I want to start with thier food is always top notch. I have never been let down. However, we came in and right next to the big huge sign saying no smoking, dipping or vaping was two old ladies vaping like a steam locomotive. When asked the server about it, she shrugged it off and said some people just don't follow the rules. The worst part is there were kids nearby. Being born and raised in New Mexico I have had the pleasure of enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine along with true New Mexico cuisine ( there is a difference). Guacamoles in Lufkin TX is The Best Mexican restaurant I have been too! The food is fresh, well prepared and served in a timely matter by a friendly server. I have been too this restaurant quite a few times...I asked the manager if they excepted spousal drinking if my spouse is over 21 he can legally serve me some places and they said yes ma'am all we need to see is both of your ids, okay no problem. They served me mutltiple times. My husband is 22 and I'm 20. Come in today 03/23/19 and let them know I'd like a mixed drink, show them our ids and one of the waiters says he can drink but not you.. I was like hold up I have been here on mutliple occasions and have been able too, he kept saying No,no,no! I was like can I talk to your manager, apparently he wasn't here and so they guy got on the phone with someone and he was like my boss says I can't. What's up with Guacomoles? First time trying this place. I ordered food to go. Staff were polite and greeted me when I arrived which was pleasant. However, the food was not good at all. They packaged hot and cold stuff together. I ordered Steak Fajitas and it was gross. The meat tasted old and NO seasoning at all. The veggies were soggy/mushy and no flavor. It looked horrible but I said well taste it maybe it will be good. NOPE! Flour tortillas were hard, crusty and cold. The whole meal was a mess and a disaster. Will not be going back. read more

This place had hands down, the worst service I've ever had anywhere. The waiter took 15 minutes to bring drinks (water, not alcohol), forgot my mothers sangria (which had no fruit or ice in it) and the food took over an hour to arrive. The music was also so loud we couldn't hear the waiter or each other to have a conversation. After our meal my husband spoke to the manager and he didn't seem to mind that we had horrible service, that the drinks were crap and that we were unhappy. He was sitting in his office behind a closed door and went right back behind his closed door after telling my husband "I'll have the hostess come help the waiter". Horrible horrible service. The only reason I can imagine this place is still open is because there aren't many Mexican food restaurants in Lufkin. This place was the worst. read more

Was my go to Tex mex spot in lufkin! But seems last few times been in it has went down hill! Stood at host stand for 10 mins before even being spoke too was legit no one working host stand was seated by bartender! Then waited and waited was just about to get up and leave when finally bartender took our order only had to wait 20 plus mins prolly wouldn't have done it then but I was starting to get noticeably upset! This is a new business just starting out and it's not decorated the best but the food is amazing!!! The guacamole is delish and the street tacos are very good. I love the salsa too! We walked in and were seated immediately. They brought us our drinks in no time. I ordered chicken quesadillas with rice and refried beans, by far some of the best quesadillas I've ever had. The waitress was so sweet and consistent. Definitely will be returning. read more

Slow service when restaurant was practically empty, almost 2 in the afternoon. Hostess brought chips and salsa quickly we had most of them finished before someone came and asked if we had been waited on and took our drink order. When he brought our drinks back took our order my husband repeated the order back to him. Both our orders came back wrong, sent them back. Tacos came back correct but with very little meat. Went here for 1st time with my family. 3 adults 2 children. They greeted us and hostess sat us down in a booth. We waited about 15 minutes and no one had came. Then a waiter came and took our drink order. We still havent gotten any chips or salsa. I had to get up and go ask for them. When food came out it was not that warm. My daughter's food was brought 15 minutes after the rest of the food. We had to get up and ask for togo boxes. Overall the food was okay. The service was horrible. The first waiter (one that took the order) was actually the manager was not very attentive to the customers. We even heard the table beside us complain about service too. Slow to take orders, slow to serve, no one refilling drinks or offering to remove dishes, etc. Like being waited on by junior high kids. If you want to hear what the person next to you is saying DO NOT go on karaoke night - music is extremely loud, painful in some cases, and there are some regulars who bring their own fans to mic night. They ended up messing up my order and said they would bring the correct food out and give me 20% off my bill but I would still have to pay for what they brought me in the first place. I was fine with that thinking great I'll have a good lunch tomorrow with leftovers. They only gave me 20% off the food they messed up on.
