because I found out I won't buy from this store. Buy online or go somewhere else. This has happened at this store before (I have shopped at other GC before without any issues, so it is this store, not the chain). So I suspect it is a training issue. read more

Thank you for your response. I'm settled down now. I was just mad because I had a heck of a time loading that all up and fighting traffic in less than desirable weather. I wrote the review pretty much right after I had just carried it all back in so I was grumpy. Like I said, I've had a hard time the last few years health-wise and I've been pretty down about it so I'm sure a lot of my negativity is stemming from the realization that I'm getting old and not going to be able to do half the things I used to. So I would like to say -- even if I did call and had her double check twice -- that everyone makes mistakes, and so I would like to sincerely apologize, and say I feel that I have overreacted. I was in pain and just plain tired from carrying it all back in and so I decided to try to vent at the wrong time, which led to me allowing my emotions to get out of hand and take over. I hope she doesn't get in any trouble, She seems like a good girl and I shouldn't have been so hard on her. We are all human and we all make mistakes, as I clearly demonstrated I'm just as capable of making them because here I am apologizing for one. I won't be taking any further action. I learned a good lesson too, and next time I will make sure I'm in a more cerebral state before I make a review and not emotional. Again, thanks again for at least responding. I will remove the bad review once I know you've read my apology. Thanks for your time. read more
