I needed a temporary storage solution to bridge the gap between apartment rentals for my daughter. Javon provided great service over the phone- we live 5 hours away from Pittsburgh. When we arrived at the location, he took us on a tour showing us where our unit was located. Highly recommend this location for your storage needs. Outstanding service. Great property! read more

Update on my last review! I am SO impressed with Guardian Storage. This has been a very hectic time in my life since my parents are downsizing from a 3 bedroom house (of 20+ years) to an apartment downtown. Since my mom felt so safe when she visited my storage unit, she decided that's where her and my dad would get one. I called before going to reserve a 5x10 unit that was climate and humidity controlled for my parents. They knew they would be storing old photo albums and keepsakes that were temperature sensitive. Brittany at Guardian storage is AMAZING! I made an appointment with her over the phone for my mom to go in and sign the lease and for us to rent a truck. She made everything so simple when we arrived. It only costs $20 to rent the truck to move all your things from your house to the storage unit. Brittany showed us how to type in your code to get in and out of the building, and how to get to the loading dock. Backing the full truck into the loading dock during construction in the Strip District was my biggest accomplishment of the day! Haha! Brittany also showed us how to unlatch the back of the truck and open it up. She was super knowledgeable and patient. I have been back to my storage unit and my parents storage unit more times this week than most people probably go in a month, but it is just so convenient! I can't recommend it enough. read more

Nice facility. Good location. Property manager Javon is great. Super helpful and accommodating.

Javon the manager was wonderful getting us all setup with a great unit. Facility is much cleaner than every self storage in the area. The amenities are above and beyond! read more

Javon was awesome and the service was 1st class. Great value. Helpful through the whole process.

Fast and friendly to book. I wish I had used Centre Ave for storage instead of Millvale (very close to each other) because my movers only had a 26' truck. We had planned on using Guardian's truck that day, but it went into the shop. The driver could not get the big truck around the tight alleys at Millvale to use the loading dock, so we had to move everything on carts to the lift and then up and around, so it took a lot longer than it should have. If you have a big truck, I would avoid Millvale. The units themselves are immaculately clean and secure. It would be nice to have lights on timers or those stick up, motion activated LED lights you can get at any major retailer in there to see. read more

Predatory Business Practices at Guardian Storage. They raise the rent substantially without any notice. They know their tenants will be upset about this, so the don't answer their phones or allow you to leave a voice mail. I sent them an email regarding the unauthorized charges on my credit card and the manager basically told me to get lost. read more

I had an issue with Guardian STORAGE in the strip district last week reserved and payed for a truck and 10x10 storage unit .after the manager took my cash ,was told too bad we don't have a truck for you or the size storage unit requested ,When I ask to call someone at corporate was told they didn't have the phone # but he would have his boss call me ,someone did call wasn't a satisfying experience, after I did find corporates phone # called numerous times,Friday August 26,2022 this is the anniversary of my mother's death So I wasn't in a good mood, but when I received a call at home from a blocked number Sat.5:30 pm.and was basically threatened not to keep calling Corporate,WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHINGx read more

This Guardian Storage is located in a nice warehouse with great hardwood floors. If they converted it to apartments I would try to rent there! I had a great experience with short term storage here. Beautiful, well-heated facility. Well-trained and courteous staff. Secure, covered loading dock. They even had a "free" truck (costs like $20 for the insurance) for moving day. Really amazing experience. Also this place has windows! You do not feel like you are in a Super Max prison while you are there! Have had stuff in storage at a Public Storage in Maryland for a few years. Decent facility but this blows that place away. Located in the strip district. read more

Despite its location in the heart of the Strip District, the Guardian Self Storage here actually has ample (and free!) parking. The office staff are friendly and extremely helpful / courteous whenever you have any questions or problems. I never had a storage unit before and wasn't sure what I was getting into, but they walked me through all of the details and explained line by line what I was paying for. I especially like the indoor loading docks and heated / air conditioned hallways. Moving your stuff is always so hard - they at least attempt to make is somewhat easier. In addition to the storage unit, you have access to a truck that you can use whenever it's available. They say it's 'free', but it actually will cost about $21 for insurance or something (plus the cost of gas) to use. My only criticism is that you can't take it for more than something like 20 miles round trip which posed as a problem for me considering that I had a bunch of stuff at my parents which is further than that. That would be my only caveat about Guardian. Otherwise, the storage facilities are excellent. read more

Convenient, clean and friendly office staff. Best benefit is use of loaner trucks - just pay the insurance ! read more

Since moving from a 3 bed room town home with a grage to a downtown apartment, we needed to find a place for our "other " stuff that wouldn't fit into the apartment. Guardian was a perfect fit, the free use of a truck to move every thing we wanted to store to their facility - and best of all, the cleanest warehouse I have ever seen. Even the rest rooms are better than you will see in nice restaurants! This is a clean, modern facility - and the management team is very helpful and courteous. I feel that our items in storage are safe & secure. read more

I had to store my stuff here about a year and a half after I finished school. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for secure storage. Several nice benefits to this place. -no damage to my items even in no-climate storage -Nice clean Bathrooms and hallways -bright inside with plenty of light -Many Shopping carts, mattress dollies, platform dollies to move belongings -Dock with a lift Brittany was also great in the front office. read more

The storage space and common areas are always clean. I always feel content with the safety of my belongings. The staff is always friendly and helpful. read more

Guardian was great during the move in process and the staff was very helpful. However, and this is a big one, they will completely lie to you when it comes to moving out to keep your money. When I started the lease they said that 30 days notice was all I needed to do to cancel. 40 days prior to my last day I sent them in a fax which I then called to confirm had arrived and was told that because I pre pay each month, and was going to end mid month, to just come in on my last day and they would refund any unused portion of the monthly rent. When I called to get the half month refund I was told that they do not offer any refunds so if you "use even 1 minute of time in a month you have to pay for the whole thing". I would not recommend this to anyone, avoid them at all costs and if you have to use them, do not setup auto bill pay so you can give them the correct amount when leaving. read more

Rented a unit for my son and his friend who are at Carnegie Mellon. I live in Virginia, so I had to do everything over the phone. I spoke to Deb who was amazing. We did it all by phone and email, And she was really really helpful and responsive in dealing with our rather complicated logistics. The unit was clean, safe and exactly as promised and the price was pretty reasonable for a short term rental. We will come back here every year to do their summer storage. read more

The 5 star reviews speak for themselves!! I couldn't be happier with the service that comes from a good-natured, friendly, and extremely helpful staff. After recently upgrading to a larger unit, I wasn't surprised in the least when they offered to help with the transition. The helpfulness and kindness is just part of what Guardian stands for, and it speaks volumes about what it means to do good business. I frequent the storage space at least twice a week and I have never encountered any problems. It's in a great location, it's extremely well kept, and the temperature controlled unit is essential for our business. I gladly recommend this facility to anyone in need. read more

I have had a very good experience with my storage unit at this location. They have convenient hours and friendly people. Every time I have interacted with them, they have been EXTREMELY accommodating. I cannot recommend this facility high enough. read more

Guardian Self-Storage is the best of the best. Their staff is unbelievably helpful and pleasant on the business end. The facility itself is beyond what you would expect in a storage facility. It's beautiful - very clean, temperature controlled, gorgeous floors, sunny and bright (for Pittsburgh - who would think of windows?), use of their truck - such amenities. Never a problem getting in or out. I have recommended Guardian to many friends and will continue to do so. read more
