Way to go Guhde! The process was very involved, one of those where I thought it could not be done! We could hardly wait to get rid of the carpeting and love my LVT floors, throughout the whole house gives many compliments from guests. Gutting the kitchen, the master bath and guest bath and turning them into my inspiration and vision was the best thing we did! Believe me they were horrible before the Reno! The entire Guhde staff were very responsible and professional to work with. as we wanted a modern farmhouse look and thank you Jillian for understanding my inspiration that I wanted my kitchen to be inspired by my great grandmother's 100 year old kitchen. Thank goodness the 80/90's garden tub turned into a spa like walk in shower-double sinks and more cabinet space. The guest bath with the soaker tub, wide tile, glass splash wall, the old fashioned look vanity and herringbone stone floor are great! We had a lot of work done by Guhde this past year. Shower tear out and tile install, whole house carpet (4 bedrooms, hallway and stairs), hardwood floors in three rooms, and everything went smooth. The contractors were so easy to communicate with and Shawn kept us informed on their schedules, plus they showed up on time. We couldn't be happier. read more

We had a tile shower installed while building a house and noticed that it was leaking and causing damage to the walls and flooring. We reached out and it took them months to come out and look at it. They did quick fix that didn't solve the issue. There were a number of issues with the installation, the grout was soft and crumbling, caulk wasn't done in the right locations, water proofing wasn't done correctly, etc. The owner (Mike Guhde) eventually came out and we were hoping he would resolve the issue. But he didn't see a problem with the installation and suggested another quick fix. We talked to our neighbors who also had tile showers installed and they were experiencing similar issues with leaks and damaged base boards. We decided it was best to have them remove the tile completely and we went with a different shower. read more

Working with Guhde Flooring from beginning to end was an absolute nightmare. When we first ordered they said they couldn't put us on the schedule until the carpet came in, 5 weeks in I called and asked if we could at least have a date on when they would be able to come out. Every single time we called we would get the run-around that Mike wasn't in the office and that they need him to be the one to put us on the schedule. They then gave us a timeline of 10-12 weeks out. After calling half a dozen times without ANY resolution, we finally got a response that they could put us on the schedule on week 13. Finally, they came out to install it and told us that they would have to glue the nail strips down and that would be another few days for the glue to dry (I found out later this wasn't true) but to call Shawn or Tori and that they would be able to come back in 3-4 days. I called and of course, I was told that Mike wasn't in the office and he wouldn't be able to be the one to put us on the schedule and that "the schedule is jam-packed so need to figure out where we can add you back in". Didn't hear back for another two weeks so finally hired someone else to install it. Absolutely ridiculous. It's fine to be behind schedule, but at least respect your customers and communicate with them instead of leaving them in the dark. Stay away from this company, seriously don't give them a dime. read more

I don't normally write reviews. However, I'm making an exception in this case and submitting this review as a warning to others. In October, 2020 we had LVT plank flooring installed by Guhde Flooring, at a cost of over $8,000. A portion of the old floor where the LVT was to be installed, was made to look like tile with grout lines. It was decided that this area needed to be leveled before the LVT was installed. Initially, the LVT looked great - until we started walking on it. Less than a year later (August, 2021) we noticed a number of lumps and bumps in the flooring, primarily in the area that was leveled. Some of these lumps actually caused the planks to separate. I called Guhde about the issues. They came out and after checking the floor agreed that some repairs should be made. However, the number of repairs was limited by the amount of left over flooring we had, because the flooring pattern had been discontinued. Repairs were made in January, 2022. The two installers who came out to make the repairs noted that the flooring I selected was "thin". They seemed to imply the poor result of the initial installation was due to the flooring I selected, rather than the method used to level the floor. During the repair process they removed the old planks and scraped the leveling compound smooth, as they should have done at the time of the initial installation. In one area they found some staples under the LVT on top of the leveling compound causing cracks in the LVT. Those staples should have been seen and removed at the time of the initial installation. When they were leaving after making the repairs, one of the installers said "see you in 6 months". This led me to believe that he knew the problem would continue. It also confirmed my belief that the leveling showed a lack of skill and was done in a haphazard manner. Now, 2 years after the original installation, the area that was supposed to be "leveled" continues to develop new bumps. The more we walk on the floor the more bumps appear, and we are noticing more LVT planks separating. It appears the installer was right. The more time that passes the worse the issue becomes. Good customer service and making things right counts. We are now in the process of selecting new carpeting for our entire home. Obviously, we will not be using Guhde Flooring for this large project. read more

After paying more than $10,000 to Guhde Flooring for carpet and padding for our 1385 sq. ft. condo in June of 2021, the problems began on installation day, when a 3 1/2 foot length of carpet was pieced in our hallway. I called Mike Gudhe and it took him until Oct 2021 to come to see it and trim the fibers, it still looks like a repair in our new carpet. Then a seam opened up across the living room in December 2021 and I was told repairs are 12-14 weeks out! Mike finally showed up in March and said he had a specialist who could fix it. His specialist came on June 3 2022. He said nothing could be done and the carpet would have to be replaced (all of it since it was continuous throughout) and that he felt Mike would do the right thing. After numerous calls and emails, being told Mike was there until the counter girl (who was routinely rude and sarcastic) found out it was me, and then oops, he just left. I asked the expert if it could get worse and he said he did not know. On June 25 2022 Mike told me he exhausted all options and had been out numerous times about this seam. I guess he calls once "numerus times". He did absolutely Nothing, not one thing. I reported this to the Better Business Bureau who contacted Guhde Flooring who said they have "done our due diligence to inspect and resolve her concerns." and they were out on "multiple occasions" Please keep this in mind should you be considering new carpet. I made it clear from the beginning I did not want the carpet replaced, when I saw that Guhde Flooring's position was this was an acceptable job and no customer service what so ever, I requested a small portion of my payment be refunded. They told the Better Business Bureau they would not do that. Their finished product and lack of customer service says it all. It took about a year from installation to the Better Business Bureau's involvement to be done. There are 3 reviews, all one star. I wish I could give no stars at all. read more

When we decided to remodel our master bath in late 2017, we stopped at Guhde Flooring on Mentor Avenue. It was our first time dealing with them. The three girls in the showroom , Jacka, Katie, and Nicki, were a tremendous help in choosing the best type of flooring, and coordinating colors with new cabinets, countertop, and fixtures. We finally chose the luxury vinyl tile (LVT), and are completely satisfied with the product and the install. We had already gutted the bathroom ourselves and were pleased that Guhde could take on the whole project to install the flooring, the cabinets, the counter tops, the plumbing, and the finish carpentry. They were even able to get and install a custom wood panel for the front of our whirlpool tub that was an exact match to the bathroom cabinets. We were not looking forward to hiring several different trades to complete this project. It was much easier to coordinate with one person than trying to coordinate with five different people. As it turned out, we also decided to re-carpet the whole house. All of their installers did an absolutely professional and beautiful job. We would highly recommend Guhde to anyone. read more

I would not recomend this business for your flooring. My tile flooring was started with a full piece in one corner of the room, instead of being centered, which gives the room an unbalanced look. (Guhde claims that 99% of the rooms that they install tile in are done this way & that they only center tile in square rooms.) They never mentioned this to me before the fact. I have warped tile, which makes the baseboard up from the floor when the mitered side is matched up. I have tile over the bottom of my hot water tank, which was covered up with a piece of mesh-like material being wraped around the bottom of the tank. I have tile that is cut to the back door trim piece, instead of being under the trim piece. The installer did not undercut the hallway door, but cut the tile around it instead. There are pieces of tile with the same design, in the same direction next to each other. Guhde did not give me a copy of the contract & is now claiming that I was supposed to tell the installer that I wanted the flooring centered. (From the diagram that they submitted to the BBB, which shows their version of centered tile, even if I would have asked the installer to center the tile, it still would not have been done the correct way.) Additionally the receipt that they gave me did not show everything that we were being charged for. The receipt only shows that we were being charged for the material and the installation of the tile and one carpet strip. (If we wouldn't have asked if they were charging us for moving the washer & dryer, we would have ended up paying $60 more for moving them ourself.) They refuse to actually fix anything to be the way it was supposed to be done to start with & they haven't returned my money, so that I can have the floor done the correct way by someone else. They called and made an offer to redo the flooring, but apparently it was only a "genuine offer" if the answer would have been "no". I left a phone message and sent an email stating that I would need to meet with them to discuss it first & I haven't heard anything back from them since. (It was Nov. 20th when they called and made the offer.) read more
