I have bought some of the best jackets in the world from all of the most famous designers but Miriko and his team design and construct the best jackets in my closet. If anyone asks me who makes the best jackets, out of any designer/Brand, I always say this Atelier. Most of the leather stores in Florence are basic designs that do not fit the body well. They are made out of standard or substandard materials with basic construction. They're completely different. They have the best materials, and they use the best techniques. They do the best quality in exotic materials that most people do not have the experience to handle different leathers. I have been looking for a leather jacket for a long time and knew I'd have to get it done in Florence. We wandered into this small shop on a scorching hot day in July - tough weather to try on leather. The salesman was friendly - perhaps a bit slick, but we understood he was trying to make a sale. We talked him down a little on the price, but 700 euro was still more than I wanted to spend. I pulled the trigger. After returning home to the US, I didn't hear from the shop. I could have reached out but waited. About 6 weeks later, I received a note from them and the jacket arrived the following week as we'd agreed. I was also pretty sure I wouldn't get the VAT refund they promised to file for. They came through there as well. Atelier Classe came thru on this once-in-a-lifetime purchase. It's a gorgeous jacket, and they took care with the measurements so the fit is just want I expected. You might save a few hundred by going to the leather school nearby, but I'm not sure you'd get the quality or selection. Consider going to both the school and this shop before putting your money down. read more

We've purchased jackets, coats, vests and other items that he sells in his shop a few doors away. Mirko is great to work with...he always comes through with top quality leathers and craftsmanship. I am so happy with my purchase here, and I've read nothing but good things online as well. I went to Florence as part of a post-university Europe trip, and REALLY wanted to buy a high-quality leather jacket. I was greeted by the owner Mirko, who was extremely helpful and not pushy at all. I tried on quite a few jackets, then had it narrowed down to two and had a bit of a hard time deciding. Because he makes all of the jackets by hand and can custom make jackets, he offered to change the finish of the leather and make other alterations that I would like. He also let me use his landline and wifi to text and call my mom (I still can't make decisions without her) and send her pictures. He waited patiently through all of this, then I decided to get the jacket. He shortened the sleeves and took the bottom of the jacket in a bit in just 30 minutes and didn't charge me for it. He also sold it to me for about half of the ticket price. He had me try it on before he shipped it for me to make sure I was happy with it. It fit like a glove! I would HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone who wants leather goods. My brother bought two wallets there, and their shoes looked really nice too! read more

My husband and I spent 3 days in Florence in March of 2014. We were looking to buy leather jackets while in Florence so we looked at a lot of stores for options. By the 3rd day, we still hadn't found what we were looking for so we asked the hotel concierge for quality leather store suggestions. That is how we ended up at Mirko Michele's store. Wow!! WHAT A SELECTION!! His coats had designs we hadn't seen before and fit better than any others we had tried on until that point. Even though we got to Mirko's store around closing time, he kept the store open for an extra hour and half to give us enough time to look around - we were leaving Florence early the next day. He was extremely kind and patiently answered all the questions we had. I'm very petite and can hardly ever find anything that fits me right, but this was no challenge for Mirko's store. If anything, we took that long because I could not decide which jacket to buy. In the end, I walked away with a gorgeous light grey piece that fits me perfectly. Mirko also has another store nearby that sells leather shoes and purses, though we didn't spend much time there. Visiting "Atelier Classe" and getting to meet Mirko made our Florence experience extra special. I've been living in NYC for the past couple of years and still haven't seen leather jackets that nice here. Atelier Classe is amazing! The owner Mirko really cares about his work and wants to make sure the customer is always happy. So happy that when I ordered my jacket he made it around 3 times. And he is selling the others in his shop as well. This shop is amazing! Not only are the staff super friendly and helpful and treat you just as friends, but Mirko treats you as family as well. I was looking for a unique leather jacket, something I have not found in states but something I knew I needed from italy. Mirko does custom orders for a great price! I am a fashion designer one could say and I have a leather business myself, so I decided to design my own jacket and see if he could make it for me! I designed a beautiful jacket, and one that he had never made before! He was excited to make someone else's design. The jacket was made in about a week, because I told him to take his time and it turned out beautifully. Much better than work I could have done. Sizing was perfect, and I have gotten around 5 people now wanting to order the same or a jacket from Mirko! He really is fantastic, he knows his stuff.
