Was passed onto three different people who each said "I'll check" and each time I did not get my question answered and instead put on hold and passed onto another person where I had to repeat my spiel. Played a bunch of different guitars, many that are out of my price range, without any pressure from sales people. It was a busy evening and I had no problem finding amps to plug into. I tried a used Epi Thunderbird which needed a slight adjustment. They took care of that and Jesse found a case that it would fit in. I bought it and I will definitely be back. read more

This Guitar Center was the first in our area, outside of Boston, and was a very good store for many years. It's sad to see how far the inventory and level of service have fallen over the past four to five years. The store is literally dirty and disorganized. There are boxes in random locations and many items don't have price tags, are damaged, or in the case of used gear, priced very high. The ProAudio department is the worst. Despite the fact that the old guy with the ponytail claims to have been the head engineer at Electric Lady NYC for twenty-five years. He told us that Eddie Kramer turned him onto Sterling mics. The Warwick Store, although it is a little bit of a drive, is much better. It has its share of quirks but the manager seems to be more on top of things and the store is better organized and the staff is attentive, if not knowledgeable. The lower-level stores like Warwick, Attleboro, and Braintree all stock roughly the same things. The Attleboro store is the one that comes off as caring the least. Millbury has a very small store but the manager and staff make it worth the drive. I wish it were closer. read more

Purchased a fender Strat from this business in Oct 2020. Due to Covid I sat on it until February when I returned do you have it retuned. The low E string had a god awful vibration which was determined by the staff to have a bad nut cut to deep on the E string. They tried to fix it by inserting glue into the nut and raising the bridge. I took I back and sent it to a professional. The neck was dried out and warped. The fret bars extend beyond some areas of the neck. It's costing an additional $150 to straighten this Fender Guitar out. My advice to Guitar Center is run the humidifier and have your staff check out the instruments before selling them. Thanks for the response short of paying for the repair. Have your Tech team review the complete sale of these guitars. I'm sure some of them have been hanging for quite a while. Others may also have warped necks. Your business in noted for selling guitars nation wide. Make it right the first time! read more

This is one of the worst Guitar Center locations in eastern Mass! The employees never greet you, never go out of their way to help you and just stand around looking like a puppet on strings. When they do help, they are rude and really arn't knowledgeable about much. Seems like a trend with Guitar Center where they hire low lives that can't even do their job. Hire people who enjoy the music and helping people look for what they need! Floors tend to be dirty, guitar wall is never stocked anymore, bathroom is hideous... I could go on all day. Has always been an unsettling experience coming to this this location. I stood there for 20 minutes just staring at stuff thinking maybe some will come up to me and asked me hey do you need some help. I finally found somebody. I need to buy a guitar for my father as a Christmas present. He basically show me to an electric guitar "that's not basic". Then he showed me a guitar with a base "no I want one that he can learn on". Then the dude just walked away and left, "thanks for the help?" So I went and bought a strap and some picks. which by the way i asked a stranger about the guitar picks. He answered my question but he didn't even work there. I went to check out and I told the person who checked me out, "you know for new person this is overwhelming". His response OK all set bye. I'll find somewhere else. You just wasted my time. Absolutely the worst place to buy a guitar. My son has been taking guitar lessons for 3 years and ready to move to a full size acoustic electric. We came in on two occasions. The first time it was empty and nobody talked to us. The employees were all standing around talking to each other. The second time it was somewhat busy and I tried asking questions, but the guy half heartedly answered my questions and walked away. I've been shopping at the guitar center for years. I remember when they first opened. If you were a musician in RI or MA we never had a store like this. We had small mom and pop music stores that had mediocre selections of instruments for the most part. Not to take away from the mom and pop stores. They had knowledgeable people , offered lessons and we're always there to help. Then the guitar center came to town . WOW!! The place was huge with guitars lining the walls and a room dedicated to just drums and percussion . All great brands and premuium top of the line drums too!!! And....you could grab sticks , sit down and play them!!!! Eureka !! It truly was unbelievable and it gave kids like me the ability to purchase premium gear and I did. More than once! Unfortunately this led to the closing of several small privately owned music stores that had been around for decades. They couldn't compete . Kind of like the home Depot effect on the small hardware stores. NOW it seems the guitar center is struggling. Sales are down, stock is consistently down . You can see this in the store by the shrinking inventories and shortage of sales people to help you. All and all I love this store but you can see it's decline . Long winded eh? ;) read more

Ordered an electronic drum set on the Guitar Center website to pick up in- store in North Attleboro. Long story short, they did not carry a NIB set I ordered despite the inventory confirmation online. I worked with the store manager, Derek, for over an hour on the phone to come to a resolution that we were happy with. Derek's commitment to customer service will make me be a repeat Guitar Center North Attleboro customer. The minus one star is for the poor online inventory practice of Guitar Center's corporate umbrella. I would recommend to call ahead to the individual store if you plan on doing a same day item pick up. read more

I went in to GC Attleboro to buy a new envelope filter and a tuner for my guitar. The main checkout counter is square so unless the people working there are paying attention there is no semblance of order. There was one person being waited on, and another gentleman at the counter who was there before me - and one saleperson. After the first person was taken care of I figured I was next after the person just before me. The salesperson even said to me, "hang on - I'll be with you next". And knowing the order I was patient - places get busy and I understand that. But as the second guy was being helped, another salesperson came to the counter and some guy (who JUST walked in while I was waiting at the desk, and was asking about earplugs!) just walks over and was waited on. I waited to see if it would be a quick discussion - it was not. I could have said something - but if the people working there aren't trying to maintain order in a sale space that has no discernible plan to it why should I try? So I walked out - went online to reverb.com and my stuff will be delivered in two days. Why are brick and mortar stores dying out? CUz there is no plan for handling customers in a  fair way. I have been to this GC in the past and purchased from the back rooms (where there is a single salesperson/simple-counter setup) and received quality advice and products, so in fairness I can't trash them in rating - but geez, tell your salespeople to fairly check out customers waiting to be helped! read more

This place was amazing in it's heyday, now not so much. The electric guitar wall used to be stocked to the masses, there used to be amp gondolas, it was an experience. Like all other retailers, they seem to be slowly dying to Amazon. Their trade-in program has become a joke. They used to treat their customers right. When I bought my first guitar back in the early 2000s they would throw in freebies like a strap, strings, cleaner etc. Now you are lucky to be treated with respect. The employees seem more like used car salesmen these days and less like musicians. I wish corporate would clean this location up Braintree and Warwick are light years ahead in store appearance and attentive employees. I may make the longer trip to one of those locations since N. I must say Im extremely disappointed in the service and inability of staff at this location to get the job done. Placed an online order was told 3-4 hours for pick up. I called the store to make sure my items were physically there. Never received my email for pick up and still haven't 24 hours later. Contacted customer service which was pretty useless also. Im a guitar player and I wanted to have someone else change the strings on two of my acoustic guitars. I get tired of doing it. I called the Attleboro store this morning and asked if the guitar tech was there today. The guy that answered the phone said "sure..hes here at 11am today". I packed the guitars in my car and drove there..from Providence. When I arrived I was informed that the guitar tech was out due to something to do with final exams? HUNH? Are you kidding me? WHO IS RUNNING THIS PLACE? The manager at this store and the regional manager for the whole chain need some serious training in the field of customer service. Although I think its already too late for the entire Guitar Center chain. If you are buying a guitar or need one repaired, you are much better going to your local mom & pop guitar store. This was my first time visiting a Guitar Center. I was a bit intimidated before going in, because I don't know much about music. I had this mental picture of being condescended to by the staff. I was there to purchase a ukulele, because I thought it might be a fun instrument to tinker with. Anyway, I found the one I wanted, so I found a staff member pretty easily. I told him I was just starting out, and was looking for something affordable. He recommended the one I already decided on, but also offered me other options based on price and features, which was nice. I went with my original pick. Also got a tuner and some picks. In general, I was very pleased with my visit here. Matt, the staff member who helped me, was very friendly and informative. He answered all my questions, and it wasn't at all condescending (like my previous mental picture). He seemed very knowledgeable, and in general, all the staff just seemed to be passionate about music. I'll definitely be back! read more

It was a good store a few years back. I have bought 3 guitars over the years, two in the Attleboro store, and one at the Warwick store, always with good results. I went today to try an upgrade a 200 series 6 string Taylor to a 300 series 12 string Taylor. I had not been there for a couple of years. So I walk into a deserted store, granted it was a Monday afternoon. I stood at the counter In the guitar department and waited for someone to show. Finally a person over in string land was able to call someone to the area. Two guys show up, one guy apparently the manager and another older gentleman. I told the manager what I wanted to do, but I wanted a price on the guitar (which by the way is in perfect condition). He says he has to "research " the value, but how much was I looking for. I answered thats why I'm here, to find out what you will give toward what I want. Well, the inventory was definitely no where near what it use to be, and would they have to order the 12 string from the warehouse. If I want to purchase the guitar, they could have it in a few days. Well, I still don't know what your going to give me toward the new one, and I want to play the thing before I buy. Apparently it does not work like that. You turn your trade in now, pay for a guitar you can't pick up, inspect and play, and hope you like the thing. So, he and the sidekick, take the guitar and head to the office and I take a walk to the acoustic area. Low and behold, there is a used guitar just like mine for $699. Remember, they have to "research" the value. After awhile, another guy, who just came in to work, comes out with my guitar. The boss says if you sell it today , the best we can do is $450. I said, I won't sell until I can see and play the new one. So again, you got to buy the new one sight unseen. And also, you got the same guitar used for $250 more. I would have been happy with $550. I got pissed and said I can't do business with you guys, and left. If the store as a small guitar or music store, I can see why they would not order a guitar before being bought. This place is a chain. If I didn't like the new guitar, fine, they send it back to the warehouse. Also, I agree with other reviews. The place is dirty, low high end inventory, and not appearing to be all the customer friendly store they used to be. I won't go back. The guy on duty asked if I needed help and spoke with me at length about straps and helped me pick out what I needed. After informing him I was a newbie to guitar he gave me an impromptu lesson with some helpful tips. Most unhelpful store I've ever been too. I walked into guitar center last week to grab a bunch of things from a new guitar I purchased (not through them). I needed a new case, some new gear and possibly an amp. I walked in on December 30th and the store was a mess. There wasn't much inventory out and if there was, it looked to be like things customers returned over the holidays. The boxes were taped up, looked beat up and honestly, who's going to spend hundreds of dollars on something like that? My first encounter was with a woman who had purplish hair, who was the most helpful of them all. I explained that the main reason why I was here was for a new guitar case, she helped me choose one that I would like but explained that she didn't have it at the time but could place an order for me. I told her that would be great but, I got to get some other gear too so I would return to her. Enter the gear people....the most unhelpful of them all. The gentleman I dealt with was an older, very quiet man. I told him what I needed and he barely acknowledged me, and didn't even seem knowledgable on anything I needed. He barely paid any attention to me, but instead kept talking to his customers. Honestly, he gave me the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I'm not sure of his name, or else I would call him out. But Guitar center, you should train all these guys to be more helpful and be more knowledgeable when it comes to stuff like this. My last experience was with a young man who helped me place my order, pick out some guitar strap, and some small accessories. He was helpful and had great customer service. Overall, I won't be returning to guitar center at all. I'm heading to local music shops from now on. This Guitar Center used to be pretty good in its heyday, I used to go pretty much anytime I had anything music-related I needed. I'm both a musician able to play multiple instruments and a DJ, and recently got into Podcasting and I've bought quite a bit of my gear here. I still shop often on their online store any time I have gear I need to buy (or as is more likely when window shopping online, just want to buy and play with but can't quite justify yet) but going to the physical store for anything live-sound related has become a real problem as of late. The reliability of their selection range has decreased significantly and I cannot simply walk in and find more than 2 items that are even relevant to what I need and they'll usually either be *way* out of my budget's price range, or be cheap but just barely out of the capability range for what I need it to do. The website is useful for shopping their inventory, but I hardly want to have to weed through the website and deal with all of its issues before just popping in after my day job to see if they have something I can use for an upcoming gig and get in my hands right now. Also, their website, while half decent, is hardly much better than just going to Amazon where you have to do a boatload of weeding through less-than-reputable sellers and brands for the items you want, but the much greater selection means you're more likely to find products that fit your need, budget, and have product pages with more product pictures and listed specs so you can figure out compatibility with your existing gear for the gig you're doing. I also went in there recently to look for a few specific items and price a couple more items for some near-future purchases, and the first person to "greet" me was either a very ill-disguised LP guy, or a very creepy lurking customer who likes to get really close to other customers randomly. There were 2-3 guys working behind the counter (I don't remember if it was 2 or 3, I was trying to get in and out as quick as I could before going home for supper, but it was definitely more than 1,) and maybe 2 other visible customers in the area I was in. Not one of those guys said a word to me, which if part of their goal is LP, maybe start with the people hired to help customers actually trying to help the customers? I don't need a hovering LP guy getting in my way when I'm trying to see what even is in the place for what I need, I'm a (potential) paying customer, maybe try treating me like one of those first before assuming I'm about to pull off some massive heist of the two whole pieces of equipment you have in that section? read more

ugh! i called guitar center prior to making the mad journey down rte 1, and the item i sought was in stock and it was $30ish. I checked their website and it was under $14 but would not be available until 3/28. I wanted it fast -- yesterday, if possible. I walked in, turned left to Pro Audio, and was greeted by a salesperson perched on a stool, checking out some foot pedal with something Fenderesque. From atop his perch he asked if he could help and i told him what i wanted. Still seated, he dismissed me with "oh, we won't have that. that is a special item specifically made for that model." It is not a special item -- it works with a number of the companies products, but his lack of knowledge was not even an issue. I just want the item i came for. I told him that i had called ahead and that i was assured that the item i sought was in stock and i expressed that if it was not in house i am going to be annoyed. He rose to his feet abruptly, grunted, -- clearly annoyed that i interrupted his perching time, and took off from his perch with a flurry of passion far greater than the level which the guitar met with. He searched on the wall behind the counter and found it. From the moment he put the guitar down and annoyedly bolted behind the counter, this salesperson gave me attitude. Attitude while he searched for it, attitude when he found the item, attitude when he made the sale -- infantile. I smiled appreciatively and thanked him. I was stoked that now had it in my possession. However, i was almost sent home without it because some lazy, self-aggrandizing, self-appointed know-it-all salesperson didnt want to get up off of a stool to check. Seriously, it seemed as though he would break into tantrum at any moment because i disturbed him, prompted him to check, and proved him wrong. When the dust settled and the smoke cleared, i got what i came for, but i would never go back there for anything. they are not a well-stocked store. Oh geeze where to begin! I went here last night to look for a snare drum for my son, we'll this is the last time I will ever go here again. The store was completely empty, us and another guy and a bunch of poor losers just there to play the instruments who didn't need any help. Well us and the other guy needed help and no one was to be found, apparently there were at least 7 people working but doing nothing. After about 10 mins of waiting in the drum section for some assistance to get drum sticks and ask a question or 2, no one came around and I went to go look for someone, of course they were rude and all just sitting around! They guy behind the desk who was doing nothing said he'd send someone over. The other guy in the store told me he had been waiting over 10 mins to see someone. Needless to say no one ever came over so my husband took it upon himself to walk behind the counter and grab the sticks my son wanted. We didn't care at this point! Check out was also horrific, we waited 15 mins to be checked out because the person who was in front of us credit card kept getting declined, but the guy working didn't get it and had them fill out an app for a store card. After about 10 mins he finally called a guy up, the guy looked like he was on meth and was some fat smelly unkempt fella. He was very rude and definitely on something, he rang up the drum and couldn't get the sticks to scan so he started slamming the keys of the computer and saying, ugh it's not ringing up, and proceeded to punch comp keys, he was super weird and creepy and just gross. After about 10 mins with this guy, he finally got the sticks to ring in, maybe the scene he threw made it work lol we left and the guy didn't say a word he def was on drugs, we said loudly on the way out how horrible the service was but shockingly no one was around. Was at the Emerald Square Mall, and on the way home saw G.C., Never pass up an opportunity to look at guitars. I went in, not busy, so I wandered around. Decided to buy some strings, so I went to that counter. Two employees were extolling the virtues of a $200 guitar to a couple of guys, so I stood buy to wait my turn. They were having trouble ringing the sale when another associate approached. For the next ten minutes, while being totally ignored, I watched 3 monkees trying to Fu#$ a football! One of the three went away from me as another customer approached. Can I help you? He said to the new customer. I mumbled, I don't believe it, under my breath and turned to leave. As I started towards the door, I heard someone ask me, can I help you? I replied, Not anymore, and exited. When I got back to my truck, I saw the employee that totally ignore me, scurrying to his car. Seemed he had finished his shift. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT STORE !!! read more

bought a whole bunch of stuff from guitar center over years and finally had an issue w/ the product that i bought. was an online order shipped to the N. Attleboro store for Christmas (guitar amp). after two days the amp shorted out. i didn't know what to expect in terms of returns / exchange policies. the people at guitar center were pretty cool about the whole thing - no "well we can't do blah blah blah"...it was straight forward and they were very helpful. the small shops usually get accolades for service. i def. appreciate the support those guys gave on getting the issue resolved. read more

my faith hath been restored ! I bought a (90°) monster cable many years ago, the cadilac of cables ( back then). it died quickly. i went to G.C and even though they didnt have a 90° one, they gave me a "regular" one and said come back every few weeks and they should have the 90° in. well I did, for a year, and they never did. dissapointed I gave up hope of ever getting a 90° replacement cable. a decade later, I go in and talk to the manager and tell him the story. turns out Monster made a lot of bad decisions thinking they were king of the hill, and when serious competition came in to challenge them they made some bad decisions. anyway the manager was super understanding, to the point of giving me my choice of (their lifetime gaurantee brand) cable, any length, for my (decade old) trouble.
