Looks to be a local hangout. People were friendly and having fun at the bar.Our waitress was very sweet. Then it happened. We ordered drinks and were perusing the vast menu when I noticed a line at the bottom of the menu: No Credit Cards. Looking for cash, trying to access the ATM was fruitless and sadly got up to leave when out of nowhere the nicest man came Over and placed a $100 dollar bill on our table. This is one of those places where the locals are forced to go because it's the only place in town and they pretend it's good because they have to see the owner at the grocery store. The first impression was... odd. The interior is just a large rectangular room with oddly spaced tables. All the tables are covered in a sticky faux leather table cloth and there was some gaudy wall decor that you would see in the discount section at HomeGoods. Onto the service. We were greeted quickly and told we could sit where we like. The staff were very friendly and seemed very busy clearing tables. We only saw our waitress three times during the hour and a half we were there. I'm not sure what an average Saturday night looks like for them but if I see empty tables and no one waiting to be seated, I would not call that busy. We ordered the garlic bread for an appetizer and immediately put in our food orders. It took 30 minutes for the bread to come out and an hour for the food, including a salad with no fresh components to be found. It even took forever for the bill to come and when it did, my husband was informed that it was cash only and he could use the ATM. Now for the food. We got the garlic bread for the table. It was okay, I feel like it's pretty difficult to ruin bread. The marinara was good but very chunky so when you tried to dip, you would just soak up tomato juice and leave the chunks in the bowl. I got the chicken picotta. Slightly confusing because I've only heard of chicken piccata, which is a lemony sauce with capers. What I got was more akin to chicken Marsala, which is extra confusing because there was also chicken Marsala on the menu. Whatever it was supposed to be, it was very bland and the chicken was pale and sad. It was served on a ridiculous amount of spaghetti. My sister got the chicken Caesar salad. Her first reaction was that, and I quote, "the chicken tastes like fart". I wish I was joking. I think what she's describing is old cooked chicken that has been sitting in a fridge for days, waiting for its chance to finally shine on a mediocre caesar salad. My husband got the Alfredo. He said it was pretty good and he enjoyed it. Next time I'm making him order my food because he seems to know what he's doing. Overall I was unimpressed by the place but given that they're one of the only restaurants in the area, I'll give them a star for at least feeding me something edible in my time of need. Limited wait staff but pleasant. Cup of beef soup was literally an opened carton of dark brown broth with some boiled potatoes. My husband said he could smell it across the table. Got some takeout food a couple weeks ago. My turkey sub had a lot of bread, very little turkey, a few tomato slices. I ate the whole thing, and it was OK, not as good as Subway. Even getting a pre-wrapped sub from Walmart would be better. Going forward, in a pinch I will go to Giuseppe's for some quick takeout food, but only because it's close to where I live and is open late. read more

Went last night sat at bar, fast friendly service got wings and mushrooms to go both good. Been going for years, Some variation of quality at times, but 80-90 % good service and food. Funny the first review here....(David B.) says he had a turkey sub..They don't serve COLD subs, never had turkey or any cold subs on menu so he couldn't have gotten a turkey sub from there, so I'd take a grain of salt to the validity of his review !! They sell hot subs not cold, Maybe he ordered it custom made? And they gave him the same amount of turkey as a sandwich as it's probably portioned (like any restaurant) And like any restaurant some days are not as good as others, we go there usually the second half of the week. read more

Came here after a recommendation from a friend about high quality eats, large portions and good prices. And man were they right!! There was a party going on in the main dining area, so we had to eat in the bar area which had small bar tables and a room off to the side with additional dining tables. The place was fairly busy and the sounds of levity and good times were in the air. Even though the service was affected because it was in the bar area, the bartender and the wait staff were still attentive to us. There is a regular dining menu and a completely separate bar menu for food, we were able to look at both and ordered one order of sauceless naked wings, which we split, with a little container each of garlic parm sauce, hot buffalo sauce and blue cheese on the side. The wings were juicy and flavorful and the sauces were really tasty to dip into. We would definitely order the wings again. We had a few leftover wings which were also still very tasty the next day. We ordered for our entrées lasagna and veal Parmesan. The entrées came with a choice of soup or salad. My girlfriend got the soup which was Italian sausage and I got a salad with Italian dressing. She really enjoyed the soup and mentioned it had some spicy heat to it. My veal Parmesan was tasty and tender with a really good Parmesan coating, it was a nice big cutlet. The veal Parmesan also came with a side of pasta. My girlfriend mentioned that the lasagna was tasty though it was not quite hot enough, it should have been heated further. We ordered some beers, they had a pretty good size draft list as well as a huge bottle list. She got a Guinness I got a couple of fiddleheads. We were so stuffed and had leftovers but our friend mentioned about great desserts as well and the bartender said that the desserts are all homemade so we just had to take home a hunk of carrot cake. What a decadent and delicious huge slice of cake! The cake itself was so moist and tasty with an amazing icing, awesome with morning coffee. Sorry we forgot to get a picture of that. The bartender was very friendly and accommodating, everybody there was really nice. We will definitely be back, this is an example of a successful business that is not price gouging the public and I'm sure this has created lots of repeat business. Guiseppe's Restaurant is a local Italian American restaurant & bar tucked up away from Route 7 in Pittstown, just west of the Hoosick town line (Potter Hill). This family run restaurant has three separate entrances: takeout & market entrance (left), bar entrance (center), and dining room entrance. I stopped here for dinner on a typical weeknight. The takeout entrance was closed and the dining room looked empty, but the bar area (loud atmosphere) was packed with plenty of regulars, mostly an older crowd. I entered through the bar entrance and I asked the bartender for a menu. I seat myself at a table on the other side of the bar. The bar has TVs, video games, darts, Touchtunes jukebox, Quick Draw (forms at each table), and is fully stocked with liquor and over 100 beers offered. There's also a fireplace and place is decorated with NY Giants and Nascar themes. This restaurant is also a meeting place for a snowmobile club. Live band entertainment is offered. The waitress comes out and goes over the specials and takes my drink order. The menu offers Italian American fare including pasta, pizza, chicken, steaks, veal, seafood, soups, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers. Dinner entrees come with soup or salad and bread. The prices here are reasonable, dinner entrees ($8.95-$19.95) and sandwiches with a side ($5.95-$7.95). It took me a while to decide (10 layer lasagna or eggplant parmigiana), but I started out with an order of Fried Calamari ($6.95), which had light & crispy breading (not greasy) with very tender calamari served with a chunky tomato sauce. Next, a basket of hot bread & butter was brought out, which was soft and chewy. The tossed salad (comes with dinner) with standard lettuce with tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and dressing in a small wood bowl. I did wait quite a while for my dinner (25 minutes after ordering) to come out. I ordered Eggplant Parmigiana ($9.95) and I was expecting a modest portion with a few breaded slices of eggplant, pasta, sauce, & cheese. When the food finally came out, I was pleasantly surprised at the very generous portions of food served. The eggplant dish needed time to bake and it was definitely worth the wait! The eggplant parmigiana was served in a good sized casserole dish (enough for 2 people) and a separate plate of pasta (I chose fettuccine) with a chunky homemade tomato sauce. The food was outstanding with the eggplant parmigiana layered with lots of mozzarella cheese and thin breaded eggplant slices. The pasta was cooked perfectly with the delicious tomato sauce. I was very stuffed and the waitress boxed up the rest of the food at the table. I had to pass on dessert. The desserts are homemade (by Colleen) and change often. They had eclair pie, tiramisu, carrot cake, apple pie, chocolate layer cake just to name a few. Next time! Overall, the atmosphere here is definitely far from being 5 stars, more like a local watering hole atmosphere. The service was friendly. The food I had was exceptional. a lot of food for the money! Quick stop with hungry teenagers. On our way north for ski vacation. We drove from Philly. Food was quick, service was great and the quality was surprisingly very very good. We got the pasta special which they must make home made sauce. Portion was huge. My mouth said yes and my stomach finally threw in the towel. Leftovers for lunch tomorrow. We used to go there once a month until one time we brought our 4-year-old daughter. Dinner took 2 hours and 45 minutes. For some reason, our waitress ignored us and would not serve us until she checked with all the other tables. The clientele turned over 3 times as they were served and left. Guiseppe's was a very disappointing restaurant that I recently ate at. For an appetizer I ordered the mozzarella sticks. They were the frozen generic kind that are not good. They have no flavor and the cheese was hard to eat. For my entree I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. The cheeseburger had decent flavor, but it was overcooked and dry. The fries were solid, they were crispy with some flavor. The service was awful. The waitress was rude and yelled at me because while she was handing me the plate I grabbed it. She flipped out and said I should of waited for here to get a placemat. Why wasn't the placemat already out. Anyways I will never eat here again. read more

I was a guest at a Christmas parties that was catered by Guiseppes. I will start with the lasagna....we opened the cover and thought there was a mistake. The lasagna has no sauce and no cheese on top, literally the top layer was bare. The host called the restaurant and was told that's how they serve it when ordered to go. I have had the lasagna at the restaurant and they do not serve it this way. It tastes like it was made 3 days in advance. The next platter was chicken parm. Love Guiseppe's. Went there for pizza and wings on Sunday 2/18/18 with the grandkids. Pizza and wings are reasonably priced and you can tell love is put into the food. When we call last not we get huffing and puffing on the other line as if she is bothered taking our order on Friday 1/17/20 @7:30 ish P. M. Get there 30 minutes later and he waited and waited while it was way more important to take two newbie walk in's order who had a seat at the bar after she had said "I'll be right with ya" 10 minutes earlier. All while he still is standing and waiting Not only does she proceed to take their order. She even makes the damn drinks right in front of him! Serves them to the newbie walk in's. So heres my thing. We had reservations for NYE made. We got there, was immediately seated and immediately got our drink order. after that all wend down hill. We sat there for an HOUR and not have even gotten served bread. They were got crazy busy but there was no reason why other tables who came after us already was getting served!!!! They apologized after we made note of the service and all they could say was the table of 20-25 had not left yet!!!!! We will never go back and maybe the wait staff should be retrained on how to handle crowds more efficiently. read more

Dined here recently with some friends and was pleasantly surprised, but there was a few downfalls. This place could use a serious make over. You have to drive up a steep, bumpy hill to get to the parking lot which is also full of potholes. The sign is outdated, as is the building. The dining room is full of family photos and toys, which may be cute to some, but I thought it was a little too much. The tables are all set up weird and it was just not a comfortable looking set up. On to the food - we started off with a few sodas and water. I don't know if it was just that night, or the water from the area (as I'm from Albany) but the water tasted like total iron. I felt like I was licking a dirty penny. It was gross. We ordered mozz sticks, wings and pizza. When the mozz sticks came out I was a little disappointed because they looked like frozen, generic mozz sticks that you could get from a diner. I thought they would be more home made, but apparently only the sauce was. Ill probably skip those next time. We got BBQ wings which were really good, but the pizza was amazing. Apparently all the ingredients are home made, including the dough, which really made it taste great. My friend ordered the chicken parm which was alright. Huge portions. Only sizes of pizza are 12 cut and 24 cut which don't work so well for 2 people. Everyone had left overs. Our waitress stopped over maybe once during our dinner and only offered refills after our dinners were done which was annoying because we were the only table in there. We said yes then they seasted two more groups in front of us and I asked why we weren't seated and the girl dino co sided the covered patio outside. Then they took 10 minutes to even take our drink order or our food order. Walked into the dining entrance. Empty and couldn't find anyone. I walked into the bar and wasn't acknowledged initially. Had to wait and ask for help. I was seated and was served quickly. Waitress was prompt and friendly. Prices were good for the ample portions. Food was ok. Bathroom was disgusting. Missing stall door and looking like it was going to tip over. The stall with a door had a toilet overflowing and wouldn't flush. What REALLY annoyed me was the bill was presented to me and I was told they didn't take credit cards. i read the first reviewer's lengthy review and just had to try it myself. the eggplant parmesan was a generous portion and out of this world...$9.95. also had a side order of onion rings...$4.95 (small portion for the money and slightly "dark"). for desert had the homemade eclair...overall it was well worth the visit. the person i was with had the chicken parmesan and his portion was very large. 5 stars. read more
