Sylvia made the most delicious cupcakes and cake that I've ever had! I was super nervous messaging her because we were only 11 days out from our wedding date (after the wedding had to be moved up due to unforeseen circumstances) but she was able to get it done! She is incredibly well priced and I'm telling you right now - if you get any kind of cupcakes from her, you will not be able to only eat one! I probably had 3 myself in under 20 minutes! I couldn't recommend her more, not only for price but for quality. You won't find anyone better to bake for your special occasion! A picture of the wedding cake. It's not the best photo just a quick one I took on my phone but we have a nice photo that I'll post once all the wedding photos are edited!!

Due to a mix up with my sisters I ended up having to try and find a bakery to make a custom cake for my nephew's birthday 6 days prior to the party. I was looking for a fondant cake for 15 people. I reached out to about 10 bakeries, the majority telling me they couldn't help me which I completely understood. Sylvia returned my message on Wednesday agreeing to make a cake in the shape of a shoebox with a sneaker cutout made of fondant on the top, ready for pick up by Saturday at 1pm. She told me the price would be $155, which I thought was hefty but I really wanted to make my nephew happy so agreed to it. On Saturday the day of pick up at 11am, I text her to see what time they closed bc I thought maybe it would be easier to pick up the cake on my way to San Antonio. Turns out they were closing early at noon. I'm not sure when she intended to let me know since we agreed the cake would be ready for me at 1pm. I brushed it off and rushed over to pick up the cake. At pick up, the cake looked nothing like the photos I had shown her. The fondant work was sloppy and amateur, look at the corners in the photo below. I was completely disappointed but decided to let it pass thinking it was my fault for giving such short notice. After paying for the cake I was told they had no box to fit the cake! I was told to transport the cake home on the cardboard it came on with nothing else. This was the last straw for me! Please don't agree to make a cake if you're going to make half an effort towards making it and charge customers an astronomical price! Also if you know the customer is coming to pick up the cake it should be ready for transport and not given to the customer on a piece of cardboard. I'm all about supporting local businesses. My son's birthday cake in April was made from a local mom baker who did an amazing job. I will never be back to this place and those considering it, take my experience as a warning. Ps. The cake was very dry and sweet, hardly anyone ate it at the party.

Wedding cake falling apart!! Could not be served!

The wedding cake made here was a disaster. It literally could not be served as it fell apart when the caterer tried to cut it. You can see this in the photo. And, NO REFUND IS BEING OFFERED!

The Paninis are phenomenal! I love the Italiano and add pepperoni. The "whole" panini is quite big and very filling. The fruit is very fresh and a great side to your meal. When we were in we were able to speak to the owner and he let us know they are doing their own delivery now at a much better rate than the delivery apps. If you're within five miles it's $1.99! I went in just hoping they'd put a salad in a wrap and they were so accommodating! The manager (I think) even confirmed each ingredient and suggested skipping the croutons which I agreed with. The wrap really hit the spot! Only small complaint was that they panini pressed the wrap which led to some limp lettuce- I didn't know the wraps would be pressed. But this was a small issue and the wrap was satisfying. The husband got a sandwich and said it was good though the bread was cut a little unevenly. All in all I'd come back for the great service alone.

This time it was great, per usual. The coffee itself is boasted to be wood fired as the roasting method, and what I also love is their proprietary creamer called "moon juice". It's creamy and sweet and pairs very nicely with their coffee. This time I actually bought a bottle of the moon juice and will attempt to bring it home with me. For my drink, I ordered a triple moon shaker, which i was told by barista is that it's meant to be more coffee forward vs sweet. It's 3 shots espresso and moon milk, It was perfect. I also had a small breakfast burrito and a pop tart looking pastry. I liked everything. This Buda location is cute, next to an antique shop and some other local shops I didn't check out due to time constraints. Staff was friendly and speedy, it was a busy Saturday morning when I arrived. I didn't wait long and was able to enjoy my coffee on the patio seating out front and go about the rest of my day :)

We walked in, told the person at the front our name and were seated quickly. The restaurant is nice. It includes a little market in one section with various food items that you can purchase. There is also a seating area with couches near the market section. The restaurant has different sized tables for seating. Not long after being seated we were greeted by a waiter that did an excellent job taking care of us the entire time we were there. He took our drink order, gave us menus and some time to decide what we wanted. After a few minutes he brought us our waters and took our order. We ordered several items. El Olivo which is a garlic bread. It was okay. The bread was good. It was nice and warm and the garlic flavor was all on top. Whipped Feta which comes with grilled Naan and cucumber slices. The Naan was okay. It was a little cold and needed to be warmed up a little more for my liking but my kids ate it up. The cucumbers were fresh and crisp and the whipped feta was pretty good. It had a slight lemon flavor but not enough to where you could taste the lemon with every bite. Pork belly chicharron which had pork with avacado covered in a sauce. It came with tortilla chips. The tortilla chips were thick and crispy. Perfect for scooping up some of the pork belly. The pork belly was delicious. The sauce that covered it added flavor and the avacado was fresh. The Lamb chops came with Lamb, carrots and a puree. The lamb itself was excellent. It was cooked perfectly and was tender with each bite. The carrots were slightly sweet and the puree was soft. It was a good mix of different textures with each bite. The Truffle mac and cheese was a macaroni and cheese with chives and truffle flavor. This was very tasty. The macaroni was tender, the chives were spread out and added that slight onion flavor. The cheese was very flavorful. One of my kids ate almost all of this. Barbacoa Doughnuts which are mini doughnuts filled with barbacoa topped with a salsa. I don't really like barbacoa but I tried them and was pleasantly surprised. These were delicious. It was basically a soft and warm mini doughnut filled with flavorful barbacoa. The sauce on it added a slight spicy flavor. Patatas Bravas are potatoes with salsa and a garlic aioli sauce. These were very tasty. That salsa and aioli sauce are what gave this dish all of its yummy flavor. The potatoes had a crispy exterior with a soft interior. All of the ingredients mixed together made a very good side dish. One of my sons ordered the Dos Olivos Burger with Tater Tots. He said that the burger was okay. I tried it and I agreed. The tater tots were good. He ate those up with some ketchup. My other son ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwiches with everything on the side. He substituted a salad instead of the fries. He ate the salad up. He also ate the Fried chicken from the sandwich. He said it was good. He is not a fan of sesame seed bread so he opted not to eat the bun. I tried the red cabbage apple slaw that it comes with and it was okay. Lastly I ordered the Beet Salad which comes with beets, pears, and candied pecans. I don't usually eat beets but I wanted to try it. It was very good. The beet chunks were large and soft but not overly soft. The pears and the candied pecans added a crispier texture and the mixture of all of the ingredients along with the sauce that was on it made this a super sweet beet salad. Almost like a dessert. It was delicious. Overall the restaurant is a cool spot to visit. The market is a neat addition that adds to the ambiance of the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.

Luckily for us, his recommendation was spot on as La Ola is a great little ice cream shop with a large variety of different cures to whatever your sweet tooth desires. Parking is pretty accessible as it's in a small strip of stores and restaurants and there's ample outdoor seating as well to take in a nice summer night. The interior of the store is also nice and clean, making you feel like you're in a well run place from the moment you step in. We ordered a banana pudding scoop in a cone and a scoop of the Cookie Monster in a cup. The line here moves pretty quickly which is good so we didn't have to wait long from the moment we entered to the moment we began eating outside. The ice cream was delicious. The banana pudding tastes just as advertised with chunks of Nilla wafer throughout the bites, incredibly spot on. The Cookie Monster also tasted great, essentially a cookies and cream scoop dyed blue, but why not have a bit of fun with it? The whole experience was great and if ice cream isn't your thing they have numerous other options like shakes and ice pops to get you by. The only ding we can think of is that the trash outside was overrunning and looked like it hadn't been changed in hours. Nevertheless, we're very glad we stopped by here to get a sweet treat and would highly recommend it to anyone in the far South Austin/Kyle area looking to cool off on a summer night.
