As a truck driver I used to get through here 2015 - 2016 after hurricane in Houston. Have missed it a little. Got through today- had to stop. So refreshing knowing you can get a home run meal on the basics. Nothing fancy- but a PERFECT beef burrito plate, caso, topping, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce- beans and rice on the side. Nothing fancy but The Best TexMex food In Angelina County. They have the best Pappa Nachos I have ever had. Love that they use "Gravy " for enchilada sauce. What a fantastic Mexican restaurant we found in Corrigan, Tx. The chips and salsa were the best I have ever had. I ordered a chicken burrito and companion had a chicken chimichanga. This restaurant exceeded expectations! We are very picky about our Mexican food and this place is an all time favorite! I wish it was closer to home!!! My husband got chicken tostados. My family wanted to have great Mexican or Tex mex food, so we drove to Diboll to try this restaurant. So people from Angelina (my summary is that) This is much better than Cafe Del Rio at Lufkin. Arrived with my brother & son at almost closing time during a long road trip, but the staff was very accommodating, friendly, & provided exceptional service. Food was great, big portions & the three of us left very full and with extras to go! Definitely worth a revisit if I'm in the area again. The only issue, and it's not on the restaurant, is trying to get in when coming from the south. Poor road design! Again, not the restaurant's fault, just be careful trying to get there. read more

Took the recommendation of this place from some workers at Atco. Can't say I should of. Waitress was not very attentive to me outside bringing me my drink and then telling me to be careful as the plate was hot! Probably only best experience was the hot plate. The chimichanga was good and the taco was good as well. I sat with an empty tea glass half way theu my meal. Waitress asked another guy "How's the food" and had conversation with him but never noticed my tea glass was empty. Really good Tex-Mex. I was staying on the south side of Lufkin. Los Jarritos is located in in Diboll, TX about 5 minutes from Lufkin. Very conveniently located on Hwy59/69 on the north side of Diboll. This is probably the best fajitas I have had in the entire Lufkin area. The mixed fajitas for one is really plenty for two people. The beef had a great flavor and the chicken was not dried out from overcooking. You know you are getting plenty of fajitas when the meat outlast the tortillas. The order came with 3 tortillas and I had enough meat for 5 or 6. I'll say it again, plenty to share even though it was fajitas for one. I also had an order of queso. Pretty basic queso without the green peppers or tomatoes you find in some queso. My non-vegetable eating son would have loved it. I will definitely eat here again when I'm staying in Lufkin. It's really good Tex-Mex. Oh, they serve their salsa warm. IMO, it's always better that way. DRIVING TIP: Anyone who has driven this area knows that Diboll is a major speed trap. If you are reading this review and not familiar with the area, do yourself a favor and don't speed through Diboll. If you do, this trip to eat Tex-Mex could suddenly become $250 more expensive. read more

Ok. This is a tough review for me. Let's start at the beginning. I ordered cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. I asked the server what kind of beans they served and she replied "mushed beans." Because I am a vegetarian I always want to know if the refried beans are made with lard, most are but occasionally they are not. She said she would find out and really never came back and gave me an answer. I had to stop her after our food was delivered to find out. Now comes the really bad part. Our food was delivered on the hottest plates I have ever seen in my life. It was literally 8-10 minutes before we could begin to eat our lunch. We asked our server about it and she said they are always like that and she has several burns because of the plates!!! Why do they do this!!! The food was average at best and combined with the other issues I felt like one star was the only option. read more

Food would get 4 stars, maybe 4 1/2 as this is the best Tex-Mex in the Lufkin area. And I've seen it described as a hole in the wall, it's not, it's just very simple and plain. BYOB if you have to have a margarita. It's everything else that failed. And it failed spectacularly. Our waiter seemed like he had never been in a Mexican food place before, let alone this one. He certainly had never seen the menu because questions befuddled him. Chips and hot sauce while we waited. Nope. After 3 requests the chips finally showed, when the meal was over, but never any salsa. Appetizer brought with the meal which took forever to arrive, but no silverware. When we asked, they had run out and we're washing more but it wasn't ready. The tacos were fine, but enchiladas as finger food doesn't work. By the time dinner showed, the food was cold, If you don't have silverware don't bring out food. If you can't get the food out, get the chips out there. Yes, they were busy, and good for them, but it was a disaster. read more
