I went in thinking I would find good quality clothes, however, I was let down by most of the pieces they had. I went in to look at a couple of blouses and would have waited to try them on but the fitting rooms were a waste of time. All of them with more than 30min wait time and when you go in, you see tags everywhere and clothing that was left behind. When trying to navigate the store, I felt a bit claustrophobic which isn't good when you're already dealing with crowds all over the city with passerby people such as myself and my family. Once I was able to try them on, I felt itchy all over so I decided not to make any purchases and walked out. I think this is the smallest H&M I've ever visited. Small as it may be, it served its purpose for us when we stopped in at the beginning of June. My husband wanted to buy some thinner shirts. The heat in Florence was no match for the polo's he packed. We took the stairs to the men's department on the second floor and found several very inexpensive options. He picked out three shirts and I believe the cost was only about $25 USD. The shirts served their purpose of cooler clothing when in Florence, and he's been wearing them at home as well, so I guess for the cost they were a good buy. read more

Firenze's H&M in a few words, is 4 stories of underwhelming clothes made in China. And Pakistan, Turkey, you get it. Simply put, you get what you pay for. Before I even dwell into the actual design of the clothing, I want to point out the quality and craftsmanship of the garments. Or lack thereof in this case. High volume, cheap labor, low prices, bad quality. I can picture the workers at the warehouse somewhere in China, the snoozy quality control department lady going "Oh theres a thread hanging in this shirt. I should cut it.... whooo cares this retails at $4, shit *i'm* getting paid 2 cents an hour. Screw it. Next." We all know when you pay so little for clothes, quality is always sacrificed. Their V neck shirts look more like a cursive V. The garment labor makes you think the workers who sewed this stuff were daydreaming of PSY while sewing, because the seams are unfinished and my shirt came apart before I even wore it. Also bad is the quality of the fabrics. Cheap knits that will get holes overtime, basic poly's that lose elasticity after a few wears. I didn't inspect the silks or rayons though I did see some better fabrics such as cashmere and angora (for 40-50 a piece) to throw a couple curve balls. Don't be fooled though, it was 20% cashmere and 80% poly, but it's better than nothing if you're into that. There are many varied styles and collections for the more varied basic styles, just like other H&M's (including the ones in the east coast and California). I just did not see anything that caught my attention, in the "i must buy this!" sense. Accessories are abundant, but again there wasn't anything too cute to not pass on. Jewelry not so thrilling either. There were some fun shoes, worth eyeing. Make up... I wouldn't put that on my face if I got paid to, lip gloss at the most. Male selection was of course smaller but still varied. My bf got a couple shirts that I love. Too bad I couldn't find anything good for me. Usually I have a hard time walking out of an H&M without buying anything and spending at least 50. The only thing I bought was a tank top, to wear under my winter shirts. Does that count? Well, I should l say relatively cheap, sometimes I look at the quality of the material and I think hmmm, €19.95, eh .. I wouldn't pay even €9.95 for this. Anyway, on the whole I enjoy shopping at H&M because they offer trendy fashions that are accessible to a wide range of people. This H&M is pretty standard with a level of men's clothes, two levels of women's clothes and accessories. NO children's section here. Now the only reason I did not give this H&M location a standard 3 stars, is this . . . It really smells ! Literally. 90% of the time I walk in the door it smells like a sewer. It got to the point where I would walk in, then walk right out. I have noticed this in a few other stores in this area (ZARA is almost worse) specially on the underground level. So yeah, Let's get the sewer pipes fixed, OK !!? Please, so we can shop in harmony? j/k. But really get it fixed. I am not sure whose responsibility it is to fix it, H&M, the city of Florence? who? If I had to guess, it probably would be such a massive project, no one wants to spend money on it. . . . yet So that's that. However, the smell IS tolerable to a lot of people. You know how I know this? Because H&M is always PACKED with people. I think you get used to it after awhile (the smell, not the people). Best H&M that I've been to in the world...and I don't even like H&M haha... Now, if you compare H&M in North America and H&M in Europe, the selection in the Europeans shops are much better...of course because it's a Swedish company! They have quite a few items that can not be found in stores overseas, and also a few of the things that I found, I did see when I went back to Canada, which was quite a while after I went to the one in Firenze. It goes to show that North American stores, A) don't receive all the stock that their European counterparts do and B) they get their stock much later. The usual H&M frenzy, but in a much more charming setting. 2 floors of madness, and not enough changing rooms, but oh well! read more

This location was decent however it had an interesting smell to it. I couldn't pin point what it was but it wasn't bad enough to deter me from shopping. I was inside for 40 minutes. They have plenty to look at and the price is moderate. The staff was somewhat friendly, kind of a hit or miss. They spoke enough english to communicate and try on clothes and to check out. read more

I usually love H&M, and living in Florence for 6 months I SO wanted to shop here. But the smell in this particular branch is so repulsive I can't get more than 10 feet into the store before I run back out, gagging. It smells like a rotting bag of old oysters. I've checked back over the past three months and it's always the same--it seriously needs to be dealt with. read more

I liked that the store was open on Sunday at 7:30pm when other shops around it were closed already. I thought putting the men's clothing area in the very top so they could look down on the women's area was smart. My guy friend was able to see I was still shopping and didn't bother me, so I liked that. The dressing room was down some stairs and that revealed a couple more floors of women's stuff to buy. The girls wanted more shopping. I had no idea why we shopped at this store. There is at least one H&M in every major Texas city. There was something funky about this store. As soon as you walk up to the opened doors, you notice an awful smell. It might be the A/C system because the store was warm. The girls found something they liked at good prices ( probably available back at the states at the same prices) and brought them. Now our luggages are getting heavier. There are a lot of good deals to be had and the store certainly has potential with its size and products. That being said, there are a few significant issues. First, is the already mentioned sewer smell. It is an unpleasant entry to the store and has forced me to leave. Second, is the staff. This stems from a particularly rude security guard. The store says they close at 8:30pm, so I decided to stop in at 7:00pm, thinking I had plenty of time to walk around. I instead get a hand put on me at the door and pushed back with him telling me they're closed. I understand a lot of places don't keep to their open/close times here, but he should have been standing outside, or they could have simply put up a sign. Besides that worker, I've had others push past me to rehang items on racks and general poor practice inside. A girl fell down the stairs the other day and had trouble getting up. Three workers just watched her and would walk away when her friends were asking for help. Eventually, they picked her up together and got her to the elevator. The third issue with the store is space. You find yourself trapped by racks and other people constantly and the store itself is massive. They leave very little room to explore and you find yourself putting items back and saying "forget it." They could certainly utilize their space better. I've been to stores smaller than this that left more space and still showed hundreds of items. The deals are good, but you can find the same styles in less smelly, same priced, and more friendly stores. read more
