What a great place to go for lunch, dinner, or just drinks. You feel like your in the middle of a jungle, eating on the Amazon river. The atmosphere here is great. Our waitress, Lexi was very sweet, always smiling and a great server. The food was good....Chicken Nachos, and a salad w/ a large bottle of Pellegrino. So we were in Jupiter, Florida for my cousin's wedding for 4 days. We visited this place 3 times in those 4 days: Once for the beginning of the bachelor/bachelorette party, again for the night before the wedding, and then the last time was our lunch as we were leaving Jupiter, the morning after the wedding. This place's atmosphere is SO much fun. It's outside and there was live music, and there's a part of the place that is right on the water of an inlet with a few piers. Living in Texas, I've never been to a place like this. I would say that I wish there WAS a place like this in Texas, but no one would go because it's way too freaking hot here. Beautiful outdoor environment, love the restaurant itself-- service put a damper on the whole night. 3 hostesses and 1 waitress, all four of them were rude. Lots of open tables but we (table of 4) were forced to wait 30 minutes. Hostess(es) paged our waiting pager, we waited patiently for another 10 minutes anticipating to be seated, only to be told that we were paged by mistake and we have to continue waiting. Still lots of open tables... Finally seated. Waitress forgot multiple items and was completely unapologetic. She was overly confused on how to split a bill. In general, the food was good...The grouper was great; the shrimp fritters were not good/not what we were expecting. All of the sides were very good (cornbread, fried plantains, beans & rice). My friend ordered a mixed drink and he was very happy with it. Worth visiting this place (absolutely beautiful, decent food) but hope that you are greeted by more considerate hostesses and hope that you're given a more competent server. read more

This would easily be a five start place if the food was t so incredibly over priced. 2 shrimp tacos for $12 which does not come with a side. I have been here for New Year's Eve, with friends, business meetings ... it is one of the best spots in Jupiter in my opinion. I went today with my family(party of 8). The happy hour drinks and apps were very good and reasonable for the price. We had the shrimp fritters, steamers and chicken wings. The wings were on the well done side. Francesca was our server and she was great. Attentive and very pleasant. I had the coconut shrimp. The meal was tasty but for the price they were really small (guessing they were 30-40 size) and because they don't peel the tails off, I ended up chewing pieces of shell. Used recommendations from co-workers, we went for lunch today. There was an open handicap spot, but a valet parked in it, do I took the next open spot in the 8 car parking, the valet tried to make me move, I told him he took my handicap spot, did he want to swap? He let me stay where I was. I was wary about my start, but had nothing to worry about. The restaurant was busy, so we took a high top, got menus and drinks right away. Beer was really cold! Ordered the Floridian fritters, Florida shrimp with a sweet-hot dipping sauce, this came out piping hot and delicious! For lunch I got the coconut shrimp, green beans and corn bread. Hubby got the fish tacos. I got 10 shrimp, large moist chunk of cornbread and crispy steamed fresh green beans, all seasoned very well. Shrimp were perfection (I like my shrimp well cooked, nothing glistening, was not disappointed) Fish taco was supposed to be grilled, (vs blackened) but seasons by tasted like blackened? Either way it was good, Shell was crispy, slaw on taco was delicious, serving was two tacos, not much food for the price. Total bill was $54, not. Ad got the area we read. This place has awesome food and drinks. The canal view may not be as spectacular as the view at Utiki, but it's quiet and usually has a nice breeze. The pulled pork BBQ sandwich is the bomb! The only downside is the lack of parking. Best thing to do is park over near Square Grouper and walk down or use the valet parking option but I don't like people driving my sled. We love eating here for the view and good food but tonight was the first time I had a not so good experience - the valets were so rude! Overall I give this place 4 stars but it brakes down like so Food: 3.5 stars Atmosphere: 5 stars Service: 4 stars The food is good but nothing to really rave about, and it's priced about $2 per plate more than it should in my opinion. That being said, the atmosphere is awesome. If you factor in the cost of the intangibles like drinking a cold beer on the waterfront , in a rain forest, jungle canopy, tree house atmosphere, then the price seems about right. I live in Jupiter and have passed the place a ton of times and decided to have dinner. Did not do the Happy Hour Bar thing whcih was probably great, Ordered off the regualr menu, very pricey, two Blue Moon Drafts $13 a fish taco and crab cakes came to about 75 dollars with tip maybe a little more. The food was OK not stellar the atmosphere was good, I've Kayaked past before. I suggest you do the happy hour menu and drinks you can probably equal the meal for about half if you stick to bottled beer and fish sandwich or burger. Guanabanas offers a unique Florida dining experience -- it's an outdoor, open-air restaurant along a river popular with kayakers and paddleboarders, who provide a bit of a show as you enjoy your meal. We live in Jupiter and visit Guanabanas every time we have visitors, and they're always impressed with the views. The food, maybe not so much; it's not very memorable. But I doubt that anyone goes to Guanabanas for the food. (If you want great food, go to -- surprisingly enough -- the Tommy Bahama restaurant in the Harbourside development just 1 mile from Guanabanas.) If you're a native Spanish speaker, you need to be warned about the odd pronunciation. The management calls the place GWAH'-nuh-bah-nuhz (as opposed to gwuh-NAH'-buh-nuhs). read more
