I purchased a fairly sophisticated alarm system from Mitchell over two years ago. I initially…read morereached out to him because I wanted more than the "2 doors and 1 motion detector" intro package offered by the national chains. Mitchell came to my home and we spent hours designing a system including not only all of the typical stuff such as door and window sensors and motion detectors, but also glass break monitors and water alarms for the laundry room and sump pump areas. Mitchell did not "sell" any of this stuff to me. I asked for it and we designed an excellent system together. The reason that I am writing the review today is because this is the first time that I have spoken to Mitchell in over two years. I received an alert on my control pad that a battery was low and I didn't know which device needed the new battery. I called Mitchell on his cell phone. He picked up on the second ring. I had the battery in a drawer and he identified the device and walked me through the battery change over the phone. This tells you a couple of things: 1. The equipment that Mitchell sold to me over 2 years ago works without issue. I literally have had not spoken to him in over 2 years because I have NEVER had a problem. My big problem today was that I needed a new battery. I'm OK with that. 2. Mitchell answers his phone. He is extremely responsive and knowledgeable. Mitchell is a good guy. He knows what he is doing and he sells good stuff. I recommend him without hesitation.

He suggested we troubleshoot over the phone before sending a technician to my house. Since the equipment is old, he had to send a technician after all. While I was waiting for the technician to arrive, I fiddled with the settings and ended up resolving the issue on my own. What really stood out to me was the honesty--both Mitchell and the technician could have easily said I needed new equipment or upgrade or unnecessary work, but instead they were supportive and completely upfront. Very fair, trustworthy, and refreshing to deal with a company that operates with integrity. Highly recommend for your security needs!

However, the company nickeled and dimed me; the final bill was more than their original quote. They did warn me that there was a $45 charge for an estimate which I thought was alot, but needed the work done. The "estimate" amounted to one minute, looking at the old storm door. To offset our disappointment, he said, I can replace it now. Then another charge for a disposal fee. The work is good, but the cost needed to be more transparent and was higher than originally quoted.

It took a couple hours, and a couple hundred dollars, to make two chip keys and one non-chip key. Overall, Amity seemed efficient and professional. Terry was great to work with. He came over to evaluate my property, explained how everything works,…read moretypes of equipment, how the installation would go, and answered any questions I had. I liked that he was very honest, he tells you what he thinks would work best for your situation and doesn't try to just sell you on his most expensive equipment. I had 7 security cameras installed and I felt that the price of the package Terry provided was reasonable. On the day of the install, Terry and Steve worked quickly and efficiently, it was important to me that the install was clean and discrete. They stayed very late into the night to make sure the job was finished in one day. I was very happy with the end result and would definitely recommend them.

At first I thought maybe it was something simple since I'm not very tech savvy but after the guy came I realized there was some damage but the IT guy was super knowledgeable. I was very happy I called them since they were fast, professional and got my problem solved.

I had a WiFi network installed by professionals that never worked well and after multiple visits…read morefrom them, many of them where they charged me, I just got so frustrated I called Smart Start Networks. They were amazing. They evaluated my current system, which is also integrated into an AV system, wrote up a proposal which I accepted. The system they installed is amazing. I have never had as good a WiFi system in terms of strength of signal, speed and reliability. As important, this Smart Start does what they say they will do without any surprises. They call when they say they will call, show up for appointments on time and really back up their services. In my case there has been nothing to do, since their system is working perfectly, but Smart Start Network has followed up a couple of times in the first 30 days after installation to make sure I was 100% satisfied. If you have a WiFi system you want installed, or have an existing system you would like upgraded I would highly recommend Smart Start Network. Lastly, Phil was the senior technician on my job and was phenomenal. Gina works in the office and is fantastic as well. This is my first Yelp review. I felt compelled to endorse this company because they are a breath of fresh air in NYC, where quality of product and service are often hard to find!

When my front desk asked for a call back number and name so she can forward it to me the rep on the phone laughed and hung up(yes this is all recorded) When I called them back to find out what happened the rep then forgot to put it on hold and said "do you want to deal with these indians" and hung up the phone on me. I called back and now a gentleman picked up and said " i'll transfer you to the manger" and hangs up. I called again and forgets again to put me on hold and says "I wasnt suppose to pick up his phone i'm transferring it don't pick up" then proceeds to transfer me and the lady who initially made the derogatory statements picked up and says "oh f*** I wasnt suppose to pick up" and hung up I then called again and the same guy picked up and says "I didn't hang up I was transferring you to the owner" and I said then why all the derogatory statements and I then proceeded to tell him that I will send all the recordings to my attorney and he said his calls are also recorded. Just to put it out there I AM NOT INDIAN. I recommend not using them at all (this is not the first time i'm having an issue with them) and I will be canceling my account with them asap and recommend any minority owned companies to do the same due to Associated Security Corporation being a company that only caters and respects a majority race.
