They installed a new A/C and heater. 6 months later the duct comes off the heater. Because they stretched it to its max and didn't support the duct. The new heater output was much higher than the original and the 12 inch duct should have been supported. When I called they said it was our problem since it was original ductwork. All it needed was a 90 degree elbow and support for the ductwork but they didn't take the time to do the work properly. read more

I received word that the air conditioner was not working in an Irvine condo unit on Friday afternoon, July 14, 2023. Called Guaranteed Quality HVAC and an appointment to do the service on both the air conditioner and furnace was set for Sunday morning. At inspection, it was discovered that there were multiple leaks on both the air conditioner which was approximately 29 years old and the furnace + duct work which was 35 years old. Everything needed to be replaced. Guaranteed Quality Heating and Air took care and covered the floors with tarps and personal property with plastic wrap in the rooms which were in the path to the attic. They wore masks. They worked hard for 11 hours installing a new furnace in the attic, new duct work, thermostat, and a new air conditioner on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Everything is now working! read more

I recently contacted GQ Heating and Air to service the heat pump in my rental condo. My mom bought an air conditioner from them and had good luck with it and the yearly service, so they came well recommended. When they came to service the unit, they discovered that the duct work that should have been replaced when I bought the unit was in poor condition and recommended that I have it replaced. Joe O. did the installation of the duct work. During the installation a loose 2x4 caused a bag that was placed on the drywall to fall through the ceiling to the floor below. Joe did not cause the loose 2x4 but he went above and beyond what I expected by nailing down the 2x4 and taking care of as much as he could to fix everything. Armando came out today to finish fixing the drywall. My tenants reported to me: "It looks amazing! He just finished. Everything looks perfect." About the performance of the new ducts they said: "On a positive note, the air is already circulating so much better! Feeling it in all rooms." Sent a request on Yelp for quotes on an AC diagnostic and GQ was one of the first companies to respond. They offered me a discount as a new customer and were in constant communication to get someone out to service my AC as soon as possible. During this insane heat wave, they were swamped but after speaking with James and their dispatch, they got someone out the next day! Chris came to our place and performed a whole diagnostic on our system with recommendations. Cannot thank Rick & Christopher enough! Previously installed a new condenser and coil the month prior buy a different company. Had numerous issues after including condenser blowing warm air and a persistently very loud fan noise and the previous company would not come out for the noise alone citing it was normal. He scheduled a diagnostic for the following day and Christopher diagnosed and fixed the issue in less than an hour. We had no AC in our office and all 3 units were pouring out hot air instead of cool air during a hot day and our server room was overheating. They came within 2 hours and their technician Chris powered through and kept at it until he resolved the issue. We needed one more part and he came back the next day as promised to do the install. Posing as the contractor who originally installed the HVAC system that was replaced in late 2018. I own the property and rent it to an elder couple who led to believe that Guaranteed Quality Heating were there to check up the maintenance of the system. I was contacted by the tenants and told them to go ahead and let it be checked. The bill that I am now responsible for also indicated a 4k of "potential problems" that MAY in the near future. I cannot believe a 5-1/2-year-old system would need that much repair. I am livid because I am now on the hook for a maintenance that was performed under duplicitous means. read more

I used these folks to install a new HVAC system for our 3,000-foot house. The guy that came out was one of their lead installers. He was excellent. Educational, informative, not pushy. Not the most expensive, but not the cheapest either. The installation crew was polite, professional and cleaned up after themselves and got out of the house in a timely fashion. There was a problem that developed with the balance of temperature between the front and rear of the house. I called them and they sent out a guy who was obviously a sales guy. He diagnosed the problem as a problem with the size of my vents in the front of the house. He said he would write something up for the company to review. But I didn't hear back. So, I called back and got to a manager. I told him one of their guys came out but I never heard back. He looked back in the files and noted that he had not seen the report his last guy prepared. We didn't really discuss that because he said he would send out someone to review the situation. The guy that showed up was an installer. He was incredible. First of all, he was 5 minutes early; timeliness I have never seen before! He showed me what the sales guy proposed, I laughed as it was simply outrageous. Had they just sent me the proposal that guy wrote up, I would have been royally pissed off as I had just installed a whole new system with them. Anyway, the new fellow diagnosed the problem in about 10 minutes as a rather simple airflow issue and noted the issue could be easily addressed without tearing up our ceilings with new vents. It just took some dampers in the rear vent ducts. He noted that this issue would have been difficult to diagnose without using it for a while. The solution did involve some parts and labor which would have been include in the original installation anyway. He connected me to the manager to discuss the price and he was very reasonable and we negotiated a price that was well below what it would have been if I had not been a customer. I think he probably just charged me enough to cover his guy's travel of coming out to La Canada. Within ten minutes of him completing the job, the airflow in the house felt so relaxing. The house was balanced. You don't know what you're missing until you get it back. It was great and it remains great even a couple of weeks out now. My wife and I are very satisfied and the seer 18 is much less expensive to operate than our old system. So, what I can honestly say is that the actual installers are absolutely great and they know what to need to do. The senior managers are very reasonable. Well so far I'm not 100% satisfied with your services. Josh came Monday morning which was great because everyone else was not available til mid week. I probably should have waited. He said he would try to get someone out next day and I understand it wasn't a guarantee but there was no communication by your company to tell me otherwise. Then I believe the owner called to apologize and said that parts were being ordered so that was the delay despite Josh said everything was at their office because the owner bought over 2 million dollars on equipment. Nonetheless he promised 3 workers would be working on my unit and be in and out Thursday by afternoon. 8:30pm and 2 guys are still working. One guy was alone working til 4:30. He finally took his lunch break at that time. Then 2 guys came shortly thereafter I understand that there was a delay do some cementing issues. But at no time did 3 guys work. Then the thermostat Josh promised us was not the one provided. Josh told us we would be provided a thermostat we could control with our phone. That was not the case. Josh said we would be getting a $600 thermostat with WiFi but ours is one I found on Amazon for around $100. Josh pointed out the insulation we had was wrong and said it would be corrected with the new installation but it wasn't. Josh said it was against company policy for the workers to use our restroom but the guy used it multiple times (I'm ok with that because he was alone). I'm not convinced I got a 5 ton unit because the guy installing it said it was 4 ton. Josh said we would be getting an Amana unit but we got a Goodman. So the workers were ready to leave after 9pm. Literally said " bye, the AC is running and any questions to call the office". No one showed us how to operate it. A wooden pallet was left along with tools. I spoke with Tanya the next day and she said she would have someone out Friday between 3-5pm. She told me I got a Goodman because I asked for American made. BS I never made that request. Got a call @4pm and was told no one was available but she would get back to me. So I figured Monday someone would call. Then Tuesday came and went. Finally I called them and emailed them and my call was finally returned and was told Thursday someone would be out. I was offered a year for free of services but asked for 2. Not a real consolation in my opinion. So Chris comes out on Thursday and is super polite BUT brings a used thermostat. It's WiFi but can't register it because it has already been registered to someone else. So he tells me there's no more new ones in the office. He repairs everything that's wasn't done the previous time and then says will come back whenever he has a new thermostat. Friday comes around and the AC stops working all together. So I call the office and speak with James who says someone will come out Saturday. I asked him to have the owner call me Monday. It's Monday 5:25pm and no phone call. But Saturday Josh comes back with such an attitude. He's a good salesman but that's all. He continued to tell me how my complaint got his ass chewed out for 2 hours. Said the installers were idiots, said Christopher is stupid and said that I signed for a Goodman ( which I did but despite him saying one thing he orders something else) anyways the AC stopped working because it blew a fuse. So thats not their fault but everything else was. All I can say is no I would not recommend them. $11,300 for a 5 ton (yes it was verified) Goodman came with way too many headaches. This company promises the world but has poor communication, employees who literally bad mouths their coworkers and complains to the customers is one I don't want to recommend. And the WiFi thermostat is just a little over $100 on Amazon but according to Josh they charge $600 with installation. Seems to be overpriced to me. read more

Updating... After about 28 days I did receive a courtesy refund thats what the check says. As my husband was told,they were not able to process the refund any faster because it was too close to the holidays. Work was done on December 15 and 17/18. I'm guessing they didn't process any payments made to them between December 18, 2020 and January 9, 2021. My point is I'm a female retired union trained electrician. I am lazy but do know what doesn't quite feel right. This felt like the poor women won't know she is being fooled. I could be wrong but someone in the company read my first review and called my husband. They had both names and numbers. But needed to speak with the man of the house. I won't want Quality to believe women don't know a game when one is played. Go where you feel respected. read more

Rick called asking if I would like my heating and a/c serviced and duct work checked to make sure no leaks to attic $99 promo.. brandon came out.. I thought he would clean the ducts, but that's not what they do. He asked for attic access and stood at the opening and said he couldn't get in there would be to small. I've had larger size plumbers go up in the attic before. He set me down and gave me a verbal inspection report of all the things wrong with my system and ductwork.. I asked him how he could know what the ductwork was like in the back bedroom because you can't see it unless you go into the attic. I told him thats not a service thats an inspection. I asked for the inspection report he said it will be emailed, i asked for a receipt, email as well. After brandon left my home the thermostat is no longer powered. I called the company to ask them to get someone back out asap. And this company might be good if you need a repair done to furnace or air conditioning but not if it is working. He did not replace or repair or adjust anything. read more

My family and I have been fairly unsatisfied from the beginning to the end. I wanted so badly to be satisfied with everything given the amount of money we've spent on our mini-split system. However, I can no longer convince myself that we made the right choice by going with this company. We've had our unit for over a month and it's worked for a total of 6 days. It happens right? It's unfortunate but I get that things happen. But the biggest problem we've had is communication. From the people that bid the project, to the people actually installing it, to the customer service, to the repairmen; it genuinely seems like they don't communicate with each other at all. You speak to one person, and you think you have everything cleared up, then someone shows up at your house and has no idea what was discussed. Changing appointment days and times because they didn't have realize they had a staff meeting when we booked our appointment a week ago? (sure, i love taking off work AGAIN because your unit still isn't working). Communication is the easiest thing in the world. You have to make a conscious effort to not be good at communicating, both between your staff...and with your customers. There's a lot of room for improvement for both. read more
