Its frustrating when you enter a building intending to try and make a purchase and they manage to inadvertently talk you out of it. I came specifically to ask questions about a P Bass and to either buy one today or have them order one. I ask a guy for help and he says "Do you play bass or are you a beginner?" And I said I play guitar and I'm looking to add a bass to my collection and would specifically like a P Bass. Dude says "Hold on let me get my guitar guy." And then leaves. Never comes back. I wait 15 minutes, the dude looks at me and passes by, probably because he's awkwardly waiting for his friend to come to me. He doesn't personally acknowledge me or say "Hey, my guitar guy is coming, he's just busy processing something but we're here for you. His name is --" nothing. He just walks by hoping I won't say "Hey, where's my guy?" I saw like four people who were unapproachable and looking as busy as they could who wouldn't make eye contact with me and power walked around me. Okay cool guys I guess I'll just order from online. The whole point in coming in to Box Stores like this is to talk to a human and stimulate a local economy but if you guys can't even do that then there's significantly better deals online. read more

Went to check out the store and it's inventory. When I walked in there was boxes in the aisles and garbage on the floors like nobody ever cleaned up. Not the greatest selection of electric or acoustic guitars and basses, drums, or keys compared to every other GC I've been to in the last three decades. Equipment was badly organized and again boxes open and closed all over the place. Certainly not a showroom. Three guys standing around and not one asked me if I needed help with something. I was so happy to have a real music store in the area but they failed my expectations compared to every other GC I've been to ,which have been many over the years. I don't know what the personnel is like because I never talked to any of them while I was there for an hour. read more

This is a review of the music lessons annex inside the Guitar Center of Dublin, not a review of the experience of purchasing a musical instrument there. The measure of good customer service is not when an establishment consistently gets it right, but how effectively they respond when they occasionally get it wrong. My son has been taking lessons at GC of Dublin for about five months, and the experience has been overwhelmingly positive. His teacher has a systematic method, and is very knowledgeable about the instrument. I'm pleased to see my kid's technical proficiency improve, despite the fact that he doesn't practice as much as I'd like him to. On one occasion, a make-up lesson the administration coordinated resulted in a double-booking. The staff at GC really went out of their way to make it work; my son sat in with another instructor, who left him with a good supply of take-home exercises to practice through. To accommodate the situation, the substitute instructor willingly forfeited his afternoon break. Aside from the effectiveness of the instructor, that's one of the reasons we keep coming back: the staff at this particular GC has demonstrated that they're committed to making the customer satisfied. Really poor customer service staff. Teacher/Instructor was good in general. But the staff here acts like they are the customers and as if they are doing customer a favor for taking classes, bad attitude and unresponsive staff, talks very rudely and makes you run forever in circles one will say call other and other will not respond anytime. Will not recommend at all for any lessons here because of the rude/insensitive lessons staff. read more

Lessons Review - Very unprofessional staff and policies I typically don't write reviews (neither positive nor negative) but Guitar Center, Dublin experience was so bad that I am compelled to write one. My daughter has been going there for music lessons (vocals and keyboard) for more than a year now and their staff keeps leaving every 3-4 months. And they are not accommodative at all when it comes to replacement. In one year or so, my daughter had 2 keyboard instructors left and 2 vocal instructors left. Every time an instructor left, either they will not have a replacement and if they have one, instead of accommodating to your schedule, they would force you to change your schedules. As also mentioned by other reviewers, Lizzie maybe among some of the most unpolite persons to speak to. She (and most of the other lessons members) would make you feel that it was your fault that their instructor left. If you cannot work with their schedules and ask them for a refund (please note that I am not canceling voluntarily, GC guys are not giving you any choice to continue with them), they would not give you any refunds. I've been discussing 2 separate refunds with them for more than 4 months now. On one occasion, they told me that they initiated the refund and I should check with my bank. When I call my bank, they tell me that GC has refused the refund. This has been going back and forth for last 4 months. On the second occasion, they tell me that they don't have a policy of refunds (note the contradiction between two cases) and I should wait/postpone lessons until they find the replacement (and there is no timeframe/ETA on replacement). You try to speak with them on the phone, they will hang-up. Summary: If you are looking for good professional lessons staff and consistent music training for your kids, look elsewhere. read more

Classes are good...since the teachers are good & methodical; However, their customer service admins have really bad moods...while clarifying an issue ..the lady slammed on me to say that she can't remember 400 students schedule!! If there's a mistake, you have to simple accept, correct & move on. No one needs to remember any schedule, you need to just communicate correctly to parents as well as teachers!! And when people call up to report an issue, you can't be more frustrated that us!! read more

It was a wonderful experience coming in and receiving the perfect customer service. I was looking to buy my first guitar, Jambo was more then likely to help me. His recommendation of acoustic guitars were all straight forward, I loved how he would play them out for me to get a better understanding of the tone. He knew his stuff. I don't usually make negative reviews, but in this case, I think of this as fair warning. Guitar Center markets their Lessons department as "World Class Music Instruction" on their website. At this particular location, I want to say that this marketing pitch is appearing to be a complete lie. I have been in the Lessons waiting room and have listened to the girl talk who apparently does the signups and administration. I think her name is Lizzy. She treats the instructors with no respect at all, and speaks in a denigrating way behind their backs to others. When I spoke with her about signing up, which I did not do, she was curt and pushy. I was interested in one instructor who I heard playing in the store and thought was very good. As it turns out, He no longer works there. No wonder. There seems to be much turn over of instructors, my guess is that management is only interested in bringing people in to drive their retail sales quota and not interested in education really. My recommendation; if you want a professional mentor for music instruction, don't bother with the fact that this place is in a convenient location, find a skilled teacher who is in an environment that is suitable for competent instruction and mentoring. Really, don't go here, it's really not a friendly place for learning. read more
