Beautiful spot for a Sunday brunch! We stopped by with friends, grabbed some drinks and wonderful seafood/salads in a lush/tropical setting. Upon arrival it was drizzling just a bit, and the complimentary valet parking is a nice touch. Once inside, we got a beautiful table right at the waterfront, and enjoyed wonderful views and great food in a relaxing environment. While the fish tacos were good, the freshly prepared seafood filet looked like the star of the meal. We took a walk around the entire restaurant after we ate, and saw all of the beautiful areas that they've designed to enhance the dining experience. If you're in the Jupiter area, this is a place you have to see and enjoy, since words alone do not do it justice. With excellent service, great food and beautiful scenery, I highly recommend Guanabanas.

We have some dear friends who live in Jupiter and they brought us here for lunch today. I am so glad they did because it was a fantastic experience. The ambiance is outstanding along the water with all of the beautiful landscaping, bamboo and banyan trees. There are also several huge tiki huts which provide good cover from the sun or rain while dining outside. We started with a coconut mojito, margarita and bloody Mary. The menu offers both brunch and lunch items. Our party had the grilled steak salad, blackened fish with rice and beans and plantains, blackened fish tacos, and a Reuben omelette. We all loved our choices. Service was quick, friendly and helpful. If you get the chance to visit this restaurant I highly recommend it. You can even get to it by boat.

Exactly what I want when I think "waterfront casual dining." Great service that was quick and attentive. Boats can dock and there are plenty of spots to hang out. We got drinks, apps and shared an entree. I don't live nearby, but I would make sure to come back here on a future trip to Jupiter.

Parking was easy, there's a pubic parking lot a walking distance away from the restaurant which I prefer, but if you want to park close, they have valet parking too. Upon entering, there were signs indicating where I should walk towards. The hostess was nice and sat me quickly. My server was Lauren, and she was awesome, very attentive, kind, and helpful. Food came out quickly. I ordered the catfish sandwich and the clam chowder, which was the first time I've ever tried clam chowder. The sandwich was tasty. The catfish was soft with topped with banana peppers. Clam chowder was delicious soft, chunky, and flavorful. I would recommend!

Dining on the water tonight at Guanabanas. Valet is always readily available and recommended. I always stop here at least once on my trip to Jupiter. We came around 4:30 and had to wait for about 15 min for a table on the water. We got a buzzer and sat down on the deck. When we got seated we got our drink orders right away and put our entrees in too. Service was good and food came out quickly. They ran out of coconut rum. They also don't offer Moscow mules in copper cups which I find odd. I got the A1A Lemonade. I got the avocado mango salad which is what I always get and so did the rest of my party. It is presented beautifully and tastes just as good. I finished with the chocolate brownie cake. Very rich but good. We had to wait a long time to get our check. This is a must try if you're in the area!!!

Visited for the first time and was very pleased with my experience. The setting from the outside to what you walk into is a total 180. From a busy road to a tropical oasis, the waterfront vibes, decor and great attitude from staff make this a fun and vibrant experience. We ordered their spicy shrimp bites to start, playa bowl and Hawaiian shrimp combo. The food was fantastic, fresh and flavorful with fair portions. Our wait staff was attentive and friendly all throughout. Overall, this is for sure a must visit spot!

Great ambiance, food, and drinks. Can't go wrong. Watch the boats come n go at sunset.

First thing, if you want the 25 percent off you must eat in the bar. We went two nuggets in a row. First night was during happy hour and we had the $5 happy hour margarita. I had the mojito margarita. It was watery, I had the tequila lime shrimp for supper. It was very good. Great taste, had brussel sprouts and black beans as a side. The brussel sprouts were really good, included bacon and maple syrup. The service was exceptional, I liked the atmosphere as it was island related. The second day we went, our drinks were excellent, I had a Kona beer. Appetizers is all we ate, nachos with chicken and cheese and fish dip with chips, vegetables for dipping and jalapeños very good. For both nights are portions were huge.

Friends in the area recommended this spot to enjoy the view of the water and the food. We grabbed a late lunch and the menu has plenty of wonderful options. Between the fish tacos and the salad we selected, both were tasty. The beer was cold and watching the boats go by was relaxing. The key lime pie hit the spot. We were hoping for the coconut cream pie our friends raved about, but it's off the menu. Bring it back! We will be back for round two to try dinner. Might check if they take reservations to secure a table on the water. Make sure you stop by and give them a try. Enjoy!

Spicy shrimp bites

I'm giving Guanabanas 2 stars for the vibes alone. Went during a weekday lunch and it wasn't that crowded and a beautiful day outside. And baby, I love a meal and drinks by water and Guanabanas provided. Service was good, now the food was fair. We started with the spicy shrimp bites for app. It wasn't all that spicy but cooked well. For lunch, I went with the shrimp wrap with chips and added brussels. Nothing fancy but also no big complaints. We ended our meal with a slice of key lime pie and it was and enjoyable and welcome ending to a relaxing lunch. Parking was valet, small lot..annoying but whatever

Covered outdoor seating along the water

Just walking through the tropical entrance to Guanabanas makes you feel like you are on an island vacation. Even when the music isn't playing, as was the case when we went for lunch, the vibe is fun and upbeat. Being right on the water, the menu features several types of fresh fish, prepared in a variety of enticing ways. Fear not, landlubbers, there are plenty of non-fish options for you too. I enjoyed a Caesar salad with grilled chicken, which I requested to be blackened. Instead of the usual Caesar dressing, I asked for and enthusiastically received the balsamic vinegarette dressing. The salad and chicken portions were quite large and the meal was tasty. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the Mahi Rachel sandwich, which includes coleslaw and thousand island dressing atop the blackened mahi fish on thick toast. She ordered it with a side of sweet plantains instead of the seasoned potato chips. The sandwich was delicious, and the plantains were superb! Our server (Rachel?) was wonderful. She anticipated our every need - drink refills, napkins, more water, etc - and was very pleasant and truly enjoyed her job. She mentioned that Guanabanas didn't serve french fries. Once we tasted the plantains and the chips, we realized that the fries wouldn't be missed on the menu. All the seating is outdoors along the water, but it wasn't uncomfortably warm even during a FL summer day because of the sail covers providing shade as well as the fans and the misters. Although we didn't have any adult beverages from the "Liquid Kitchen" menu, we noted that the list of available drinks was as long as the list of food on the other side of the menu. Clearly Guanabanas is a place to relax, listen to some live music, have a drink (or two) and enjoy a nice meal. Next time we'll visit in the evening to partake in all that this 20+ year old institution has to offer.

This is a beautiful restaurant & a staple of Jupiter, Florida, that everybody has to visit just to say they've been there, and learn how to pronounce the restaurant name, lol! We stopped by late afternoon to grab a drink and just check the place out, but it was already packed to the gills. We sat at the end of the bar, I stood because the bartender barked at me that the empty seat was being used, which it never was while I was there. There was a lot of energy at this place as they don't take reservations, so there's a lot of people doing a lot of waiting and if it's not your thing, you might want to come by at a less busy time. This seating areas are all very beautiful with lots of jungle vibe and big plants everywhere and many of the seats facing the water. There was even a paddle board race starting as we arrived. We each enjoyed our drink at the bar and walked around a bit just to check it out, but couldn't wait to get out of there as it was just too chaotic. Really beautiful setting, but the scene was just more than we felt like dealing with. I'd love to come by again sometime when they're not as busy, but when I asked the busy bartender when that was, she said never...

Playa Rice Bowl with shrimp

Interesting outdoor seating waterside restaurant. Shade and fans keep it tolerably cool. We were a party of 10 plus a dog. Chloe took good care of us, promptly delivering ice water and other beverages. I ordered smoked fish dip for the table. It was small but everyone had a taste. Spouse and I split the Cuban sandwich with chips and were pleased with it. Granddaughter just had a shrimp cocktail. It was huge and she pronounced it delicious. All in all a fun lunch with family

Guanabanas Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Guanabanas

What are the gluten-free options?

Yes. Nachos, bbq shrimp. Not all fish are breaded. I do happy hour apps only, so no meal info. They will give you an allergy free meal if asked.

Are they dog friendly?

Last I knew, they did not allow dogs.

Do they have tables for larger parties?

Wouldn't this be a more appropriate question for the vendor?

Do they still do breakfast? I used to love their morning Arepas but I can't find a menu or mention of brunch anywhere since COVID has happened?

I do not believe they are doing anything early in the day as of yet. They do not open until 11:30 usually.

What is the entertainment schedule?

I'd call them there wasn't any when we were there for late lunch but it was raining

I see many reviews about long waiting times to be seated. Do they take reservations?

They do not. I waited maybe 45 minutes on a Sunday.

Is it hot or do they provide misting fans?

I do recall seeing some misting fans but not right over the tables. I didn't think it was hot at all but that would depend on the person.

Is smoking allowed outside?

I believe it is as most of the restaurant is outdoors. Worst case scenario is you could walk down to the docks and smoke if no allowed at the table.

Do staff wear masks?

Yes & The restaurant is outdoors, it's like a tiki hut on the water. But weekends, when it's busy, we are uncomfortable there were just too many people squeezed together especially near the bar and high tops.

Do they have Hookahs?

No, they do not.

When is their Happy hour?

Happy is 3 to 6 Monday through Friday with drink & appetizer specials

What is the deal on drinks during happy hour?

Sorry, I'm not a drinker!

Is it kid friendly?

Yes

What are the options for vegetarians?

Salad...

Does it get really hot to sit outside there for lunch in July?

Yes. They have fans in select areas and umbrellas but yes it's going to be hot.

The Hungry Poet is back baby!! (I love being Yelp Elite…read more I've just been busy!) "The Salty Zebra blew me away, The Black Grouper entree made my entire day. The burger was seasoned and the patty was fat, But those home made desserts....whooo that's where it's at!" This meal/dining experience brought me to Yelp immediately. I was excited y'all! The Salty Zebra (picked it b/c of good reviews and proximity to Barnes and Noble in Tequesta) They cover the basics extremely well: greeted with kindness and professionalism, seated promptly, and approached immediately by a wonderful server. I won't spend time here just know you will not be disappointed with the service and it was beyond pleasant. Apps Burgundy Escargot (Pernod Garlic-Parsley Butter) We asked for a recommendation from the appetizer section of their menu (perfect amount of selections by the way...I despise an encyclopedic menu). We were thinking escargot and we were so pleased that it was recommended...that sealed the deal. It was garlicky and buttery and served with the perfect white bread. Spot on. Entrees were freaking fantastic! Florida Black Grouper (Creamed Kai Kai Farms Mustard Greens, Colab Farms Glazed Carrots, Carrot Marmalade) I never order grouper. I go out of my way to order it because I don't enjoy white fish usually. Something spoke to my spirit (plus our amazing server highly recommended it) and I went against my natural inclination. Lawd have mercy I'm glad I did. That grouper was perfectly seared, flaky, flavorful and completed excellently by the mustard greens and carrots. I do t know what the sauce was in the plate but it was savory a bit earthy in the best possible way with a twinge of sweetness that made me want to lick the plate ‍ (hey I'm from Mississippi...we do that ). Needless to say there wasn't a morsel of food left in my plate. Other reviews complained about small portions. I beg to differ it was a perfect portion, and I have a biiiiig appetite. (I am the hungry poet after all! I enjoy experiencing three full courses and not being miserably full by dessert.) Bistro Burger (1/2 LB CBS Blend, Gruyere, Sweet & Sour Onions, Au Poivre Sauce, Parmesan Potato Wedges) Boyfriend got the burger. It was great--I am well loved so I got the first bite lol Patty was thick and moist and seasoned! I was impressed that they didn't stay away from seasoning with this burger. We suspect it could have even been prepared sous vide then seared because of how evenly cooked it was. Our server was even kind enough to bring ketchup for the potato wedges. Dessert LET ME FIRST SAY: the second dessert (chef's special) was complementary. I don't know why? Good karma maybe? Speaking of the chef... Chef Michael was working that dining room. ‍ He walked by our table and asked if everything was okay. Not realizing he was the chef we asked for a little more bread to sop up the escargot butter. He brought the bread out a few minutes later himself and was super polite. He introduced himself and I was impressed that he was so personable. He stopped by two more times to check on our entrees and desserts. I love an involved chef. I have a couple friends who are Executive Chefs in pretty swanky places and I love to see that bar being met. Especially as a Yelp Elite reviewer. You know how most people can't wait to write reviews when they're pissed. I can't wait to write reviews when my socks are knocked off. Back to dessert... Chocolate banana I love banana desserts. Some might be biased but this dessert was oooooooh wee deliciously special. I don't have the description because I think desserts change weekly/daily etc but trust me... GET IT! If you like bananas chocolate and caramel get it! Homemade S'more When I said made in house I mean it! The marshmallow the graham cracker all of it! It was rich and decadent and it blew me away. I'll be thinking about these desserts for a while. And again I don't t know what we did to get a free one but Chef Michael brought both out himself and I felt the "we go the extra mile" vibe. It was crystal clear. Sounds like I'm using hyperbole but I swear I'm not. Decor and ambiance was beautiful. Wasn't loud at all. Hands down a perfect dinner experience. We had been walking in the hot sun all day after this impromptu trip to Stuart and even in leggings and a T-shirt we felt comfy and welcomed. Thanks another review giving it to you straight no chaser from The Hungry Poet aka Elizabeth S. aka Lizz . Enjoy!

Service felt flat the entire time. I specifically asked for very light ice in my drink and even said I didn't care if the glass wasn't full. The drink still came out packed with ice, and I had to ask for a separate cup and spoon to fix it myself--which shouldn't happen. What really stood out was the lack of attention. We were there for about 35 minutes, and not once did she come back to check on us--no "How is everything?" and no offer for another drink. Meanwhile, she spent more time in the back talking with a coworker than actually servicing her customers. There was also confusion when we asked for the check, which just added to the overall disorganization. What's disappointing is that this place used to have a much better vibe--staff like Denise made it feel welcoming and enjoyable. That's clearly changed. The new staff just doesn't bring the same level of service or personality. The food and location still have potential, but service makes or breaks a place--and right now, it's missing. "Service isn't just part of the experience--it is the experience."
