They told me the truss rod was maxed out and that I'd have to drop down to 11s, which honestly felt like a gut punch after everything I'd invested in that guitar. On a whim, I stopped into Murphy's since they're a Martin dealer and I wanted to try a D-28. Not only did they take the time to talk with me and let me play, but they were genuinely friendly, engaged, and clearly passionate about guitars and music. I didn't feel rushed or like a burden at all -- which is rare these days. When I mentioned my issue, they offered to take a look. The owner, Wes Dodson, personally stepped in and checked out my J-45. Within minutes, he did what the first shop didn't -- properly adjusted and freed up the truss rod, got it functioning again, and set the guitar up the way it should have been in the first place. He got my guitar playing perfectly with the 13s I wanted, with great action and feel. Total night-and-day difference. I can't say enough about the level of care, honesty, and skill I experienced here. These guys know what they're doing, and more importantly, they actually care. Murphy's Guitars has absolutely earned my business going forward. If you're anywhere in Utah and need a shop you can trust, this is the place.

Before coming to Utah, I visited my local shop in Hawaii and the owner told me my draw length was 32.5" and that he didn't have anything in his shop that would fit me. The Hawaii shop allowed me to shoot a couple bows but they did not bother to adjust the draw length past 29". I left my local shop frustrated because they were the only archery store on the island and I still had hundreds of questions. I came into Wilde Arrow on a Friday evening and asked for help determining my draw length. I gave them a full disclosure that I had almost no experience and I was from out of state. They were happy to help me! They sized me at 31" draw and set up several bows for me to try out. It was incredibly helpful to test out bows that were set up for my draw length. Believing that my draw length was 32.5" limited the bows I could even consider while doing my online research. But since Wilde Arrow helped me confirm my correct draw length is 31", it opened the door to many different bow options. Brandon worked with me one-on-one for two hours, let me shoot different bows, walked me though all the accessories, and answered all of my questions. Shooting different bows side-by-side really helped me narrow down which bow felt the best to me and which bow I wanted to get. I did not feel intimidated or pressured to make decisions. I was allowed to come up with my own conclusions of what felt good and what worked for me. This level of service that was provided even though they knew I might not be a potential customer (being that I was from out of state). I left Wilde Arrow Archery that night impressed at the staffs' knowledge, patience, and overall helpfulness. Based on my experience with my local archery shop back home, I wasn't confident in having the Hawaii shop set up my future bow. I had a couple extra days in Utah before going home so I came back to Wilde Arrow the very next day. I decided that if I was going to get a bow, I wanted Wilde Arrow to set up everything correctly. Brandon was working again and I told him I would like to buy a bow and take it with me back to Hawaii. I picked the bow, rest, sights, and quiver. He took everything into the back room and started putting everything together. I also picked out a release and a hard case for travel. The staff helped me choose a dozen arrows to get started. They had me shooting in the range with my new bow in a couple hours. I was grateful for the little coaching lessons on my form and technique. Brandon was extremely helpful getting everything on my bow set up correctly so I would be able to hit the ground running when I get back to Hawaii. I wish I had access to this level of customer service at an archery shop back home. I believe Wilde Arrow went out of their way to help me out in my unique situation. I walked into their shop confused and intimidated. I left with confidence and a brand-new Mathews VXR. I bought the bow on a Saturday and the store was busy. It looked like some people had to wait for a while to get serviced, but the staff were proactively communicating and reaching out to the waiting customers. Overall, Wilde Arrow Archery gets 5/5 from me. At the end of the day, their customer service and expertise earned them a sale. I hope I get to stop by the shop on future trips to Utah.

He was professional, helpful, & knowledgeable. Why am I giving them a one star you might ask? Because of my second experience just a couple weeks later. I went in to purchase a mounted microwave. Pam was my sales associate & just like Spencer, was professional, helpful & knowledgeable. I choose the microwave I wanted, payed for it, & then was told they didn't have it in stock until after I purchased it. They then told me **I would have to go to a different facility** to go pick it up a week later. (The day I purchased this was a Saturday & they told me I'd get it Thursday) Strike one. But I was willing to try to be the better person & left their store saying thank you. Later that evening I called the store & told them I wanted to pay the additional 100$ to have it delivered & installed. They told me not a problem & they would call me on the scheduled day ( a week from then) to let me know what time they'd arrive. I never received a phone call on the delivery day (Thursday) & could not get ahold of an associate to see what was going on. Strike two. I called them the following day (Friday) & asked what was going on. I was told I'd get a phone call back within 30 minutes. An hour went by & I called them. I spoke with an Associate named Linda. I was told that they didn't know what was going on & that it could be delivered tonight (Friday). I explained to them I was not happy that no one reached out to me, & that now I need to cancel my Friday night plans with my wife to wait for a microwave to be delivered & installed before 7pm. I asked if I could get any kind of discount, compensation, credit or anything for the inconvenience. Linda, being *very rude* told me tough luck, we can give you a refund or change the delivery date. Strike three. So here we are. Come on Boyles. You treated me with respect when I was making a purchase. But after I've made the purchase, if you're going to treat people rudely, discount or not, I have to tell others to be aware. Do better. ***Update (the following day)*** My microwave was never delivered that Friday night as I was told. I just called this morning & found out they canceled my order on their own stating "we weren't sure if you wanted us to bring it still & we saw your one star review".... my favorite part was being called a liar this morning when I told you I wanted it delivered yesterday. Very professional. This is some of the worst customer service I've ever seen. I paid you. You took my money. I was told a day. You didn't do your job. I followed up. You told me you weren't sure what happened. I stated I was upset. You didn't care. I told you to deliver it last night. You told me it would arrive by 7pm. It never did. I called the following morning to be told you weren't sure if I wanted it anymore & was called a liar..... Do you see the pattern? If someone pays you for a service, do it, especially if it's your instructions of when it will be done.
