Lovely staff in the city where it was born. This is one of the finer Gucci outposts in the world. Large selection. I am really only interested in shoes, and they have a wide variety. All the staples in may colors. You'd be crazy to buy Gucci outside of Italy considering the pricing. read more

I was in Firenze for 7 days. i was in the Gucci store 5 of the 7 days purchasing items. The staff were friendly, and accommodating. Also they had a wide selection. Lastly, they were out of an item snd they had it shipped from Paris France to the Firenze store as i was there for a week. What an experience. read more

The gentleman who ended up helping us was phenomenal - friendly and helpful. The woman who initially helped when we walked in was not. We were looking for a specific belt the store did not have. She claimed there was no other Gucci in Florence and that the closest one was an hour away, and kept recommending alternative options. The first Gucci store! I'm so glad I was able to stop by and check where it all happened... The prices here are cheaper than in US and they have almost everything you can think of! I wanted a Gucci bag for the longest time and I was so glad they had the one I wanted! The sales rep were all professional and they handled my bag with much care :) When we left, it was raining so they made sure to put a clear plastic bag outside of their bag to prevent it from getting wet. read more

Randomly stopped in the Gucci store and had no idea this was the first Gucci store in the world! This shop is so beautiful and very colorful. I felt like I was in a maze because there were other rooms tucked away. I was curious about the disco bag and wanted to see it in person. This is where it all began. First Gucci store in the world. I must say probably the biggest Gucci boutique I have ever been to. It has 2 stories and an amazing selection. All the items and sizes were in stock and everyone was friendly and humble with a nice sense of humor. I was not dressed up and I did not feel like I was given any less attention or worse service than people walking around in Van Cleef and Chopard. From what I understand they just renovated the store. What a HUGE store with tons of history and beautiful pieces. I believe there are three floors of Gucci Heaven. If you LOVE Gucci visiting this place is a MUST! Very nice shopping experience. But if you are going to get a tax refund at the Venice airport from a Gucci Florence purchase before returning home, you have to go to the Exact Change Kiosk, which is contracted with Premier Tax Free, which Gucci Florence contracted with. Exact change takes a really hefty cut using a poor exchange rate and these fees (see photos). Market exchange rate today: 1 euro = 1.17 dollars. This stores discriminates Asian and non-white. I have shopped in other Gucci stores in Beverly Hills and in New York. So when I was in Florence I wanted to get a pink wallet to match my purse. I understand that if some employees are at lunch they try to limit the people in the store and would close the door. So I was waiting outside when three White clients came up. All of a sudden the door man opens the door and let these people in and closed the door again when I tried to get in. This is not the store I enjoy to shop at. Their loss not mine! read more

Historic and elegant. We recently traveled to Italy and we wanted to get special gifts for our young adult sons. While in Florence - we tried the "original" Gucci store (and museum) to look at wallets. We had an excellent sales rep, Greta, help us find the best options. We appreciated how easily the sale went (got our VAT back easily at the airport) and how pleasant it is to shop at Gucci. Elegant but not judgmental or stuffy. We are generally more maxamistas but felt right at home at Gucci. Our boys were both extremely happy with their wallets. read more

Walked in here looking for a specific item to buy. No sales associate cared to ask if I had been helped or told me that they would help me, I was basically invisible to everyone in the store. It was a weekday afternoon, but almost every sales associate was busy helping someone. The two that didn't look busy didn't seem to want to help me out. After 10 minutes of wandering around looking for help, I had to flag someone down and ask if they had the item I wanted. Once a sales associate showed me the item and started helping me, the checkout process was standard. However, the associate had to run my credit card in another room--she brought back my receipt and VAT refund form, but not my credit card. Good thing I double checked to see if I had my card, she had to run to the other room and grab it for me. The store has a large selection of things, but don't expect to get above average customer service. Prices are the same in all Gucci stores across Italy. read more
