I would have recommended this place the last time I visited. But I I totally different bookstore by the employees. The employee at the front store was great and helped me at my friends. If the book table employed employees like the people at the front, I would recommend this place. The employee at the "candy part" of the store was so engrossed with talking with her family/friend that she didn't even recognize there was somebody there wanting to buy something? I only had it limited in the amount of time because I wanted to get something for someone and I only had a few minutes to get something and run it over to them. After about 510 minutes of the employee talking to their friends/family member they gave each other a hug and the ones that I hope things go better for you or something like that. The employee asked me if there was something that they could do and I said not anymore. the time was spent. I wanted something earlier. Plus, part of their store had mold in it. Could tell that water had fallen through and landed on the carpet. I could not even look at that section of the bookstore because of the mold. read more

The space is huge and cluttered with pockets of organization sprinkled throughout. The second floor is a disorganized mess that lead me to quickly leave locate the nearest escape. The main level is a jumble of books, toys, home decor, and even a candy counter. With the lower level housing various music spaces. This store absolutely has something for everyone but requires a significant amount of time to find anything. My 12 year old enjoyed the stop but I am in no hurry to visit again. read more

Went to the main street guitar store in the book table. Hard to find, turns out it was in the back of the store. I went there with intentions of seeing what my used Ibanez was worth so I might be able to trade it for another, when he told me that it was in such horrible condition that he couldn't trade it for another guitar. I thought surely he wouldn't sell me a shit guitar, because he wouldn't take in the guitar I just offered him. So clearly they don't sell used guitars in bad condition. So instead of trading for another, I just bought a used Epiphone sg special, and didn't bother checking it. (Because it didn't seem like he sold used guitars in bad condition). Went home, first thing I noticed is the horrible buzz because the action was so low, and the guitar literally wouldn't stay in tune. If you can't take in a guitar that's in bad condition, why fucking sell one. Haven't even plugged it in yet, can't wait to see what other problems it has. Wish he would have at least told me what condition it was in, before I spent all of the money I had. read more

If you have never been here before, you definitely need to visit. It's a trip. An experience. Somewhere between a voyage back in time, and a step into an alternate universe. But it's memorable, that's for sure. We were in town for no reason at all, except to discover things and see what we could do for the day. We were on our way to dinner after a hike and saw this storefront along the historic Main Street and we made a note to come back and see what was here. Parking was a breeze out front (but this was a weekday holiday in late afternoon) and we walked in. Immediately I knew we weren't in a bookstore. Oh, sure, there are books. But this reminded me of a bookstore in Michigan that was also in a small town. It's more like a five-and-dime, updated for the modern day. Like a small town drugstore of yore, which was a long ago precursor to the big boxes of today. Yes, they sell books, but it's only a portion of what they really offer. They're heavy on books. Heavy on toys. There's a music store inside here, too, with plenty of sheet music and music books. The basement is a guitar store--I'm not sure if it's independent of everything else or a part of it--but it stands alone down there. The space is massive; it's much bigger than you would imagine, even from the street. I can imagine this was quite the spot in the small town of Logan, before the big boxes showed up, before the strip malls started being built, before the chains came to town. This feels like a lot of square footage and though I'm not sure what the chronology and ownership of the space may have been, it's surely seen Logan go from a five-and-dime town to a bustling community of Northern Utah. What else is there? Home decor sprinkled throughout, teacher supplies, board games, candles, I think there's a candy counter at the back. But we really need to talk about the upstairs. Save for the very front of the space, the entire upstairs--that massive footage with HUNDREDS of shelves that once held books, is now entirely covered with puzzles. Puzzles. So. Many. Puzzles. Seriously, I have never seen so many jigsaw puzzles in one place. 500 pieces? Yup. 1000 pieces? You've got loads of 'em. 3000 pieces? Tons to choose from. 5000? Yes. 100000? You betcha. And then, in the center, a 420000 piece puzzle. That's forty-two thousand pieces. It makes the 38k puzzle that comes in a wooden crate look like a junior edition. It's 25 feet long when assembled! They've put those old bookshelves to use with puzzles of every theme, shape, size, and sanity level. We still think about that puzzle, and the kind of person that drops over five hundred bucks to drive themselves crazy for a couple of years putting it together. One note about the bathroom. It's kind of a triangle, with the toilet at the point. It's so close to the wall, you have to sit on it side-saddle, and so close to the old school radiator that you have to be careful not to touch it with your knees lest you are burned. It's an experience I sure love small towns, where old historic buildings hold books, puzzles, and weird bathrooms. You just have to adjust your mindset: this is not a bookstore. It's an entire town's eclectic interests, spread over three floors of timeless charm. read more

This is a great "book store" for several reasons. I put "book store" in quotes because this place is so much more than a book store. They have a fantastic toys and collectibles section that has toys that you don't see at Walmart or other department stores. (Stuff for babies, stuff for young kids and older kids!) Their game/puzzle section is legendary, there are so many board games, card games, and other types of games for any time of situation. Upstairs they have probably a million puzzles that will satisfy beginners or puzzle fanatics alike. They have a great section for school music: band, orchestra or even piano lesson materials. They even have lessons if your kids need them. The basement is my favorite: Main Street Guitars. They have top quality gear that costs thousands and mid and lower tier equipment that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The staff at the guitar shop are very helpful and kind. Finally, this place charges more than Walmart for toys and books, yes, but the more we can shop at places like the Book Table the more we can support local owners and workers and keep these rad establishments open. 10/10 will be shopping here more when I need a toy for my kid or need to secretly buy a sweet guitar without my wife knowing (jk or am I?) read more

My wife and I make visiting this place a priority whenever we take a day trip to Logan. It's perfect for eclectic people. Really fun seasonal gifts and decorations, solid variety of books, a lot of games, sheet music, instruments, and a colossal variety of puzzles. I feel like half the store is Hallmark 2.0, and the other half is just "kid in a candy store" (they have one of those in the back, by the way. I've been to this business before & after I moved here to Logan,Utah!Their prices are pretty reasonable & you could walk to their location if you wanted to,but if you live in in Cache County but a little further away from this business,you could drive to this place & shop here for books,etc.!I'll gladly recommend this place to those who ask! read more

You wouldn't expect a decent book store to last in a small town like Logan. I've seen some come and go. This has survived! It's not as big and impressive as those in SLC, but I would never expect that. This store is big for any town (other than a big city) and rather impressive. There is a good variety of things. It's not all religious. There are a lot of decorations, music, books, etc... for everyone. It's definitely worth a visit when you're in town or if you need a gift. read more

Surprisingly I've passed by this place so many times thinking it was a religious bookstore only. It has some basic learning toys, musical scores, children books etc. Nice section that reminds me of a teacher's supply store with workbooks and classroom decorations, nice little sections Nice toy deals upstairs once in a while. Meh. Excuse me if I sound like a shmuck but this store is underwhelming. When I see a book store, I expect it to have just books. Or at least 90% books and the rest games maps, journals, et cetera-your basic Barnes & Nobel. Nope. A small section of the store contains books, I'll say about 10% of the store is dedicated to books. The rest are more for elementary school teachers, a bunch of toys, games, decoration, learning tools, and such. Then up stairs is a hot mess of random stuff, I assume the store receives any unsellable and sell them at a ridiculously low price. Like a messy Ross. Thus the reason for one star is misleading front and the disorganized chaos. It's not my cup of tea. Unless they up their game and do better, I'm not coming back. read more

Very little has changed here in decades, besides them stopping movie rentals. It's the toys upstairs that bring me and the family back time and again. But they have so much more..books, sheet music, musical instruments, children's furniture, scrap booking, teaching supplies with LDS books up front. The place is somewhat rundown, some areas of the store feel cluttered, other areas are oddly arranged, and the kid's castle play area is filthy. Some renovations are in need. And it's definitely understaffed for the square footage, finding help can be difficult. They tend to hang out by the cash registers, but most aren't all that knowledgeable or helpful anyway. Still, the Book Table is a Logan institution. It has survived the chain store barrage. I enjoy wasting time here, I find something new and cool every time. read more

This is one of those weird hole in the wall places that make old main streets charming. If you're tired of knowing exactly what you'll find in a store, this is the place for you. An odd hybrid of a bookstore, music store, and toy store, the attic is just weirder, with assorted Amazon warehouse closeouts. The prices are fair, service was good, and we walked out with some things we didn't think we were looking for when we walked in. It was a fun place to spend half an hour on a cold, rainy day on Main Street. read more

I was amazed by their toy selection. My wife and I stopped by to see what The Book Table had to offer and possibly do some light Christmas shopping. They have toys that the big box stores don't have for a reasonable price. We may have purchased more than we anticipated. Amazing how it has been around for 75 or so years.
